The Promise Gardens of the Adirondacks is a wedding venue located in Thurman, New York. Imagine an enchanting farmhouse with rustic barns, surrounded by lush gardens, a babbling brook, and serene meadows. With the breathtaking backdrop of Three Sisters Mountain, our historic homestead, located in Thurman, NY, is the perfect location for your most cherished occasion. Facilities and Capacity
Up to 150 guests are welcome to join couples at The Promise Gardens. Ceremonies take place on the lush green lawn with The Three Sisters Mountains as the backdrop. Receptions are held in our brand new dinner reception barn, The White Willow Barn. The barn ensure guests' feet stay dry in the event of rainy weather. Our cluster of barns including a bridal suite, grooms area, and large main barn all set the stage for a gorgeous indoor and outdoor wedding. The barns have large windows and doors all around them to ensure the space doesn’t feel closed off. This also gives guests, no matter where they are a view of the expansive property.
Services Offered
The property at The Promise Gardens has its own parking for up to 30 cars for guests and the wedding party. The venue provides couples with a historical barn for dancing, and a beautiful dinner barn connected to the main barn by a stunning walkway that has a clear top with twinkle lights and a beautiful chandelier. This space is perfect with its bistro lighting and table and chairs for guests to take in the night and the beauty that surrounds them We have over 7 stunning gardens full of every season's flowers that set the stage of beauty throughout our property and wrap around the barns. We are located in the heart of The Adirondacks, and so close to Lake George, The Promise Gardens is an ideal location for wedding weekends on the lake. We have lots of comfortable and well-appointed lodging options nearby, wonderful restaurants and nightlife options, and so many fun activities for your and your guests to enjoy. (Think hiking, boating, spas, museums, winery tours, and more!)
History
The property’s history can be traced back to 1820 when Guy Brooks built a tavern on the land. The main house was built in 1855, and the barns have been carefully maintained since 1965. In the 1980s, they were moved to their current location to protect them from flooding.

The Most Beautiful Wedding Venue
The Promise Gardens was the most beautiful venue we ever could have imagined for our wedding. The beauty of the property truly exceeded every expectation we ever could have had. Terri truly has a talent for gardening and clearly had a wonderful vision for her property that she has brought to life for all her guests to enjoy. Terri and her team made us feel like family and were always quick to respond with a text or call for any of our questions.
So many of our guests said it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to, not to mention the location in the Adirondacks makes for a very unique wedding experience for our guests. The property feels so private and yet you're only 10 minutes away from Lake George and 40 from Saratoga (where our guests stayed).
The Promise Gardens recommended vendors list was so helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed working with each vendor we chose.
I would recommend the Promise Gardens over and over again. 10/10 was the perfect wedding. Thank you Terri and the Team! :)

Burlap and Beams is a beautiful location and Terri goes above and beyond to assist her couples in having a dream event. I cant say enough positive things about Burlap & Beams for your wedding venue. This is a hidden treasure in the heart of the Adirondacks with all the glamorous, rustic enhancements you could imagine. Every season the owner continues to fill the property with creative touches that make this barn one of the best in the capital region. As a wedding planner I know what to expect when I arrive on site with no surprises to how the day will go, which is perfectly. You will not be disappointed with the quality of value of this unique wedding venue!
I have worked with Terri at Burlap and Beams many times. Every time that I visit I am amazed at the new decor and improvements she continues to make to the barns and property. She is always hustling around the day of the wedding making sure the barns and gardens are in tip top shape. She puts her heart into Butlap and Beams. I would recommend Terri and Burlap and Beams to any bride for their wedding!
