Wiseacre was an absolutely beautiful place to get married and we have been through many weddings with our group of friends, but this was easily the most unique venue that everyone is still talking about.

With Wiseacre, you're getting more than just the amazing lake view, the phenomenal architecture, and the eclectic art. You're also getting Chuck Taylor as the man who runs it. Chuck can offer just his hospitality services alone and it'd be worth every penny. But the fact that he comes with Wiseacre makes this venue feel like a steal. I sincerely can't even imagine a more perfect place for my wife and I to have had our wedding.

Nitty Gritty details:

We had the venue from Fri afternoon- Mon morning, hosting our rehearsal dinner, wedding, and reception all on site.
Having our rehearsal on site gave such an invaluable peace of mind. We were able to see exactly how our ideas for the wedding day would be implemented and if they'd be effective. We were able to have everything set up at our own pace, and preference, and we were able to break everything down after the wedding day the same way. I can't overstate how vital that was for our own sanity!

Chuck has blueprints of the spaces, allowing for you to be able to meticulously plan and figure out how you would like to set everything up.

The pricing was very reasonable, and incredibly upfront. No hidden fees, no service charges, none of that. Whatever you think you're gonna pay is exactly what you end up paying. That transparency was awesome, and allowed for us to be able to more correctly budget everything else.

Since Chuck is worthy enough as a stand alone service, I'll throw in a little review of him as well.
Chuck is, for lack of a better word, perfect.
He was part Butler/Friend/Host/Chameleon/Therapist.
I imagine what every couple planning their wedding needs.
He's in the background, blending into everything, helping things run smoothly during the big day, he's the man with so many answers and helpful hints/suggestions during the planning process, and also just a great human being to have as a part of the nightmare that is planning a wedding. I can't say enough nice things about him and his beautiful home.

OMG!!! I love to find hidden gems & wiseacres estates is the biggest hidden gems of Virginia Beach/ Norfolk area! To be an Airbnb/VENUE is absolutely everything and more. Chuck is the kindest soul you’ll every meet. From the time you start the process to the end he spreads love and light. With a million dollar smile and an amazing view of water surrounding the 2 acres of land he has, I just could not get enough of it. Wise Acre is the perfect venue! It’s beautiful and it comes with Chuck! He is so helpful! Not to mention funny! And he put up with my family, which can be hard to do! All of my guests had a great time and complimented us for choosing wiseacre. It was a lot of fun having the bridal parties hair and makeup done there too! So glad we went with it! Great place!

Me and my wife definitely had a great time at Wiseacre Estate. This was the perfect place to have our wedding and reception. It was plenty of space for our special moment. Chuck and Geoff definitely were humorous, caring, and devoted to making sure everything went well and on time. It has a spot for the DJ, kitchen, and a Bar area. The outside view and landscape were great as well. The atmosphere with Chuck and Geoff is like family and like we knew them forever. Me and my wife recommend Wiseacres Estate to all. This is the perfect place to host events at, breakfast in bed, or an AirBnB. I give it 5 Stars out of 5 Stars and if I could give them 10 Stars I would. The moment I saw Wiseacre, I know it’s where I wanted to get married at. Right up until the day of the wedding, I planned for everything to be outside with the gorgeous view of the lake. However for some reason, this one Saturday in March decided to have a tornado warning, torrential down pour, SNOW and wind that you could hear whistling through the house. So that morning we decided to move everything inside and Chuck knew exactly the plan for us to still enjoy our day. Being able to stay at Wiseacre the entire weekend was such a blessing because I never had to worry about what was happening or if I would be late, we had our rehearsal dinner there and it was awesome to have everything in one place, no rushing around. Although the day went nothing like planned, it was the most amazing day and we will forever be grateful to all the people that came together to create a beautiful wedding.

Our vow renewal was so beautiful from the backdrop to the special care Chuck took with us and our guests. The Wiseacre Estate family helped make our day stress free as the stepped up and took on roles we didn't even expect. I highly recommend this establishment for your wedding or vow renewal.

Chuck & Geoff we’re so understanding and amazing!! Last minute we had to change our ceremony from being outside to inside the Wiseacre estate and Chuck and Geoff worked it out! Chuck’s space is so versatile. We received so many compliments on how unique and beautiful the space was. I definitely recommend doing a 3 or 4 day stay. We did our bachelor bachelorette party here, rehearsal dinner, a day just for the two of us, and then brunch with both families. We had a great time and so many memories were created that we will cherish for a lifetime. Thank you Chuck and Geoff!

Wiseacres is a dreamy place with a scenery and view that is top notch. Really amazing to be able to have a wedding venue for a weekend. Really nice to be able to enjoy the wedding weekend with family and friends. The inside ballroom is fabulous and the outdoor space is amazing. It is surrounded by water and a magical place!

From the moment we first met with Chuck, we knew this was the place for our wedding reception. Our wedding was 11/2/19 at Botanical Garden, 4 minutes away from Wiseacre!!! How perfect!
