My husband and I are from California but decided to get married in October 2024 in Northeastern Ohio. Our reception was held at the Bertram Inn and Conference Center - what a wonderful place to hold our event! Trying to coordinate my wedding/reception from over 2,000 miles away was challenging but working with Alex Shaffer-Rondinella and her team made the whole process easy and enjoyable. Throughout the many months of planning, Alex was professional, friendly, patient, knowledgeable, answered my many questions and always got back to my right away. She went out of her way to accommodate any request that I had, if it was at all possible to do so. Everything I asked for was taken care of. The ballroom where our event was held looked gorgeous; the wedding cake was more beautiful than I could have imagined and everyone who attending had a wonderful time. My husband and I are thrilled at how our reception/after party turned out. Honestly, everyone should be lucky enough to work with Alex and her team at the Bertram - they're fantastic! I can't say enough good things about my experience and if there was a way to give Alex and her team a 6+ star review, I would.

If you want an amazing experience for your wedding guests and an amazing, low-stress wedding experience for yourself, pick Inn Walden for your wedding venue. Walden is a gorgeous venue on its own, but it was Makenna who made it the perfect venue for us. I can’t overstate how incredible she and her team are. From the very first tour of Inn Walden all the way to the wedding day, she stayed in touch; always helpful, always thoughtful. She offered advice, guidance, and reassurance every step of the way. What impressed us most, though, was how seamlessly she handled the actual wedding day. If there were hiccups behind the scene, we were never privy to them, because everything just felt effortless. It honestly felt like we were guests at our own celebration. We never once worried about the cake, the flowers, or whether things were where they were supposed to be. Makenna and her team handled all of it. She went above and beyond even checking in on us, offering drinks or a quiet space if we needed a breather. She even made sure gifts and cards ended up in our room, and even put some of our cake upstairs for us at the end of the night. Some other things we were super grateful for that Walden did: - We had several guests in attendance with dietary restrictions (vegetarians, gluten-free, lactose intolerance) and food allergies. I was incredibly impressed and relieved with how Walden documented these in their online platform so that we knew our guests would not go hungry or worry about their safety on the wedding day. - My 93-year-old grandmother needed to use a wheelchair and she wasn't sure what her energy levels would be on the wedding day. They were extremely thoughtful when it came to her experience (e.g. planning for whether she would want to stay in her wheelchair or sit in a regular chair at dinnertime). - If you are the type of person who will overlook your own need to eat, drink, or take breaks, Walden makes sure that the newlyweds get to eat. They set aside hors d'oeuvres from the cocktail hour at the head table, and put slices of cake in the wedding suite. - Having guests stay at the inn the night before and/or the night of the wedding is really special. I got rooms for my wedding party members and parents on the night of the wedding, and we were able to have breakfast together the morning after the wedding. It was so nice to have a quiet moment together to wind things down.

From start to finish we were met with genuine kindness and professionalism. Transparency in every step. The day off was perfect in every way and we were able to enjoy every moment. The food was top notch!

Jess and Naomi are 2 our favorite people anyway but they were absolutely what we needed and wanted for our ceremony. They knew us well enough to add personal details to our ceremony. We had some special needs where sensitivity was required and could not have wanted it handled any better. My advice is ALWAYS to have an officiant that you know and that knows you. It makes a HUGE difference.
