I am SO happy that we decided on Hotel Ballast for our ceremony and reception venue. The wedding packages they provide, you cannot beat! Literally everything you need to make a ceremony and reception happen, is included in their packages. I can't even imagine having to find and hire each individual vendor ourselves; they do all that work for you, and that was a huge load off our shoulders. We went with the Amethyst package and had an open bar for 3 hours. We had so many of our guest come up to us and tell us how stunning the venue is, how amazing the food was, how beautiful the decor is, etc. Karen was our wedding coordinator and she was so helpful and kind during each and every step of our planning! Both the ceremony and reception were held indoors; she ensured that the chairs during the ceremony and the tables during the reception were socially distanced. Highly recommend this hotel as a venue, and ask for Karen!

If you are looking for a beautiful wedding location but not trying to break the bank, then look no further. Ellen, the director, was an absolutely blessing! She was on top of everything, great communication, and very supportive. She was fantastic! I couldn’t have asked for a better wedding director. She worked with us for our wedding, and our rehearsal dinner (even if it was last minute). She worked with our budget, and did everything in her power to make it beautiful. Thank you Ellen for everything!!! Absolutely blessing! As for catering, it’s hit or miss. You need to have every little bit of direct communication with the main caterer lady. When talking to her, make sure you have everything in writing on your end and screenshots! She will mix up everything and act like you didn’t communicate with her prior to. So just beware, maybe the extra $10 per person for outside catering is worth it. Who knows? Overall, very beautiful wedding. We couldn’t have asked for anything better. Thank you Ellen!!!🤍

128 South is the perfect venue! From the initial venue tour to the wedding day of Katie was there every step of the way. Katie and her team's communication, attitude, and adaptability were outstanding. Philip is a master chef! The food was fantastic, we received endless compliments from our guests about the hors d'oeuvres and the mains being delicious. The service staff is timely, kind, and never miss a beat. We were blown away with how perfectly the day ran, thanks to the entire 128 South team!

Our wedding went off without a hitch!! Everyone was so attentive and helpful. We would choose to get married here if we had to do it over.

From the moment we chose Aloft Wilmington at Coastline Center for our wedding venue, we knew we had made the perfect choice. The venue itself is nothing short of amazing, offering a blend of elegant space that was both inviting and mesmerizing. It served as the ideal backdrop for our special day, providing us and our guests with memories we will cherish forever. We opted for both the Atlantic Room and Platform Room, eliminating the need for a room flip and allowing guests to simply walk through a door to transition from the ceremony to the reception. Additionally, its proximity to the downtown Riverwalk made for stunning bridal and group photos. Not only was the space itself remarkable, featuring brick walls and tall windows that allowed for lots of natural light, but the food and service were equally impressive. The catering provided by Aloft Wilmington was exceptional, with everything being a hit among our guests. From hors d'oeuvres to entrees and sides, even a selection of desserts beyond just our wedding cake that we were not expecting but was a delightful surprise. The dessert selection included carrot cake that was to die for, heart-shaped brownies with powdered sugar, and much more. The variety and quality of the food exceeded our expectations, clearly showing the care and expertise that went into each item prepared. Did I mention the exceptional effort put into our wedding cake? Delivered as a plain white 3-tier cake from Sam’s Club, it was the venue staff who offered to use extra flowers to enhance its appearance. Remarkably, they took this initiative even though the cake was not prepared in-house, a gesture they were under no obligation to make. The transformation exceeded anything I could have ever imagined. I was truly blown away by the outcome, a testament to their exceeding expectations! The bartending service was another highlight of the evening. No one had to wait long at the bar, thanks to the efficient and friendly staff who made sure everyone was served quickly and with a smile. This attention to detail and dedication to guest satisfaction was a common theme throughout the evening. What set Aloft Wilmington apart even further was the incredible staff. Everyone was very attentive to us and our guests. They went above and beyond to ensure that our wedding ran smoothly and that every need was met with enthusiasm and professionalism. Aloft Wilmington also demonstrated great flexibility and understanding by allowing us to drop off items the Friday before our wedding and pick them up the Sunday after. This gesture greatly alleviated our stress and allowed us to focus on enjoying our weekend without worrying about logistics. Choosing Aloft Wilmington at Coastline Center as our wedding venue was one of the best decisions we made. The amazing space, delicious food, impeccable service, and attentive staff made our wedding day truly unforgettable. We cannot thank them enough for their dedication and for playing such a pivotal role in making our wedding celebration a resounding success.

Blockade Runner was a great choice for us as a couple who live in Wilmington, with practically all out-of-town guests. We were grateful for a venue that offered us a simple backup plan in case of rain as well. The day-of coordinator worked closely with us to make sure our plan was executed. She checked in with the vendors on her own to make sure everyone was comfortable and prepared. We were able to visit twice to talk to her in person. There is a lot of staff turnover, so Renee took over partway between our initial deposit and the wedding itself. The Blockade Runner was flexible on our selections for the Social menu. Food is definitely pricey, but it was high quality and our guests seemed to enjoy it as well. Bonus points for bringing the bride and groom a tray of hors d'oeuvres during the cocktail hour. The reception was well-staffed for our 70 guests, including the bar. We appreciated the flexibility to switch one of the alcohol selections as well. Room reservations were one part that did not go smoothly. Our guests had difficulty being identified with our room block, and later were told no rooms were available in the block. We were never notified that the block was full until well after these goings-on. Guests interpreted no rooms left in the block as no rooms at the hotel and stayed elsewhere. A little communication directly with the bride and groom when the block was nearly full might have helped alleviate the stress and even brought the Blockade Runner a few more guests. The rooms themselves were lovely. The bride had no trouble getting ready in their room with a few people hanging out, and the ocean views are stunning. Staff was very patient when 40+ wedding attendees crashed into the morning brunch hour at once. Overall, the hotel staff did a fantastic job of taking care of details, setup, teardown, and service. They made our wedding planning pretty easy, and we enjoyed the day and the grounds. Pricey, but splendid service.

Wrightsville Manor was truly everything I had dreamed and more. The communication from the venue team was amazing and they were so flexible as we prepared last minute rain plans (which we luckily did not need). Their bar packages are SO reasonable priced and everyone raved about the options and the service. I cannot recommend this venue enough, they are amazing at what they do and I would do it all over again!

Bakery 105 was truly the perfect venue for our 100 person wedding. The customer service was so unbelievably excellent from start to finish. They are expert level at hosting wonderful weddings and I am so glad mine is now on the list! Could not recommend more.

We planned a very small wedding and reception (40 ppl) at Little Drum Landing in 14 days. Lindsey the coordinator was very responsive and helpful in the planning. The venue included all tables, chairs, china, utensils and set up so we didn’t have to worry about anything! The appetizers and main were delicious and the service from the staff was exceptional. It was affordable and low stress which is exactly what we needed.

St Thomas is so charming and catered to our every need! I highly recommend to anyone in the Wilmington area.
