Choosing The Colony Club as our wedding reception venue was one of the best decisions we made. After getting engaged, we toured multiple metro and downtown Detroit venues with the hope of finding something elegant, classic, and timeless. Many were beautiful—but when we walked into The Colony Club, we immediately felt that this was the one. The entire style and vibe were exactly what we were looking for. We fell in love with every space—from Bar Charles to the breathtaking Grand Ballroom.
We were also impressed by how much was included without extra add-on costs: tables, chairs, food, liquor, signature drinks, and more. It made planning easier and helped us stay within budget.
From our very first meeting, we worked with Amber, our sales manager, and she stayed with us up until the week of the wedding. Amber was absolutely exceptional throughout the entire process. She was helpful, organized, flexible, and so easy to communicate with. We met multiple times at the venue, both with and without her, while making decisions for the big day, and she was always available to answer questions, address concerns, and offer thoughtful advice.
Amber took care of coordinating with our other vendors, and I never once felt worried about how things would come together. Even during the stressful week leading up to the wedding—when I was emailing and calling constantly—she was patient, reassuring, and truly amazing to work with.
Now the food… wow. It was exceptional! We still have guests raving about everything—from the appetizers to the entrées. The service and quality exceeded all of our expectations, and friends and family continue to tell us what an incredible wedding it was.
From our very first appointment with Amber to the moment our reception began, we could not imagine having our wedding anywhere else. We will always look back on our wedding day with so much gratitude, happiness, and appreciation that we chose The Colony Club.

The colony club is a stunning venue. The ballroom stands by itself and does not need any decor. The colony club was super flexible and super easy to work with. Almost any idea we had they made it work. It was very nice to have a venue that also does the catering. The food was great and good sized portions. The staff were all extremely professional.

We truly could not have asked for a better wedding venue than the Colony Club. From the second we booked, the experience was effortless and so enjoyable. Taliah was absolutely incredible to work with. She was so personable, responsive, and helpful throughout the entire planning process. She went above and beyond for us, and even came to say hi on our wedding day, despite not being our day-of coordinator. That small but meaningful gesture really showed how much she cares.

On the day of our wedding, we worked with Nathalie as our on-site coordinator, and she was just as amazing! She made sure every detail was perfect and helped the entire day run smoothly. We were able to fully relax and soak in every moment knowing she had everything handled.

The food was absolutely perfect, delicious, beautifully presented, and raved about by all of our guests. It truly exceeded our expectations.

My husband and I selected the Colony Club for our wedding venue, and it did not disappoint. From our very first walkthrough, we were sold on the Colony Club’s beauty and booked it immediately. This venue was everything we could have ever hoped for, and the staff was amazing to work with. Taliah was our catering sales manager and is the absolute best. She was so easy to communicate with and made sure that all our questions were answered in a timely manner...and we had A LOT. She coordinated everything perfectly and made sure that everything leading up to wedding week was exactly what he wanted. Dylan took over as our venue manager week of and executed our vision flawlessly. Our wedding was everything we could have ever hoped for and more. They also did a wonderful job catering; the food was delicious, and the variety of choices allowed us to really personalize our menu. If you are considering booking the Colony Club for your wedding, do it...easily the best choice we made.

The Colony Club is the way to go for your wedding! We had our ceremony and reception at the colony club and couldn’t be happier with the food, drinks, staff and the location. We only had 70 attend our wedding so we used the petite ballroom on the 4th floor. It was perfect! It is just as pretty as the grand ballroom but for our needs better. From the moment we toured the venue until we left after the wedding everyone was amazing! The Colony Club knows what they are doing! Taliah was our sales manager and was super responsive with any question or concern we had leading up to the week before the wedding. Then Nathalie took over and was there for our rehearsal as well as all night the night of our wedding. I never worried about anything that night, everything was handled and handled exactly how we discussed during our final venue walk through.
I received several compliments on everything from the food and drinks to the interaction the guests had with the servers. I’ve also been told multiple times that it’s the best wedding people have ever been to. But the real compliment comes from my great aunt who is in her 90s, and this well most likely be the last wedding she will ever attend… she said she felt like she was at a celebrity wedding, I’m so happy that we picked the Colony Club for that reason alone. They made everything run smoothly, if anything went wrong that night, I don’t know about it! The colony club is the perfect venue! I wish I could give more that 5 stars because it deserves 5 times that!

Every staff member at the Colony Club was so kind. From the moment we reached out to the day of our wedding, everyone was very responsive, helpful and kind. We truly had the best day ever. The venue was gorgeous and accommodating and the food was amazing. Our guests said it was one of the best weddings they have ever attended.

Having our wedding at the Colony Club was an exceptional experience. The most impressive part was the service we received from our sales manager Amber, who was with us from our first tour thru our tasting and until our wedding day. Having a consistent point of contact was valuable in itself but Amber also was super responsive and helpful in coordinating details like our menu selections, floor plan, and vendor logistics. On the day of the wedding, the service staff was friendly, professional, and met all of our expectations. The food was delicious, attractively plated and received compliments from many of our guests. Of course the venue itself is gorgeous, but all aspects of the Colony Club and Forbes Hospitality made our wedding a truly premium experience.

Everything was AMAZING !!! Every single staff member in the building on Sunday was so nice and attentive to our guests! (they told us they enjoyed our event as well ;))

Taliah was great to work with!! As an out of state bride, she put up with all our questions, emails, and phone calls!

My wife and I were recently married at the Colony Club, and had an absolutely fantastic experience. It's a beautiful venue with a lovely staff; the in-house food is excellent (fun tastings, too), and the staff works very well with outside vendors. The newly renovated cocktail spaces are fantastic, and the bartenders know exactly what they're doing. Special thanks to Jaime, who worked with us through the entire planning process and regularly touched base to ensure everything ran smoothly! We're still receiving compliments on the location, and we honestly cannot recommend this place highly enough.

All the staff was awesome at the Colony Club. We had the day of our lives. Samantha Sant was awesome to deal with, answered all our questions and was open to anything we wanted to. Event Managers were awesome too. Can’t thank them enough about what the have done. Thank you everyone
