Overall, our Engagement brunch went well. All of the food was delicious and everyone still talks about the cake! Also, Pure and Teal were very helpful during the process of setting up.
Unfortunately, there were a few mishaps that left a bad impression. When we first arrived I gave Pure a cake topper to help customize our sheet cake. Unfortunately, the cake topper was lost before it could be used. Particularly disappointing after we attempted to bring in a custom cake and learned there would be a $5 per person cutting fee. A high fee considering we were already being charged for the sheet cake we would not need if an outside cake was brought in.
Pure and Teal did their best to locate the missing topper, but it was never found. This search caused a delay and our event was pushed back - ultimately our guests were rudely rushed out. It was upsetting to end a great afternoon on a sour note. Due to being rushed, full glasses of champagne were removed from the table before a toast was made. I was able to catch this mid clean up and asked Pure to replace them in time for our toasts.
In being rushed out, Teal brought out the boxes and bags for our centerpieces, etc. but forgot my fiance's suit bag. I called immediately after leaving to see if it had been left behind. The woman I spoke to on the phone said she checked the event room and coat closet, but nothing had been found. About an hour later I received a phone call that the garment bag had been found in the coat closet. I was told that the woman I had spoken to earlier was not there when my event began so she was unaware of where the garment bag was placed. When I asked if it could be mailed because I live 45 minutes away, I was told it could not be mailed because the restaurant does not mail items that large.
As separate incidents, these things may seem minor. But a lack of responsibility and unresponsiveness to a follow up email make me apprehensive to host another event at Vetro or recommend to friends and family.
