About
A published short story writer and a widely exhibited and award-winning fine art photographer, Bill Smoot sees wedding photography as a culmination of the those two loves. "Wedding photography tells a story," he says, "and the very best wedding photography tells it with the beauty, the feeling, and the soulfulness of art." He treats each wedding as a special photography project, and for that reason he limits himself to fifteen weddings a year and never more than one a week. That enables him to give each couple special attention (he even attends the rehearsal) and to stay fresh. Becuse of his commitment to quality, he shoots entirely on film. Wedding photography for him is a labor of love. His wedding day shooting style is non-intrusive. "We kept forgetting you were there," one of his clients told him. But his work shows that his photographer's eye is intimate and that he has a good instinct to key moments and telling details. After researching photography products from all over the world, he settled on two. For the couple who likes the contemporary coffee table books, he offers the Italian designed and printed wedding book from Graphistudio. To couples who preferring traditional albums, he offers the custom bound album from Leather Craftsman in America.
