When planning our wedding, we had originally been assigned a day-of coordinator by our venue. Unfortunately, this individual fell short of our expectations, lacking attentiveness and citing exhaustion from a previous event as the reason for their subpar performance. This is where AnneMarie came into the picture, transforming potential chaos into a flawlessly executed celebration.

Our wedding party was sizeable, consisting of 14 members, each with their own needs and schedules. More personally, she was there for me in a way I hadn't anticipated, helping to bustle my dress and providing much-needed reassurance just before I walked down the aisle.

SoMa Events was with me the whole way through. Very quick at responding, and helped me through every phase of planning. Believe me when I say, even if your venue has a “day of coordinator”, you still need to get SoMa events. SoMa was so involved, and handled EVERYTHING from the day before through the day of so we could enjoy our wedding. Sara and Anne Marie kept everyone organized and made sure everything ran smoothly. Through the whole wedding process and all the vendors we hired, SoMa events was the most essential!! If you’re not sure if you need day-of-coordination… you absolutely do so that you can enjoy your day! Everything goes so quickly and you don’t want to be pulled away to handle difficult situations when you should be enjoying your spouse/family/friends, and it’s amazing to have a team like SoMa to be your body guards/chaos coordinators/supporters/decorators… all the things!

I typically shy away from writing reviews unless I actually believe in something or care about something. I’m like Ron Swanson, you could say (if you’ve ever seen Parks and Rec). Y’all, that something is SoMa Events. Sara and AnneMarie are beyond organized; they listened to me and helped turn my disorganized ideas into a beautiful, well-thought-out romantic fantasy of a wedding. When I tell you we got compliments all night, I really was handing out referrals for SoMa Events like they were candy at our candy bar. 🍭 I was a very happy camper and so was the rest of my family. For everyone in the family to get what they want in a wedding, be able to have coordinated seamlessly with the venue and vendors, and get us a lot of discounts is truly an impossible thing and AnneMarie and Sara actually made that happen. I always thought planning a wedding was supposed to be stressful — isn’t that what everyone says? But y’all, do yourselves a favor and go with SoMa. I was actually shocked that it was stress-free for me, only having to make “this” or “that” decisions, tasting food, giving my honest opinions. It was because I felt listened to and heard, not rushed, given great and seasoned advice. It was the difference between a stressful, not fun wedding and the wedding of my dreams. Given the option, I’d do it all over again with SoMa Events.

Best event planners!!! Professional, efficient, organized. These ladies made our wedding a success!!! Continuously communicating with us, accommodating our every wish. They have great ideas, customer service throughout the planning process leading to the wedding and the day off. The wedding was flawless. They managed all the other vendors and kept everything on schedule. Great price too!!!

AnneMarie and Sara are the very best! Because of them, my daughter and I were STRESS-FREE and able to enjoy everyone and everything the day of the wedding! Prior to the wedding, they not only took care of EVERY detail, they also helped to keep us calm and at times talked us off the "ledge!" They took care of planning, accommodations, vendors, transportation, decorations...whatever we needed. The night of the rehearsal, Sara was quick to inform everyone that IF anything went wrong, the bride and groom and the parents were to know NOTHING about it, that they should be notified and that they would take care of it, because that was their job and they were good at it. WOW!!!!! Nothing did go wrong, and EVERYTHING was absolutely perfect! I would recommend them over and over again. They cannot be beat!
