Vendor deals with loose diamonds. I was referred by a coworker of mine who was recently married. Her fiance had gotten his loose diamond from them. If you are an engineer or science-minded, they have some nice guides describing the angles you'd want to look for and specifically how ideal cuts can be different. Just remember, people who deal with diamonds have a much more discerning eye. Anyway, I was still shopping around and found some diamond dropshippers. I was looking at diabroker.com and they had sent me a GIA report with the angles. It matched the specs given by niceice. But because it was my first time buying a diamond, I still had niceice look at it for a nominal fee (I think around $200-$300) which included an appraisal. It was about 3-4% of the diamond. Even this company is basked out of the west coast, I had a phenomenal experience with them. They used a graphic design software to show me what my engagement ring would look like stacked upon their wedding band. It was gorgeous but I was still hesitant buying it online. They offer free shipping and free returns so there’s no risk if you don’t like it!

Dave at Timmreck & McNicol is such a pleasure to work with. He really takes time to show you the rings, have you try on things and doesn't rush you into decisions. We ordered my husbands ring while up visiting my in-laws and it was just what he wanted. Dave really helped guide him through what rings looked better on his finger and the different types of metal choices we could get that would wear well for him. Not only is he great to work with on your wedding jewelry but also on anything you might need in the future. The whole staff is a pleasure to work with and we still visit now for our jewelry needs 2 kids later!

They clean and inspect my ring for free, and I get compliments on my ring's sparkle all the time. They are a little pricier than a big chain store, but they're small, locally owned and GREAT quality (so worth it!). I will always be going to them for all my jewelry needs.

Literally the only place I will shop for jewelry again, I think. I moved 4 hours away, but I will come back there to buy anything for my husband or I.
