It's been less than 3 weeks since our wedding at the Skinner Barn. It was incredible! The barn and property is absolutely stunning and was exactly what we were looking for in a venue. We are local to VT and were searching for a beautiful barn to house our outdoor ceremony, and cocktail hour and indoor festivities/reception. This had it all and we had incredible support from the whole team that we worked with,

The owner's efforts, attention to detail and communication were respectful, joyful, and prompt. We worked with Peter from our tour through the wedding, as he answered questions and provided expertise as we looked to him for how things have worked in the past at the barn. His interest in celebrating love and hosting weddings is so genuine. The Barn's work with the vendors they contract was superb - they have chosen the cream of the crop and that made our experience all the more delightful and smooth as they had established relationships many weddings ago.

We had our wedding at the Skinner Barn at the end of September, and I really could not have asked for a better venue. The barn & grounds are gorgeous (very quintessential Vermont), and Peter is really great to work with. He's put together a wonderful team that will make your day run smoothly and beautifully. It was exactly what we were looking for and we'd highly recommend it!

The Skinner Barn was a stunning place to get married! The owner, Peter was incredibly helpful (recommending local vendors, allowing us to stop by multiple times to show the barn off to our parents). He even kept the barn open for an extra weekend this fall when we had to change out wedding date! He was also there the day of to make sure everything was running smoothly. Two thumbs up!

Peter is great to work with and clearly takes great pride in his barn and the grounds! The venue was just perfect for us: rustic and surrounded by farmland and dirt roads, gorgeous mountain views, extremely professional vendors that turned the barn into a magical reception space. There is a terrific lawn and meadow for cocktail hour/ceremony, and the barn itself looks amazing lit up at night.
Catering By Dale is the required catering vendor, but it's because her and her team are best in class, working with all tastes and budgets.
Louder bands are harder to accommodate here and large buses won't fit in the driveway, but Peter will definitely work with you to ensure you have an amazing wedding day and that your guests have a blast.

I had read some less than favorable reviews about The Skinner Barn, particularly its owner Peter, and was really hesitant to choose this as my wedding venue. I learned that you can't believe everything you read. Peter was such a big help on our wedding day. He was there to offer advice on decor and ceremony organization and even lent my dad a shirt when he absentmindedly forgot to pack one. He also helped one of my recently-injured relatives get up and down the walkway outside by loading him in the back of his car. A serious lifesaver.
I was also originally put off by the site fee and the exclusive vendors for catering and rentals. It was a bit pricey but I feel as though it was well worth it. The service provided all-around was spectacular. I couldn't have picked a more beautiful venue for my wedding and I'm so glad that we made the choice to go with The Skinner Barn.

The space is beautiful. very well maintained in a great location. The Owner has a specific caterer you have to work with, who is generally pretty expensive. The Barn also has to be completely empty by the end of the event, so if you bring in anything that is in addition to the rentals, make sure you have a clean out plan (for decorations, etc). We provided our own fruit pies that needed to be frozen before the day of and allowed us to use a freezer on site for storage which was very helpful.
We're all about trust. Our community relies on honest reviews to help you make those big decisions with ease.
