Fabulous Wedding Venue!

The staff is all fabulous and truly made us feel special on our wedding day. We loved the ballroom space especially for how much room they offered with beautiful modern decor. The food was incredible and offered a wide range of options to cater to our preferences. Our coordinator Tyler was a huge help especially in the middle of a pandemic but always kept a cool and professional presence. Highly recommend them for any event!

It was great working with Jesus as a DJ, he kept the party going and people in the dance floor during 6 hours.

I had both my ceremony and reception at the Washington Marriott and everything was seamless!! We had a small ballroom for the ceremony and the large ballroom for the reception. My guests loved that they could just come down from their room to get to the ceremony and then move on to the cocktail hour and then the reception without any travel or waiting. I loved how helpful and accommodating all the staff was. I didn't have to worry about a thing on my wedding day! The packages included beverages, food, and a credit with a local baker for a cake that was delicious!!

The Washington Marriott was an absolutely amazing wedding reception venue! The ballroom upstairs is so elegant. In addition, service is the best! As a result of a ballroom booking hours before our 180 person wedding, the Marriott staff had to work overtime to get the ballroom set up in time for the wedding, and they did just that! This venue offered more than we could have dreamed of, from the delicious food and exceptional service. And at a reasonable price for the extravagant decor, service and food! A special thanks to Mulu and Teresa for making the day so memorable for us. I would highly recommend the Washington Marriott for a wedding reception!

We had our cocktail hour, reception and block of rooms at the Washington Marriott and it was fabulous! The staff there made all our requests a reality and their attention to detail was unbelievable. Marcela was our event planner and she was so on the ball and responsive through the whole process that I never even had a chance to get stressed out. She worked with all our vendors directly and we basically just showed up on the day of our wedding and had a great party. All our guests raved about the hotel and the customer service they received the entire weekend. I highly recommend this hotel for your event and it was the best decision we made! So stress-free and professional and we were able to actually enjoy our day instead of working with 10 different vendors or stressing out the wedding party because they had to work with the different vendors all day. We all relaxed and let Marcela take over.

We had our Cocktail Hour and Reception at the Washington Marriott Hotel in downtown DC and this was the most amazing and rewarding experience. Sue Sayyad was our coordinator and truly she was even more. Every single detail was accounted for and its execution was safe in her hands. She was so outstanding, just to give you an idea: the day of our wedding I realized that we forgot to buy a guest book for the guests to sign. I called Sue a couple of hours before the wedding and she had a book and pen ready to go when the guests arrived. She was also super regarding our budget. She and her staff and the chef worked with us throughout the process and treated us like we were spending 10 times our actual amount. But, you'd never have known how "budget" our reception was, because Sue went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect. She even sent my mom champagne and fruit to welcome her to DC. You'd be crazy not to have your wedding here!

PS - The hotel has a contract with Creative Cakes and if you have your reception at the hotel your cake is included!!

What almost turned into a disaster was quickly fixed by the wonderful Mulu!

about a week before the wedding they called to let my wife know that there was an event the morning of our wedding. This threw a huge wrench in our plans as we were planning on setting the place up in the morning for our evening reception. There were only 3 hours for them to flip the room for our reception and this news was very unnerving for my wife, her parents and me. We met with our wedding coordinator and Mulu after finding the news out and he put our minds at rest saying he personally promised that it would be done to perfection. Then he sent my wife to the spa for the day to help her relax and focus on something else. Which was a beautiful touch. The venue looked amazing, Mulu lived up to his promise and we were very happy.

Food was amazing, rooms were perfect and modestly priced and included free parking.

About 6 months later before I left on a deployment I called Mulu and thanked him again, and asked if there were any rooms available if he could reserve a room for us because we wanted to do a night out before I left for overseas. He reserved the room as a gift. That guy is awesome.

Reserve with confidence.

We had our wedding reception here, and although the venue was nice enough, I would not recommend it for future brides. First of all, our wedding coordinator was awful. Three days before our wedding, he emailed us our "event order," which listed the start time of our cocktail hour as one hour before it had been scheduled to start, along with a slew of other errors. Our entree selections, which had been set several months in advance, were also listed incorrectly. After a number of frantic phone calls, we managed to get the details correct.

On the day of the wedding, we had been told that we would have a small room set aside for the bride, groom, and wedding party to come to after pictures while the guests were having cocktail hour. The purpose of this was to allow us time to refresh and have something to eat before being introduced. When we returned from the ceremony, not only was this room not ready, but nobody at the front desk even know what we were talking about when we asked about it! We stood waiting for 20 minutes in the lobby, exhausted and starving, while the staff scrambled to get things ready for us.

During the reception itself, the staff did not seem very attentive to our needs. I had to ask several times for someone to dim the lights during dancing. Throughout the receptions, staff members repeatedly swarmed me with questions that should have been handled and resolved prior to the ceremony, leaving me to scramble to help organize my wedding while also trying to enjoy myself.

As I said, the venue itself is lovely, and the food was delicious. However, the service was awful and not at all what I would suggest to someone for their wedding day. I think I would have enjoyed my reception a lot more had we held it somewhere else.

The day before our event, the hotel did not give us the suite we were supposed to get(breach of contract), made us wait for 30 minutes at 1 am for a room. We had four other rooms booked for our family , which were received 2-3 hours late because they weren't done cleaning them. This caused us to get so late we couldn't get group shots. We were supposed to get champagne and strawberries on 2 nights of our stay and only received it on one(breach of contract). The front desk guy actually told my family that a room is not ready because a guest is going to check out late, but then Ayman called us to apologize for his staff not cleaning the room which had been checked out in the morning.(miscommunication and lying?). They offered no apology for the time they made us wait last night for the rooms for us and our family. It was so hard to contact Ayman (our event co-ordinator) and I wonder why people don't communicate with each other because when we had questions, and he was unavailable, no one could provide us an answer( not even to general questions). This place is so poorly run, the only advantage is their location. They gave us a good deal, however I would have happily paid some one else much more money just so that I would not have had to deal with their nonsense the day of my wedding and reception. It is now almost four weeks, and they are yet to give me my points. For all time they cost us,and stress they caused us, we were comped us one room( $99) and gave us a tv to show a slideshow on without charging us($150).This was also done in such a non apologetic manner, with no regard for my time on my wedding day, and was certainly not enough. They lack the professionalism that I have always received from a Hilton, and I will never make the mistake of doing any important event at a Marriott again. I would never recommend them to anyone, please avoid making this mistake.
