Brittany is AMAZING!! She did both our engagement photos and our wedding photos. It was clear from the moment we met her that she was the best fit for us as a couple. She captures all of the special moments, all the laughs, all the tears. Her photos are filled with so much emotion. Brittany gives just enough posing advice to make you feel at ease while also allowing you to just be yourself. She is the best hype person and will be the photographer we choose for everything going forward.

I cannot more highly recommend Brittany and her team! I first worked with her when my friends and I hired her to for a surprise photo shoot for a friend's bachelorette. We had the best time walking around Three Oaks, MI, taking photos in front of cute buildings and murals, in a public community garden, on the steps of our rental house with a giant Batman balloon, and more. Brittany had tunes playing the whole time to keep an upbeat tone, and the photos were ones that captured the joy and meaning of lifelong friendships.

My experience with her was so positive that when it was then time to find a photographer for my own wedding, she was my top choice. I was delighted to find out that even though she's based in Western, MI, she also does weddings in Chicagoland. We shared with her that our top priorities were taking pictures with our families, taking pictures as a couple in a way where we could just kind of walk around and interact with the environment and see what inspires us, and capturing the ceremony and reception. Brittany and her second photographer Liv more than delivered on our requests.

Our photo shoot with our families was incredibly fun! We walked to a nearby park, got our pre-planned pictures, and then were able to get some really precious candid pictures of my nephew, brother, and his wife going down the playground slide. We also got some incredibly cute pictures of my baby niece, sister, and brother-in-law. I'm not including the family pics here since they're pics with kids, but just know that they are amazing! Brittany and Liv did such a good job making funny noises to get our niece and nephew to laugh, and as a result, put the rest of us at ease as well.

Taking pictures as a couple was also really fun! I am not someone who naturally feels comfortable getting my photo taken, but I just had the best time! They made it a laid-back, and creative experience, where we could all kind of have ideas and try them out. At one point I was like "I like this lamp post, can we get a picture with it?" and they were like "yes!" My husband was also having a lot of pre-wedding jitters, and Liv was somehow magically able to put him at ease. A thing I didn't really think about before the wedding is that taking couples pictures is some of the only "alone" time you get on your wedding day. Brittany and Liv made this time really special, bringing positive energy, affirmation, and creativity, while creating space for us to treasure our time together as a couple.

Finally, they did an incredible job capturing the ceremony and reception. I can't even really put into words what they managed to do. They captured the small details- the facial expressions, the moments where everyone's laughing because of an intentional joke or an unintentional but charming mess up. They captured us as a couple, but also the community we were lucky enough to gather around us. There's something intangible about the magic you create at a wedding, that they somehow bottled it up and got it into these photos, which we will treasure for the rest of our lives.

Brittany, the brains and talent behind Paint My Mind, is a phenomenal human being. I am an amateur photographer so I knew going into planning my wedding that I was going to be picky about my photographer. Not to mention the fact that I am gay, and needed my vendors to be queer affirming. Brittany showed up for us in SPADES. From the very first meeting we clicked, and she was flexible and understanding about my neurodivergence and need for breaks, as well as my vision and what I wanted out of my photographs. She had us laughing and giggling - and even got a smile out of my Teenage Sons! Which if you are a mom of teen boys - you know is nearly impossible for pictures.
Our wedding day was magical, due largely in part to Brittany and her second shooter. From the moment they showed up, they were present, but also never in the way (unless I needed her to be, which she showed when she offered to kick someone out for me lol)
When I look back at my pictures I cannot remember even SEEING her or her partner during the ceremony, and yet she got AMAZING shots.
When it came time for our exciting Sneak Peak, I was expecting a few photos, maybe 10-15 at most. She blew me out of the water and gave me SO MUCH MORE, and I have so many to show my family and friends while we wait for the full album. The quality is astounding, the shots that she got of us, our family and friends, and the venue itself just leave me speechless.

I cannot recommend Brittany more, and she is worth every single penny!

We have only received the sneak peek from our wedding and my WIFE and I are obsessed! Brittany was so friendly and easy to work with and definitely knew what to do to capture our vibe! She is absolutely amazing and I will be singing her praises for the rest of my life as I share the pictures of our wedding day (and engagement) countless times! Good energy, excellent pictures- worth every penny plus some!

Brittany was beyond amazing on our wedding day. She is fun with lots of energy and she listened to everything that I wanted. My husband and I are terrible with being photographed and Brittany just accepted our awkward and ran with it.

Brittany's professionalism and attention to detail was inspiring and much appreciated. She kept me sane and on track the entire day and even advocated for me when I was too anxious to do so myself.

Our photos are stunning and far exceeded my expectations. The gallery is simple to access and share. I was happy to see that it is also organized by

My (now husband!) and I are from Chicago and first met Brittany in 2021 at our best friend’s wedding in Michigan, and we loved her work so much, we knew right away we wanted to work with her whenever our big day happened! Fast forward two years, and Brittany + her assistant Alexa traveled to Chicago for us and captured every single special moment! She was so empathetic and knew when to give us moments in private, but also got creative and made us look stunning in not-so-glamourois Chicago alleyways. We hired Brittany for our wedding and she was phenomenal! Planning with her beforehand gave me so much peace of mind and her ability to make you feel comfortable getting your photo taken and given quick direction was excellent (even with my camera shy husband)! She is so kind and was able to chat with some of our friends and family, who have all been raving about how great her and her sister/helper were. We are already obsessed with our sneak peak photos and I know when we get our gallery it is going to be impossible to decide what pictures are going on the wall. We will absolutely be hiring Brittany for any future photos we want to get and can't wait to work with her again for some family/fur baby photos!

Brittany is amazing and we couldn’t recommend her enough. For our engagement shoot she helped us select a beautiful location for outside shots, and then was super flexible about a second location (at our favorite brewery). When we had to postpone our wedding due to the pandemic, she was very responsive and understanding. When we finally got to celebrate our wedding, she brought such a fun energy to our day and our photos. Weather threw a lot of curveballs at our plans, and she helped us navigate them all in a way that brought some peace to the day. Her expertise in taking family portraits also came out when getting our young nephews to smile for the camera. The turnaround for our sneak peek was so quick, and the photos turned out absolutely stunning. We love her, and our only regret is that we’ve now moved out of state and won’t be able to have Brittany do all the photos for our life events. 100/10.

Our experience with Paint My Mind Photography was amazing. We found Brittany through Instagram, and we were worried that her being on the other side of the state would be a struggle or an issue, but it wasn’t any sort of issue at all. We had Brittany for our Engagement Photos and she traveled all the way to Detroit so we could have a cool unique location for our pictures. She made us feel so comfortable right away. She was super friendly and welcoming. After our photos, we all sat down and had a drink together to get to know each other a little better! No other vendor would do that.
Leading up to our wedding, Brittany kept in touch with us. We consulted with her regarding our wedding day timeline to see what she thought would work best for day-of timing. We truly put all of our trust in her opinion for some details, and there were no issues! We’re glad we did.
The day of the wedding, she was amazing. She captured every important moment that we had. She arrived on time and started immediately. Some of the photos she captured we thought to ourselves, “we didn’t even know she was in the room taking these pictures!” The second photographer she brought with her (Alexa) was great also. They really made us feel so comfortable and tag-teamed the pictures.
When it came to family photos, we got everything done in a timely manner. She was quick with getting photos done with family and making sure we got every family combination we needed. She rode with us on our party bus and got awesome pictures of us on that. We honestly loved the entire experience from start to finish with Brittany. The experience was great, the photos were absolutely amazing, and the process working with her was so smooth. We will be recommending Brittany to everyone we know, and going back to her to capture any other important life experiences we have!
