The Lyric Theater Blue Island is a Blue Island, Illinois, wedding venue for couples in hopes of a Hollywood happily ever after. In 1917, this Land of Lincoln auditorium became Cook County's one-stop shop for films and entertainment. Although business became silent in the wake of the 21st century, it was with the help of two Blue Island investors that The Lyric's star power was restored. Today, it stands as a top-notch location for soon-to-be newlyweds nationwide.
Facilities and Capacity
The Lyric Theater Blue Island is a 12,000-square-foot entertainment hall with plenty of room for parties of any size. And with various function areas to choose from, the venue has endless opportunities for you and your partner. The main auditorium, luscious and low-lit, is ideal for ceremonies and comes with a sleek, black, slightly-raised stage that sets the scene for your "I dos." Once it's time for the cocktail party, your loved ones can retreat to the theater's lounge areas, furnished with comfortable leather couches that come in vibrant colors and vintage patchwork. The Lyric also boasts a full bar with custom cocktails and craft beers that please all palates. As soon as the day turns to dusk, the main auditorium magically transforms into a beautiful ballroom for your dinner party or reception. Furniture in front of the stage can be transferred at the end of the night, revealing a solid wood dance floor where you and your guests can jig and jive to your hearts' content.

Perfect experience
We had our wedding at the Lyric Theater and could not be happier with the entire experience. From start to finish, the staff was attentive, professional, and truly invested in making our day perfect. The space itself is absolutely beautiful, elegant yet warm, and created the perfect backdrop for our celebration.
Everything ran smoothly thanks to their coordination, and our guests couldn’t stop complimenting both the venue and the overall atmosphere. The team was flexible, detail-oriented, and always quick to answer questions, which made the planning process so much less stressful. Special thanks to Scott, he is great to work with.

There was no second option - THIS IS THE PLACE!
We married at the Lyric on Halloween this year. We could not have chosen a better location or space. If there was a way to give The Lyric Theater + Scott (the legend!!) 10 stars, I would. Scott went above and beyond all expectations! Every single one of them. And for what you get, the packages are very reasonably priced (even with top shelf!). Private bridal and groom suites, accommodating features, slots, concessions for a midnight snack, access to the marquee, amazing bartenders, organized and extremely clean. GET MARRIED HERE!!!

Best Decision of our Wedding Planning!
The Lyric was a fantastic choice for our wedding! We wanted to do something a little different than a traditional sit down dinner reception and the Lyric delivered. Scott was awesome to work with and went with all of my crazy ideas and accommodated them and was excited to see what we could do together! The staff was excellent the night of the wedding and was very attentive and the service was great! They even tended to our immediate families and made sure they had everything they needed. I would recommend the Lyric 100x over! We couldn't have asked for a better wedding!

My fabulous fall wedding
The Lyric Theater was the best decision I made for our wedding! The place looked spectacular and inviting from the moment I walked in to see the venue I was impressed. I had to have my wedding there. The event coordinator Scott walked me through everything and was very attentive to my needs throughout the process. My guests loved the food and the atmosphere of my reception. I had the perfect day. I owe it all to Scott and his professionalism. He added details to my decor that I didn't even think of. He took my vision to the next level.

Nights over Egypt wedding review
I can honestly say that Scott is now one of the family! He walked with me, talked with me a helped me as a bride beyond measure during our planning process. He was gracious and kind, thoughtful and understanding! He had such a profound understanding of what it takes to make a wedding day special and we thank him and the staff greatly!

Amazing wedding
Our experience at The Lyric Theater was absolutely amazing. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel completely taken care of — every detail was handled with care and professionalism. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how different and perfect everything was. Scott, a meticulous planner, meticulously planned the entire 14-month process. Would highly recommend this for any party or event.

Best Wedding EVER
The Lyric Theater was the best place to host our wedding! We have been married for a month now and are still receiving compliments on the venue and how fun the wedding was. It is a unique venue with an outstanding staff. Scott, Mandy, and the rest of their team were so supportive on the wedding day and all the planning leading up to it. We are from out of town (southern Indiana) and Scott was very flexible in his schedule to meet with us and go over wedding schedule, details, etc. I highly recommend the Lyric Theater and can guarantee you would not regret this team and their venue!

Best Wedding Experience
While looking for a wedding venue, my husband and I knew that we wanted a unique space. We were recommended The Lyric Theater by a coworker and immediately fell in love. Working with Scott was the best experience we could have asked for. He was very helpful in helping us plan our wedding down to the tiniest of details and made sure the space met our expectations on the Big Day itself. The staff was very courteous, respectful, and responsive while the bartenders made sure everyone was happy. The biggest compliment that we received from our day was that the venue was amazing, everyone loved it. It was intimate while allowing everyone to have their space. The Lyric Theater holds a great history within Blue Island and the restoration of it into an event/theater space is nothing but remarkable. You won't be disappointed in choosing The Lyric for your event, I promise you that!

New Years Eve Wedding
If you are looking for a full service venue that will be unique & beautiful, look no further. The Lyric is SUCH a cool space!!! Scott was the easiest person to work with and was open to any ideas that I had. He also has so much experience running weddings that he was a great resource as well and basically a built in day of coordinator. The suites are perfect for the bridal party to hang out in and keep their stuff in during the day. The bartenders were awesome and there was basically never a line for a drink even with 200 people. They really made the day so stress free. The planning process was extremely easy and enjoyable. We got so many compliments from our guests as well. Cannot recommend this venue and this staff enough. A 5 star rating isn't even enough.

Would Highly Recommend
Our wedding day was absolutely perfect! The staff went above and beyond and made the day absolutely amazing. Scott was the event coordinator for the day and was extremely easy to talk to. I would like to think that I not only am now apart of my husbands family, but also apart of the Lyric Theater family. The venue is so unique but accessible. I did have some family that have issues with walking and they did not have any issues at all when navigating the event. I cannot thank the staff and personally at the theater. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for such a perfect day. If it matters, they are also LGTBQIA+ friendly. I included some photos from the day as well.
