About this venue
Historic Eyreville is a picturesque waterfront estate, perfect for weddings and other special events, just a few miles north of Cape Charles, on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. With 30 acres of beautifully maintained grounds, on Cherrystone Creek, the property has plenty of expansive open spaces, mature trees, and unparralled waterfront views to provide the perfect backdrop for all sorts of celebrations. After many years of offering their homeplace to friends for their own special occasions, this family-owned and operated company is excited to welcome couples to enjoy their beloved grounds.
The centerpiece of the venue, and the most unique aspect of the property, is the Oyster House; built in1940, specifically for roasting oysters. The octagonal brick building boasts a remarkable heart pine tall-table that stretches nearly the length of the room, a large fireplace, and small kitchen. Four tables with bench and chair seating, and room for 16 at the tall-table, allows for 40 seated guests. It's perfect for any small gathering, especially couples looking for a venue for their pre-wedding events, such as the rehearsal dinner or welcome party, or even a Sunday Brunch.
The Oyster House and surrounding waterfront area is perfect for entertaining. Extra tables and chairs, yard games, and relaxed seating outdoors await your guests. There is plenty of space for a large tent, complete with dance floor, along the water. The expansive yard offers options for ceremonial areas away from the reception area as well.
There is plenty of space for up to 300 guests, inlcuding ample parking.
Couples will get to enjoy a vibrant wedding day that feels fresh, memorable, and distinctly their own, on an historic property that's hosted 100's of gatherings over its 400-year recorded existance. You'll enjoy a beautiful sunset over the water, dine and dance the night away in an elegant tent under the shining stars.
