Brick South was the first venue that we saw during our search, and we immediately knew it was going to be “the one” even as we toured other venues. The way that Brick South can transform from a big empty carriage house to a magical wedding venue was almost hard to believe, but their team and the vendors they work with do an amazing job. Throughout the process Kellie and Elena were beyond helpful and guided us through any questions that we had. Every request we made for the venue was met, and all of our guests absolutely loved the venue’s aesthetic. The bar had the groom’s favorite Maine beer on tap and the bartenders were mixing outstanding cocktails. We highly recommend Brick South to anyone looking to get married in Portland. It was an amazing backdrop for an amazing day!

Brick South is truly the most unique, stunning wedding venue in the greater Portland area! After touring 10+ venues it was clear that Brick South was our top choice. We are so grateful to have worked with Kellie (she’s a superstar!) and the greater Brick South team to create our dream wedding. The huge, expansive venue can be overwhelming but rest assured it serves as the perfect canvas to create your own vision of a dream wedding. Our guests have not stopped raving about the beautiful space or friendliness of the bar staff - we hosted an open bar which has to be catered by Brick South and were blown away with the amazing local beer options, variety and quality of the wine, and great liquor choices included! As a wedding officiant who just officiated a wedding a Brick South, I felt compelled to write a review of this venue. The features and packages they have in place are obviously well conceived and were extremely well-executed. I believed the venue saved this wedding. The couple handled all of the planning on their own & the day before, details fell apart. Vendors were trying to be calm and professional, but little info was getting to us. Kelly, the Brick South Coordinator, instinctively moved throughout the event keeping vendors informed. Because of her calm professional communication skills, guests and even the couple remained completely unaware of the cracks that had appeared. Kelly runs a tight, professional ship and it shows. This venue is spectacular, well-managed and an excellent value. Plenty of on-site parking is an enormous plus. I look forward to coming again!

Brick South was the most PERFECT venue for our winter wedding. It is such a unique space, with such charm and character. It is very big but the lighting/ambiance/floor plan made it feel warm and intimate. Guests raved about the venue. It also photographs so well!!! Kellie was also an absolute pleasure to work with, so responsive, kind, organized, adaptable and understanding. She had great recommendations for the space and for the bartending package. The bartending service was also incredible - there were never long lines as the bartenders were quick and skilled, and the drinks were great! Thank you Kellie and Brick South for the absolute perfect wedding day.

Brick South is the absolute total package! We chose the venue in the fall of 2019 with plans of being married in the summer of 2020. We knew we wanted a space that felt entirely our own, and Brick South allowed us the blank canvas to create a wedding and aesthetic that felt entirely catered to us. Due to COVID, we pushed back until May 2021 and their team could not have been kinder and more helpful throughout the entire process. They made the transition to the following year feel seamless and communicated each new decision made regarding events at the venue immediately. Kellie and her team are some of the nicest and most professional folks we encountered in the wedding industry and we could not speak more highly of how well they orchestrated the first large event of 2021 in their space.

Our wedding itself could not have been any more perfect, thanks in large part to the gorgeous and massive space that is Brick South. From its tastefully preserved brick and wood walls and cavernous ceilings, to its beautiful location on the water and well-designed interior, the venue is truly an ideal location for anyone looking to host a picturesque event. It is spacious enough for a group of well over 300 but, as we were a COVID wedding, we reduced to 105 and never felt overwhelmed by the size of the venue. In fact, with the ability to separate the entire floor into distinct zones (reception, ceremony, bar, etc) using lovely wooden dividers, our event was able to feel intimate and grand at the same time. The extra space also contributed to guest comfort and social distancing during the pandemic.

We also utilized their full bar service and were very impressed with the team’s efficiency and selection! They were accommodating of specific asks that we had, including a signature cocktail, included several local beer offerings that our guests loved, and even tracked down our favorite local beer from Canada! We never saw a line and found everyone to be satisfied with their beverages throughout the evening.

Brick South was the perfect venue for our wedding in Maine. The venue itself was so beautiful, it didn't need much decor to make it feel special. Meryl and Kelley were very helpful and responsive through out the whole process, as was the rest of the staff at Brick South, even helping us with our special requests. The venue also photographs beautifully, and there are plenty of cool spots for photo ops(our photographer was stoked). It is a great space for you to plan your dream wedding!

When we started to consider the idea of a winter wedding we knew we wanted something a little different than your typical hotel venue. We met with Meryl in June and quickly fell in love with Brick South- the exposed brick, the large wood beams, the soft bistro lighting, the industrial feel and the idea you really could do anything with the blank canvas. Throughout the wedding planning process Meryl was wonderful, she was very quick to respond, provided me ideas of different layouts and answered any and all questions I had. The week before the wedding we found out that Saturday would be record breaking low temperatures and Meryl was quick to address my concern of heat and had additional industrial size space heaters placed in the building! The venue was more beautiful than I could have imagined the day of and Meryl and all the bar staff at Brick South really were the best! Everyone kept commenting about how magical our wedding was and we totally agree!

Brick South was the perfect venue for our 200 person wedding. The venue itself is aesthetically on point (exposed brick and beam, beautiful lighting, located on the water, etc) and has all the necessary amenities (inside/outside bar, full commercial kitchen, new clean bathrooms, etc) but it’s also in the perfect location for a wedding weekend. We did our rehearsal dinner across the street at Cellar Door Winery and our guests enjoyed (maybe too much) the proximity to one of the best breweries in Portland (or one of the best in the world in our opinions), Bissell Brothers. Top that off with the amazingly helpful and friendly staff who helped us sort out the details along the way (thanks Meryl!!!). It’s a stunning venue, we had a wonderful wedding weekend, and we wouldn’t have changed a thing.

We chose Brick South as we were looking for an industrial wedding venue, different from your typical hotel conference room. This place is gorgeous-our guests were in awe the entire night. We didn't go crazy with décor, some wedding pics you may see from Brick South go above and beyond, but we had simple décor and it was totally enough.
It is expensive, and my only wish is that a few more things were included in the venue price-but they do include an array of dining tables, cocktail tables and wooden room dividers. If you use the exclusive caterer, you can save some money but you still have to pay a $500 fee for them to use the kitchen (Bread and Butter, they were AMAZING). Depending on the time of year, there might be a concert right behind the venue at Thompson's Point, which could change the trajectory of your ceremony or reception depending on timing of the show/how loud it is. We lucked out and there was no concert, which I didn't realize until the wedding day how special that was. They were very flexible with how we wanted to organize the space, as it is just one large 25,000 sq ft room.
They are very strict with timing of your event-rental companies and lighting companies have to set up and take down everything that same day-which I think causes some of the rentals/lighting to be a bit more expensive since they need staff to come back at 10 or 11 that night instead of the next morning-but most local vendors know the rules as they do events there often.
They run a tight ship, but our wedding was absolutely incredible-it was truly the best day of my life, and they know how to host events. Thank you, Brick South!!

This venue is so amazing and beautiful!! We highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for something other than a golf club, barn or beach wedding.
