Absolutely wonderful job by Regina. She was very easy to work with throughout the entire process. My sister used her for her wedding 15 years ago and we decided to use her as well for ours. We never worried about getting the right shots, Regina knew what to do. She picked truly special shots and captured the day perfectly.

Regina couldn't have been more of a pleasure to work with. She arrived earlier than promised and stayed later to ensure she captured every moment. She provided batteries when my iPod speakers needed them while I was getting ready. She had a powder puff for my nose when I was a little glossy at the reception. She is a professional and a perfectionist every step of the way. Yes, it can take time to get your photos back but she is very busy editing every photo to ensure they're perfect. She was very good communicating with status updates along the way. As for the pictures, they were amazing. We couldn't be happier! So beautiful, so natural, no strangely posed photos. I also love that once I gave her a list of the family posed shots for after the ceremony, I didn't have to worry. She had the list and made sure everyone was where they needed to be to take those shots efficiently.

Regina did a beautiful job with my sister's wedding photos five years ago, so the one thing I knew when I started planning my own wedding was that I wanted Regina to take the pictures! Our wedding was at the end of May 2011, and Regina provided a complimentary engagement session the previous October, making sure to wait until the leaves were at their peak. This was a great chance for us to get to know Regina better, and the pictures really captured our personalities. On the day of the wedding, Regina was with us from the time I was getting dressed to the very end of the reception, occasionally suggesting poses but never interrupting the flow of events. That may be why the photos really capture the feel of our wedding as it happened. We did the customary poses, of course, but it's her pictures of our dances, conversations, and activities that we'll cherish the most. Furthermore, the gnats were particularly present that day, and my husband was sweating a great deal-- Regina worked her magic and eliminated all the gnats from the pictures and even made my husband look dry-- needless to say, we were impressed. Regina is a pleasure to work with and simply has a feel for capturing special moments that sets her work apart from others. We couldn't be happier with our wedding photos, and I'd recommend Regina in a heartbeat!! (As a side-note, Regina has also done photos of our new nephew, and they're beautiful as well!)

Regina is an amazing photographer! She did our engagement pictures, our wedding pictures and now is about to do our maternity pictures(5/17/13). We are so excited to be working with her again. She is honest and will tell you what to do to make you look the most flattering in your pictures. Love her for that! I highly reccommend booking her. Well, worth the investment.

Regina was the most wonderful photographer. She was very patient and caring making sure to get creative and beautiful shots of us together. She knew what she was doing and made us feel comfortable. And she was very flexible and willing to drive 3 hours to take our engagement photos!!! I most definitely recommend Regina!!!

From the moment I met Regina I knew I wanted to work with her - her work is amazing, and she has a very calming presence (which is nice for a bride!)
She worked with me to rearrange my package to what I most wanted (ie: since I didn't want a bridal portrait she came to a bridal shower). Very nice of her to do that.
Also, when I was getting dressed for the wedding we were having problems figuring out how to get the corset tight enough, and she jumped right in and showed us how to do it. Without her being there, it would have been a disaster!
Absolutely love the photos, and everyone that sees them is so impressed. Definitely worth every penny.

I just love Regina and her photographs were so beautiful it was so hard for us to choose our favorites since all the pictures were wonderful. She was so responsive to our requests for anything and she was so professional. She has a great eye for what pictures and poses will work. She was so understanding when I had to reschedule my bridal portraits when I got stuck in NY. I would definitely recommend her to all my friends and family and anybody who is looking to book a wedding photographer, she is worth every penny we spent plus more! We love Regina.

I can't imagine having anyone else photograph our wedding. Regina has an eye for not only physical detail, but emotional detail. She can focus in on someone's emotions and capture is accurately and honestly. She is a pleasure to work with and accomplishes the right mix of involving herself and stepping back to let things develop. Unlike many other photographers, she knows here craft inside and out and is constantly adding to her creative tool box. We had a wonderful experience with Regina. She is a gem of a person and a professional.

I'm a newlywed from California. We chose Asheville as our destination wedding site because that's where my husband and I first fell in love. You can imagine the logistics in trying to arrange a wedding from afar. It's enough to make you want to elope to Vegas! LOL! Fortunately, we found an angel in our photographer, Regina Holder. Not only was she relaxed, laid back and fun to work with, she is very knowledgeable and helped us find a great flower and cake resource. And this was all before she even shot one picture! (I do have to gush about the extra value she provided us.) As far as the pictures go, all I can say is "Wow." She captured my day through her lens in a memorable and unique way that really portrays our love story. The pictures are so artistic and editorial. She's truly talented. If I had to give her one slight ding on a perfect rating, it was that she was kind of hard to get in touch with on the weekend before the wedding. I sort of panicked because it was the last time I could talk to her before our wedding day. But my fears were alleviated when she texted me after her work day and we chatted the next morning. Frankly, I'd much rather have a wedding photographer who was busy...it made me feel like I had made the right choice. And I did. I'll cherish the photos of my special day for the rest of my life.

Regina photographed my engagement and wedding pictures and I could not be more pleased with the experience and results. I had never had professional photographs taken of me and was nervous about the experience, but she made me and my husband feel very comfortable in front of the camera. I love love love the pictures, especially the unposed ones. She captured so many fun moments of me and my guests - moments I didn't even see or was too overwhelmed to remember - and they are so special to me.
As soon as I sent in the online request, she responded immediately. Her prices are very affordable and she offers great packages. She was always reachable by phone and email. I received the photos after about four months (though we did receive some "teaser" pictures right away which really pleased me!) and they were perfect. I ordered several pictures and small photo books as well as a canvas. Everyone who comes into my house comments on how beautiful they are. I could not be more pleased! Thank you Regina!

The pictures turned out wonderfully! I loved that the engagement shots were part of the package and it was a great way to get to know her. She took some amazing shots, especially action ones, of the ceremony and reception. Beautiful! I would definitely recommend her to future brides.

Regina took absolutely beautiful photos of the wedding. She arrived right on time, but it rained, and we had to push back the service/reception. She was very flexible and stayed extra time to accomodate the changes. It did take a little longer than I expected to get the photos, but it was worth the wait! I got the first preview slide show after about 4 months and the full slide show as well as a CD with all of the digital files after 7 months (with a little prompting). I really appreciate that she includes the digital files and gives you the rights to her photos as part of her package (very few photographers do that). For me, the pictures are the most important part of the day, as they help keep the memory of that day alive and enable you to share it with people who weren't there (including future freinds, relatives and children!), so being able to own those images and use them/share them as you please is very important. In light of that, waiting a little longer for the photos was a little unnerving, but not that big of a deal in the long run. I now own hundreds of beautiful, artistic photos that I will treasure for a lifetime.

Are there images that I love from our wedding day? Yes. Was it worth the aggravation? No. The photographer is the only vendor I regret booking for our wedding day. My main complaints are with her attitude and her lack of communication. The wedding planning for us was done long distance. I was only able to speak to Ms. Holder on the phone and the initial phone conversations went really well. I had expressed an interest in doing a first look on our wedding day and I was under the impression this would not be a problem since she had done them with previous clients. When I brought up the topic again, after I sent in the deposit, I was told my venue wasn’t a good place to do a first look. The photographer was aware of our venue choice when I first asked about this service.

Since I had never done a photo shoot with a professional photographer, I sent two separate e-mails asking if she had any tips or recommendations on what to wear for the engagement photos. She never responded to these e-mails. When we showed up for the engagement shoot I felt she was unhappy with our choice of outfits, which made the engagement shoot even more uncomfortable for me.

Once our wedding was photographed, it was a five month wait before we received the disc of our wedding images. She didn't offer an explanation as to why these images were not delivered by the 3 month deadline that she had set and further told me I was not entitled to know why. When she told us the wait for our wedding images would be two more weeks; we waited two more months.

Prior to our wedding, a check list was provided of moments we wanted photographed. Multiple of these moments were either missed or not included in our wedding images. I had to ask for the images of us feeding cake to one another, because they weren't included initially. I had requested a group shot of everyone, which she did on the day of our wedding. However, the one image of the group she gave to us looks blurry.

Her work is gorgeous, but her attitude is awful. She appeared rather PO'd by my small, non-traditional wedding (38 guests, atheist ceremony), and I think the creativity of her shots reflected that. Her quality was good, but I think her boredom showed in her lack of creative use of a beautiful site. Her website said that she "bonded with her couples" and wanted to really know us. She made no attempt to do that and in fact was a little bit off-putting. She didn't seem to like her job. That said, our wedding photos were very nice. However, her responsiveness after the wedding was a mess. She lied to us about when things would be do, sent things 3-4 weeks after she said she would and copped an attitude in response to my respectful inquiries.

Good pictures, but I would have rather hired someone kinder, more genuine and more open to original, modern weddings.

deliver 110% to my clients and document their day in the most sensitive and
sincere of ways.
Regarding her claim that I had an issue with her modern approach, nothing
could be further from the truth. I have been in the business long enough to
know that love comes in a variety of representations and celebrations.
Beyond that, rain forced her wedding inside with extreme lighting conditions, so I was intensely focused on capturing the images of her ceremony. I honestly was unaware it was an Atheist ceremony until reading this review. I am sure that it is disappointing to plan an event in such a lovely outdoor/pavilion location, only to end up inside and not have the wedding you had envisioned.

I loved my pictures, but it took three months after my wedding before I got my pictures. She was very hard to get in touch with, and, would take a week to two weeks to respond to e-mails.

This review is very disappointing to me after I know how much I did to help this bride. I was slow delivering images from the time she got married as the person helping me quit without notice, but it did not take 3 months! I am always prompt about returning emails and telephone calls. We had problems with her AOL account blocking my responses at one point.

Ms. Regina Holder is a wonderful and creative artist. Her photographs are unique and captured the elegance of our wedding. Moreover, her cost was very attractive. However, I will not recommend her for future shoots.

Let me begin by stating it has been 15 months since our wedding and we have just received the books/portraits we were promised (i.e. for which we paid!). On top of this, Ms. Holder refused to return multiple phone calls and e-mails in a timely manner. At one point, I had to leave three messages a day, for three weeks straight before Ms. Holder replied. With every call came a mountain of excuses from Ms. Holder, such as e-mail problems, sickness, overworked, etc.

Is Ms. Holder a talented photographer? Without a doubt. Are there other talented photographers in Western North Carolina who can return messages and fulfill contract obligations within a year of the wedding? Absolutely!

As this bride validates, the quality of my work is beyond reproach. I love
what I do and get thrilled every time I capture those precious moments that
happen in an instant.
Regarding her criticisms, what she neglects to mention is that her
availability to speak with me over the phone came at odd hours because of
her work schedule. I tried continually to accommodate her schedule. Our
communication was further complicated by the fact her emails were filtered
into my junk folder. As soon as I realized the issue, I addressed her
concerns.
This client also neglects to mention I took the time to reshoot her
engagement photos because she didn't like her hair in the initial session. I
tried very hard to make her a satisfied client. I am glad she values the
quality of the pictures. I'm hoping that outweighs what ever misperceptions
she has about the service I delivered to her.

We have been married for 7.5 years and have never received the copyright for our pictures which was part of the package we purchased. Beautiful pictures but no follow through after the wedding. We received the prints (all 4x6) but never received the "other" part of our package so all we have are 4x6 copies of pictures. I emailed Regina about 2 years ago regarding this in which she replied she was working on it....I have never heard back from her.

She does wonderful work and takes great photos for weddings. It's the everything else which is the problem. To echo others comments, it's been over 1 year and we still don't have our pics!! She never made a single deadline, was rude the day of our wedding and even asked us to pay her early for another one of her excuses!! She is terribly unorganized and it shows. She is impossible to get in contact with once she gets your check. If you go with her, I would pay her for the day's time only and then pay for her pics once she actually produces them (which we're still waiting on!!). She's so cheap because she takes your money to pay someone else's bills so they can get their pics. That's the only explanation we have. Great pics, terrible otherwise. If she had a personal assistant and better attitude, she would be amazing.

I am a professional and so I want to deal with this post in the most professional of ways. There are multiple things in this feedback that the groom neglected to include. The most important of which is the fact that the delay in the delivery of his album had to do with the company I contract with to produce the albums. As a business owner, I believe I must take responsibility for the companies I do business with and advocate for my client, which I did in this instance. In spite of the company’s issues with the delivery, the album arrived two weeks late. I understand that must seem like an eternity when you’re waiting on your wedding album, but because I pushed the company, I was able to reduce their wait time significantly.
