Jim was great to be around on the wedding day, and we got so many great posed and candid photos of our wedding. He also helped us prep, is super flexible on the day, and turned them around really quickly. I've seen him go above and beyond a few times now (for us, and for other family weddings)!

For one, I never have written a review, but please bear with me through this review because I have A LOT to say about working with Jim, and hopefully it provides some insight to your photographer search; whether it be weddings, senior shoots, dance shoots, etc.

Jim worked with me and my husband on our wedding day (and me individually for a bridal shoot).

The first day we met Jim at his studio just to talk, we were blown away. He was incredibly opening, kind, and made you feel comfortable as if you were sitting down with your favorite uncle for a cup of coffee. He showed us his beautiful studio and the many UNIQUE shots he has. At my bridal shoot, he welcomed my mother and me and took photos for hours! He is so invested in you as a client and a person and does everything to make you feel yourself so the rawest and most personable photos are captured.

On our wedding day, Jim was with us from 11 am to nearly 11 pm and had full energy all day! Despite any/all nerves that somebody may have had that day, he was comforting and helped bring you back to reality and enjoy the moments. Jim pays INCREDIBLE attention to detail and will do everything in his power to create an image he can imagine, but he also catches EVERY emotional moment. Looking through our wedding pictures we can re-feel how we were in the moments of our day, and relate to how others were feeling as well.

Please, please consider Jim as your photographer with any event, celebration, or milestone because he will capture everything you imagine and more, and will make sure you are having the most incredible experience as well! Jim is so passionate about his work and being with clients, and you 100% will not be disappointed in the process or the product.

Wedding planning can be such a daunting task that can test your patience and provide you with challenges, however when it came to our wedding pictures I knew I didn’t have to worry. Jim was incredible from start to finish. With an extremely short notice Jim agreed to jump on a plane to PA and shoot our wedding. As a bride nervous because we were days out from the wedding, he immediately put my mind at ease, asked me questions so he knew exactly what we were looking for, and had a plan set and ready. He was great at keeping us on time, making everyone feel comfortable and laughing. Most of the time we never even noticed he was even there. When we got our pictures from Jim my husband and I kept repeating “How did he even get that shot? Did you even see him around in that moment?”. Another comment we kept repeating while reviewing our photos was, “This is my favorite picture, no wait this one is”. Jim was so professional, easy to work with, and absolutely the best decision we made. His talent in capturing those perfect moments are just incredible. If you’re looking for quality pictures and fantastic service Jim will not disappoint you, he is a true professional.

Working with Jim from Shooting Star Photography was a pleasure from beginning to end! He met with us weeks before the wedding so that he was well prepared for the day of and knew exactly what we did and didn't want. On the day of our wedding, he captured every moment, from getting ready, to the last dance. On top of it all, the photos are absolutely stunning. Jim knew exactly when to pull us aside and capture the most unbelievable sunset photos. I can't rave about him enough. If you're looking for extremely high quality professional photography, and a super kind photographer, go with Jim.

We had and awesome experience working with Jim from Shooting Star Photography. He had so many ideas and new techniques that he wanted to try and so far what what we have seen the pictures are amazing. One thing that really surprised us is how Jim stuck around for the entire wedding taking pictures and capturing so many memories. We are really looking forward to seeing the final results. Another thing that we like about Jim is that he gives us the rights to every photo so that we are able to get any prints we want later on. We look forward to working with Jim later on for other special events.

Jim (of Shooting Star Photography) was an absolute pleasure to work with. I don't think you will find another photographer who is so personable, professional, and reasonably priced. Jim went above and beyond in terms of being accomodating. He let us reschedule our FREE engagement photo shoot 3 times because of weather. He took absolutely beautiful shots of the wedding. I couldn't be happier with his work. And my proofs were ready so quickly!!

It seems almost silly to add yet another 5 star review to all the other consistently amazing ratings on here. Nevertheless, Jim played such an integral role to the most amazing day of our lives, so his praises cannot be sung enough.

I wouldn't give a 5 start review if he only produced pictures that met/exceeded our expectations (which he did in spades). What sets Jim apart is a brand of professionalism that is still very much complemented by his proactive and congenial personality. I've had experiences in the past with photographers who try to dictate directions in a way that can be too imposing, but Jim is a different breed. He manages to take charge of situations as needed while always remaining pleasant and amicable with everybody (and then subsequently blending back into the background afterwards!). When many of your guests go so far as to make complimentary remarks of the photographer, even by name, you begin to appreciate just how much of an asset he was.

In short, with Jim you don't just get a man-behind-the-camera that takes good pictures. You get a true professional who has an avid sense of detail, not only for taking pictures but also for managing (sometimes seemingly untenable) situations. When you get that from a person who is also a true pleasure to work with, you know there is nothing more you can ask for. Hence this review/endorsement/recommendation of the highest caliber. 5/5 for all categories. Thank you, Jim, for doing such an amazing job.

Jim was amazing to work with! We bought the wedding package from him, which includes our photo album and an engagement shoot. He made us feel comfortable from the second we met him and he kept everything light and fun so we just had a great time with our pictures. Our photos from our engagement shoot came out amazing and we can't wait to see our wedding photos and design our album. Jim was very friendly, funny, organized, and professional. He always responded to us very quickly and answered all of our questions. He went above and beyond when I asked him to do a couple extra things for me as we went leading up to the wedding. He is truly an awesome photographer and an even more awesome person to work with. I would recommend his photography to anyone!

James really impressed us with how eager he was to help up with all aspects of our reception. Not only did he provide superior service as a photographer, but he also assisted in finding a block of rooms for guests and gave us ideas based on what he'd seen be successful in past experiences.

He was such a pleasure to work with and I do plan on hiring him for any other future occasions that would require a photographer.

Choosing Jim to be our photpgrapher was the best decisions we made when planning our wedding. Jim was very professional and responsive to our emails and questions. He gave wonderful advice when we had questions and were looking for help with the planning process. He also made both my husband and myself extremely relaxed and comfortable on our wedding day. He knew exactly what to say to our family members to get the perfect smile. We love our pictures and are having the hardest time designing our album because there are too many great pictures to choose from!!!! We would recommend Jim without question!
