Classy Vintage Spot in the Heart of Central Maine

I loved, loved, loved my experience with Royal Oak room. In the year between booking the venue and my wedding day, Wayne was over-the-top helpful, responsive, and accommodating. Although I tried my best to not be overly fussy, he helped me add some unique touches to my day including the use of hanging plants and greenery in the court yard, a few hand-selected spirits and wines -- each as a nod to places my family is from -- and making sure staff was on hand to serve champagne to my guests (since the caterers and wait staff could not handle any liquor and beer).

The venue is very reasonably priced, included chairs/tables and pews if you want your ceremony to be there too, and offers the option of renting plates, cups, etc. I ended up renting all my tableware since it was a lot easier than having it all brought in.

By the way, the kitchen here is magnificent; my caterer was ecstatic. Fully equipped, very up-to-date and sizable enough to handle a large team. There was even a place for the catering van to back directly into the kitchen door.

Above all, everyone was amazingly friendly on my wedding day. I know it sounds like a "duh, they're working for you" kind of comment, but I cannot overstate how much they were able to add to my happiness that day. They seemed more like old friends than folks I had just met earlier that day. I'm so appreciative to have been around such fantastic people for what could have been a very stressful day.

If you can't tell, I heartily recommend Wayne, his staff, and The Royal Oak Room as a whole.

Laura, the chef, and their staff were a joy to work with for our wedding day. My husband and I just celebrated our first anniversary and are still in awe about how amazing our wedding day was! Our guests raved about the venue and the quality of the food. We could not have asked for a better venue! We would highly recommend this place, they do not disappoint!

I searched high and low for a wedding venue in central Maine that was stylish and classic and wouldn't break the bank. I was so happy when I finally found The Royal Oak Room. Laura is the owner/coordinator and she is so easy to work with and just generally fabulous. She was accommodating and was immeasurably helpful on the wedding weekend in coordinating everything and helping to make sure everyone was where they were supposed to be. She even opened up early the day before to let us practice our first dance.

The space itself is just lovely and classically elegant with super high tray ceilings, wood paneled walls and understated decor and fixtures. I really didn't have to do much at all to decorate and the place still looked fabulous. We got married on the back patio and had the reception inside. It was the perfect size for the traditional cocktail hour followed by a seated reception with dancing for about 75 people with plenty of room for a large dance floor.

The food was delicious and the staff was phenomenal. Everyone was so sweet and attentive and made sure our day was perfect. My fiance and I hid out back while the guests arrived and Laura brought us some champagne and snacks while we waited - I was really grateful and touched by her thoughtfulness and attention to detail.

This place is a hidden gem!
