Perfect for our very intimate wedding

The residence is absolutely stunning and very spacious! We had 23 guests and there was plenty of space for everyone without it feeling too large! Aaron was amazing the day of letting us know everything we needed to know, checking up on us, and taking care of the little last minute details (grass cutting, 1/2 round linens, etc)! The only decorations I used were vases full of flowers on the fireplace mantles and my own signage! We did have to rent our ceremony chairs since it was in the garden and they don鈥檛 allow their chairs outside but that was no big deal! We rented out the largest room upstairs for everyone to get ready in and were able to close a door and have the guys get ready on the other side without seeing us!

My husband and I chose the Commanding Generals Residence and Garden for our reception site for our intimate wedding (~60 guests). This venue was perfect. Not only did we love the history behind the location, but we loved Fort Monroe for all it offered for the pictures. My guest felt the location was perfect, as it provided a smaller location where we were able to mingle with guests, as well as dance under the moon light. I highly recommend this venue!
