Located in Northport, Michigan, NORTH of Traverse City in Leelanau Wine Country!

Willowbrook Mill is a historic wedding venue that combines rustic charm with casual elegance. Originally built in 1879, this event center is nestled in the heart of the Leelanau Peninsula’s tranquil wine country. The property is just steps from the shores of the Grand Traverse Bay and is one of four buildings in Michigan that is constructed over water. Guests in town for the weekend will enjoy dining and shopping at Northport’s restaurants and boutiques. Adventurous visitors can even opt for water sports such as kayaking, fishing, and boating. For your special day, this breathtaking venue will provide an atmospheric backdrop to your celebration of love.

Facilities and Capacity
Willowbrook Mill offers a variety of event spaces that you can customize for different phases of your wedding.The ballroom can seat up to 130 guests for dinner and features elegant crystal chandeliers that drape from the exposed rafter ceiling. The hall is also adorned with stone surrounded windows, a large stone fireplace, and hardwood floors. In addition, the building comes with a foyer, porch bar, walkway bridge and a stone patio flush with verdant plants.

Willowbrook Mill is open for summer, fall, and winter weddings. Rentals include 60-inch round tables, a selection of high- and low-top cocktail tables, white folding chairs. I cannot say enough wonderful things about The Willowbrook Mill, or the venue owners, Mimi and Samantha. For the almost two years we were engaged, Mimi was there for us every step of the way, she helped us see a vision we didn't even know was possible, and helped us execute it flawlessly. Mimi and Samantha both went above and beyond their roles, even going as far as contacting local government figures to try to sort out a situation that occurred with our ceremony site that was in no way affiliated with their business at all. Not only is The Willowbrook Mill hands down the most gorgeous and unique event venue in Northern Michigan, the owners Mimi and Samantha are the icing on the cake. Our wedding day was the best day of our lives, and I owe a great debt of gratitude to The Willowbrook Mill for everything they did to contribute to that.

We got married on June 10th 2017 and had the best day of our lives! Samantha and Mimi were more than accommodating to us. This was a destination wedding for us and they were so easy to plan with and they were very detailed in their responses and quick with replies. They made the process very easy and had great suggestions! We were in love with Willowbrook Mill as soon as we toured the venue. There is no other place like it and it really shows what Northern Michigan is all about. On the day of the wedding when I arrived Samantha and Mimi were there and checked in with me right away. They offered me a bottle of water and a side room if I needed to take a break and a mirror for me to touch up my make up! They are amazing!! Our day would not have gone as smoothly without them! We are so happy with how everything turned out! We love you guys!

Perfect. Just perfect. Willowbrook Mill was truly magical and Samantha made sure that everything was exactly how it should be. I couldn't have asked for anything more. Choose Willowbrook, it will be one of the best decisions you make!

Samantha and the Heberlein family were beyond accommodating! They did not have an event scheduled the day before our wedding, so we were able to get into the mill early to set everything up. This was a HUGE stress relief! They responded quickly to every request, were beyond flexible, and even helped us set up! Our guests were amazed at the beauty of the mill. I loved every detail of the day and would recommend the mill and working with the Heberlein family to anyone!

Patrick and his wife were absolutely wonderful to work with. They let us get in a day early to set up and clean up the day after the wedding, so it was much less stressful on the day of the wedding. They were very accommodating and were willing to do whatever we needed to have the best wedding day ever. The venue is so beautiful, we didn't have to bring many decorations at all. The guests loved the indoor/outdoor feel and many of them enjoyed the nice weather outside.

If you're looking for a unique venue that mixes rustic AND elegant style, you HAVE to go to the Willowbrook. All night guests were asking how I found such a cool place (our families are from around Grand Rapids and Lansing but most made the drive). Pat and Kathleen were great to work with. You can tell that they go into business with the mentality of making your experience a great one. They are really flexible but will also offer suggestions (in a non-pushy way) if you're looking for guidance.

I even had Kathleen do our flowers. They were beautiful! She really knows how to compliment the venue and your wedding style.

Pat and Kathleen were a joy to work with. From the very beginning our wedding planning experience and event were both lovely. The venue was beautiful, and they were very helpful when it came to finding local vendors and providing tips for almost everything. If I were getting married again, I would marry the same man, and use The Willowbrook Mill again.

This place is so beautiful and the owners are so helpful! They really stepped in when needed and did most of the set up! I highly recommend this venue for a smaller wedding. It was absolute perfect for our day :)

Wonderful venue run by wonderful people who have great ideas and recommendations. Cost is not inexpensive, but very comparable and competitive with other venues in the region. Our guests loved the site, and we cannot imagine a better place in northern Michigan (and we did the research!).
