We hosted a wedding at the Book Tower and could not have been happier with the results. From the Terrace Room where the bridal party got ready, to the picturesque cocktail hour at Kamper's Rooftop overlooking the city , to the beautiful atrium reception and the after party - everything was wonderful and the service was amazing. Our guests raved about the food, the ambiance, and the bar was second to none! No one wanted to leave which made the after party a little larger than expected but that was a good thing. The planning was smooth from start to finish. Communication was excellent and they were very flexible with special requests we made. The space is perfect for up to 175 guests with a dance floor.

We used the Marriot as our honeymoon suite for the night and for our guests as a block set of rooms. From our guests we received many compliments from the Marriot, along with the incredible views, location, and helpful staff, (they also appreciated the reduced rate as a block room). The staff made sure to get my guests welcome bags we created for those booked in our block rooms. Our event specialist was Liz, and I have to personally thank her for her prompt responses with emails and making sure my requests were met. I asked for a room on a high floor overlooking the city, and we had the perfect room! We could see the city (including stadiums) and ambassadors bridge from our suite. Liz met us in the lobby when we checked in and even left a surprise for us when we returned to our room after the wedding: champagne and strawberries ! It was a great was for my husband and I to end our evening recapping our wonderful wedding day. Even though we are from the surrounding area, we look forward to staying again sometime in the future!

We got married at the Roostertail in October 2025, and it was absolutely stunning. The recent renovations and waterfront location on the Detroit River created breathtaking views of the skyline, river, and even Canada. Our glass-enclosed room with panoramic windows gave us the perfect sunset backdrop. Inside, everything was immaculate with modern, elegant décor. The food and service were phenomenal, and the staff was organized, attentive, and genuinely warm—they truly made us feel like the only wedding that night. Our guests still rave about how beautiful everything was. It was one of the best days of our lives. Everything was perfect.. thank you, Roostertail!

The DYC was incredible and we couldn't have picked a better venue for our wedding, it is truly a beautiful building, we barely needed any decorations! Lena was very kind and helped everything run super smoothly, and the food was also amazing!

We booked the Westin for our daughter’s rehearsal dinner and Sunday morning breakfast. The catering manager was very easy to work with, helpful and responsive. We had about 50 guests at each event. We used the Italian Garden, Crystal Ballroom and the Esquire Room. Of the three, the Esquire Room is the most “conference” like, but it was fine for breakfast. Menu options are fairly extensive and the buffet we chose for dinner had soup, salad, sides, three entree options snd desserts. The food was good. We also offered passed hors d’ouvres and the tapas bar before dinner. In hindsight, we didn’t need the tapas bar. This venue was very convenient for our out of town guests, the majority of whom stayed at the hotel. We were very pleased with our choice.

Our wedding day was fantastic and went smoothly thanks to the professionalism and coordination from the staff at the Fillmore. Big thank you to Alix Heinz and Krysten Cole (our wedding coordinators) for being phenomenal from start to end and incredibly helpful/quick in answering all of our questions and concerns throughout the wedding planning. The communication executed by the Fillmore between all of our vendors was excellent and made us feel at ease as we came closer to the wedding day. The team did a great job in following through with details and organizing our itinerary in a way that was easy for us to communicate to our vendors. We appreciate Alix and Krysten meeting with our vendors when they needed to check out the theater and relaying any important info. to us as soon as they came up. We also know that facilitating a wedding for 500+ people is not easy and we were amazed to hear that the seating assignments went smoothly thanks to the Fillmore's assistance in directing people to their seats. Alix recommended several great vendors that we ended up using and we were happy with the turnout. She also offered helpful advice as she was recently a bride herself so it was nice to hear first-hand experiences from the Fillmore team. Thank you Detroit Fillmore for your event coordination services! It was truly a wedding dream come true for us.

Choosing The Colony Club as our wedding reception venue was one of the best decisions we made. After getting engaged, we toured multiple metro and downtown Detroit venues with the hope of finding something elegant, classic, and timeless. Many were beautiful—but when we walked into The Colony Club, we immediately felt that this was the one. The entire style and vibe were exactly what we were looking for. We fell in love with every space—from Bar Charles to the breathtaking Grand Ballroom. We were also impressed by how much was included without extra add-on costs: tables, chairs, food, liquor, signature drinks, and more. It made planning easier and helped us stay within budget. From our very first meeting, we worked with Amber, our sales manager, and she stayed with us up until the week of the wedding. Amber was absolutely exceptional throughout the entire process. She was helpful, organized, flexible, and so easy to communicate with. We met multiple times at the venue, both with and without her, while making decisions for the big day, and she was always available to answer questions, address concerns, and offer thoughtful advice. Amber took care of coordinating with our other vendors, and I never once felt worried about how things would come together. Even during the stressful week leading up to the wedding—when I was emailing and calling constantly—she was patient, reassuring, and truly amazing to work with. Now the food… wow. It was exceptional! We still have guests raving about everything—from the appetizers to the entrées. The service and quality exceeded all of our expectations, and friends and family continue to tell us what an incredible wedding it was. From our very first appointment with Amber to the moment our reception began, we could not imagine having our wedding anywhere else. We will always look back on our wedding day with so much gratitude, happiness, and appreciation that we chose The Colony Club. If you’re considering this venue, trust me—you will not regret it!

Sophie and her staff are fantastic! Super organized and very professional! Throughout the whole planning process they made us feel like royalty. This led into our wedding night with the staff continuing to make sure we were happy and our drinks were filled. Everyone was very helpful when bringing in items for the wedding as packing up everything at the end of the night! Thank you for making our wedding perfect!

In short: we couldn't have asked for a better venue for our wedding. We worked with Taliah to plan and prepare our wedding there, and the process was incredibly smooth, detailed, and organized. She left no stone unturned and helped us make decisions on things we never would have thought about - there are so many things, both large and little, that make for a great wedding, and it was clear on our day that they were ready for all of them. Every single person we interacted with at every level of staff was very kind, thoughtful, and attentive. Our guests remarked on how amazing the venue is; pictures barely do it justice. We feel very fortunate to have had our wedding at the Gem, it was everything we could've wanted and more for our special day.

We absolutely loved Amnesia at Motor City for our wedding! From start to finish we felt well cared for and Kristen (the Conference and Catering Sales Manager) was amazingly helpful throughout the planning process. We felt so looked after - not only in her and her staff helping us with any questions that came to mind, but also because of her proactivity in asking the questions that wouldn’t have come to mind, knowing the space, and being able to guide us whilst creatively tailoring an evening that felt unique and completely representative of us. The view from Amnesia (their old night club, now an event space) was absolutely breathtaking, especially at night, and we received so many compliments from our guests on how lovely the entire evening was. Everyone also spoke extremely highly of the entire staff at Motor City, from the valet attendants to the bartenders to the wait staff to housekeeping! We ended up with 120 guests total and it was a perfect amount for the space, although really we could have fit a couple more tables in with plenty of room! Also, as it used to be a night club, the entire space is already wired for sound and lighting and Motor City provides employees to oversee them both the night of the wedding! We looked around at many potential venues throughout the metro Detroit area, but I am very happy we chose Motor City! As far as the prices, you will 100% get the most bang for your buck compared to the other venues in Detroit! :)
