Since 1999, Leonard Rodriquez, Jr., (aka DJ Slyce) has owned and operated Sound Experience Wedding & Event Entertainment. He has provided the soundtrack for countless celebrations around the Austin and San Antonio corridor including the Texas Hill Country. Based out of San Marcos, Sound Experience has a strong reputation for preparing and performing a unique music mix for any engagement.

The company resume includes events ranging from elegant wedding receptions and anniversary dinners to festive corporate parties and school events. DJ Slyce also provides emcee duties for the engagement and mixes the right tunes to keep the dance floor packed and help make your event memorable!

Let us know if your celebration requires a specific music blend, or if you just want the biggest and best Dance Floor Hits. Either way, Sound Experience Wedding & Event Entertainment has your music needs covered. As a seasoned professional, DJ Slyce can work with or without a Customized Playlist provided by a client. You can even let him know what not to play.

The following are items and services are included with all Sound Experience disc jockey packages.

  • ​One-on-one service to assist with planning of reception events

  • ​On-site technician available for ceremony, cocktail, dinner and reception dance
  • ​One wireless hand-held microphone for dinner blessing, welcome or toast
  • ​Back up Macbook Pro, music external hard drive and DJ controller on-site

Libby & Justin's Wedding - April 26, 2025 - Montesino Ranch in Wimberley

Absolutely THE BEST experience!!! I would recommend Sound Experience time and time again. As the mother-of-the-Bride who planned a wedding in Wimberley, from College Station, for my recent TXST college graduate, Leanord was a lifesaver. He listened to our wants and needs, asked the important questions to ensure that he gave us the exact vibe we wanted. He made it easy and calm during the planning process and had everyone on the dance floor - old and young at the reception. We had several people tell us that he was one of the best DJ's they had ever heard.

Leanord didn't make it about himself (like some DJ's tend to do) or make it cheesy, he quietly did exactly what we asked, kept our timeline going, and communicated to the crowd every step of the way, so they knew where to be and what was coming next. He let us choose our own chill, timeless background music for the cocktail hour and dinner service and then he let loose. Everyone was on the dance floor enjoying themselves. He made this wedding SOOOOO MUCH FUN! Hire him, trust me!

Professional transitions

We wanted a bunch of random songs for our wedding and our DJ was able to accommodate whilst keeping the beat going! Also Leonard had been doing weddings for a very long time and is very professional and knowledgeable in his craft in so many ways. We couldn't have asked for a better DJ.

Lots of Fun, Great Songs, and Definitely Knows the Audience

This is the 2nd time we hire Leonard and Sound Experience Wedding and Event Entertainment. What is most impressive to us has been his ability to recognize what his particular audience enjoys. Every event is different, and different folks like different music. Finding the right balance and selection that gets the most people out on the dance floor and enjoying themselves truly sets Leonard and his team apart. Plus he understands he's there to play music and NOT talk. I for one, have no interest in a DJ talking all the time or singing along. Highly recommend.

Excellent DJ!

Sound Experience was exemplary in every way! Whether it was helping us manage our timeline, work out the exact wording of introductions and transitions, playing incredible tracks to get everyone on the dance floor or simply being available to meet at a time that worked for our schedules, Leonard's input and expertise was second to none! His professionalism, excellent communication skills, all the behind-the-scenes work and his kind attentiveness to our wants and needs made working together such a smooth process. We can't say enough just how pleased we were with his services. Sound Experience was the best choice for our special night!

Amazing to work with!

Leonard was absolutely amazing to work with. Not only did he check in regularly but when we had to postpone due to Covid he just took it in stride and made it one less thing for me to worry about. He was extremely organized and a pleasure to talk to on our zooms before hand. The day of the wedding Leonard made sure he was there with more than enough time to set up, had mics for the officiant and took all safety measure due to Covid. The music during the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and reception was phenomenal. In fact, people had left and cleaning had started and he still played music for us so we could keep dancing. It made the perfect end to the evening. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone that needs a DJ.
