Perfect Venue!

Colonial Dames was the perfect venue for our small wedding the first weekend in October. We had 81 guests, and were lucky to have nice weather so that the ceremony could take place outside. It was 65 and sunny on the day-of, and all of our guests raved about how beautiful the building was, how special it was, and how rare it is to find something so hidden in Center City. My aunt said that it really high lights all that Philadelphia has to offer, and we agree. A special shout out to Adriana for being so awesome and knowing exactly how to help us! She made this beautiful place shine!

Amazing Venue

My husband and I have so many great things to say about the Colonial Dames Society. We had never heard of the venue until we recommended it when searching for a wedding venue in Philly, not an easy feat. The instant we saw it we knew this was the perfect setting of which we wanted to get married. It is truly beautiful, in an amazing and central location, and was so unique. It checked all our boxes in that we wanted - our ceremony outside, reception inside, with the possibility of having both inside pending weather. It also made for the perfect capacity of the amount of guests we intended on having.

This venue is certainly a hidden gem in the middle of Philadelphia. We could never imagine getting married anywhere else. We had so many friends and family members compliment the venue, and how beautiful the wedding was. It truly feels like an oasis in the middle of the city. The location was absolutely perfect. It felt so special to get married here and the second we saw the venue - we jumped on it.

Adriana was fantastic to work with. She has a great personality and will help and assist you with what you need in terms of the venue. She truly holds down the fort, is easy going, and great to work with. She made things stress-free and is a great resource. Her husband is also wonderful and provided additional great resources for us. If you're looking to have your wedding in a beautiful and truly unique spot in the middle of Philly, then this is the place.

Best Venue in Philly

WOW. I can't believe how perfect my wedding at the Colonial Dames in Philly was. I owe much of the success of the event to the folks at Colonial Dames, particularly Adriana, and her amazing spirit and professionalism. She was fab to work with from the first time we met, all the way through the process and the day after our wedding when we picked up our remaining affects. She was always flexible, allowing us to make appointments to check out the venue, and gave her best recommendations of how to hold the wedding in the space. The Dames has a gorgeous, lush outdoor space, only to be matched by their indoor space including a beautiful aqua blue room on the 2nd Floor. I just got my photos back from the wedding and we can't believe how great all of the spaces photographed, including the rooms where we got ready. All of my guests agreed that this space is the best kept secret in Philadelphia. I never thought I could afford a wedding in such a gorgeous place in Rittenhouse Square, but it was possible and beyond my expectations at the Colonial Dames. Thank you Adriana!!!!

The Colonial Dames was a fantastic venue. I was looking for something small and unique in the city, and this fit every checkbox. Adrianna was great to work with. And Power Catering has worked at the venue many times before, making the pair absolutely perfect. We had a quick rehearsal the day before and Adrianna was there to make sure we had everything all set. Day of, she was great in making sure everything ran smoothly during set up and the event itself (and was very patient in all the questions family/moms had for her). I received so many compliments on the venue itself. It has so much character. We were able to do the ceremony outdoors, even though it had rained all morning. There is a smaller patch of turf, so we did the ceremony there so that no heels sunk into the grass! There's also the possibility of doing the ceremony indoors in the living room as well. With 80 people, there was ample room upstairs for 8 tables, the dj, and still a small dance floor area. There is a small room to the bride to get ready in, but it was a little too small for me, so I got ready at the Warwick just a block or two away. There's a small library on the first floor for the groom to get ready it. It's a great gem--small, but beautiful.

The Colonial Dames was the first place we found online and the first place we visited in person. Mere blocks from where my wife and I had our first date, we knew after about 5 minutes that this would be the perfect place for our wedding. Adriana was great to work with, the price of the venue was very affordable and all in all it was the perfect setting for our ~70 person wedding. We got so many comments from guests (including some Philly natives) who could not believe we had found such a beautiful place. Thank you again!

We cannot say enough good things about our experience having our wedding at Colonial Dames! We came across the site as we started searching the Philadelphia wedding scene for beautiful and historic venues. We both knew that we wanted a smaller wedding that felt intimate and uniquely ours. We weren’t looking for a big ballroom, a country club, or a traditional event/reception hall. Importantly, we also wanted the venue to reflect the beauty and history that we admire about Philadelphia. When we found Colonial Dames – it just felt right! We were pleasantly surprised to discover that this hidden gem is located in the heart of Rittenhouse, but with its lovely gardens and indoor/outdoor flow it has the power to make you feel just enough secluded from the big city. When we went to tour it our search stopped there – we loved it!

Adriana, the event coordinator at Colonial Dames, is equally as lovely as the venue itself. She was so easy to work with throughout the whole planning process and was very organized and prepared the night of the wedding. It is clear that Adriana has been doing this for a long time and loves her job. Everything ran so smoothly because of the staff at Colonial Dames. We could not be happier with our wedding and we would highly recommend this location to anyone!

We had our wedding at Colonial Dames this past August. It was such a wonderfully beautiful place to have it. We couldn't have been happier. Our wedding guests all remarked on what a gorgeous, unique place it was!

Ceremony: We had our ceremony in the outside garden. We had the ceremony up on the platform and our guests sat on the lawn. It was a gorgeous space. Adriana let us know that the air conditioner unit behind can be really loud so we worked with our DJ and had a microphone. All the guests could hear the ceremony fine and we lucked out with beautiful weather. They do have a great rain plan too as well - just in case.

Cocktail hour: our main bar was in the sunroom area and everyone could mingle outside and downstairs. This worked out perfectly - again b/c the weather was so nice.

Reception: We had about 100 guests even and split our reception between the upstairs and downstairs. We had a stationed dinner so the guests flowed between upstairs and downstairs all night. Our Photo Booth was also downstairs in one of the small rooms - this worked out great and it was nice for the photobooth to have its own space.

Coordinator: Adriana was so easy to work with. She was always reachable and accommodated all of our requests. She let us bring all of our alcohol and props the day before during rehearsal which made things really easy. she was a joy to work. Some of our guests even lost some things at the wedding and Adriana made sure to contact us and placed it aside for us to pick up after we got back from our honeymoon.

Affordability: This placed worked out so well for us b/c we were able to pick our own caterer (Birchtree - who we also loved) and bring our own alcohol -- this really helped with our budget and we were even able to return the unopened liquor and wine to the wholesaler we brought it from after the wedding. If you are on a budget, this place is perfect without feeling you're skimping on anything.

Colonial Dames is a hidden gem in Philadelphia. We knew from the moment we walked in that we wanted to have our reception at Colonial Dames. We were lucky we had a beautiful day and could have cocktail hour outside although the first floor is beautiful. The upstairs ballroom is a great size for a hundred guests to dance and mingle after dinner. Our guests, many of whom were from the Philadelphia area, couldn't believe such a great space existed on a little side street off Rittenhouse. In addition, Adriana is a pleasure to work with and made everything so easy. She went out of her way to accommodate us and coordinate with our caterer.

We could not have been happier to have had my daughter's wedding at Colonial Dames. The setting is so warm and intimate. The gardens are lovely and perfect for an outdoor ceremony. The reception space flowed so well. The real plus is Adrianna Robinson, the coordinator....who was so gracious and helpful from the first moment we visited the venue to the day after the wedding when she came in to work so that we could pick up some items left there. Adrianna made sure everything worked seemingly effortlessly. She interfaced with the florist and caterer easily and competently. She assisted in so many ways to make this wonderful wedding day beyond my expectations. WHenever, I give a party, I tell myself to prepare for at least one thing to go wrong. Well, Nothing did!!!

I Love, love, love this place. It seems like a secret garden in the city. Toni Anne (master gardener) does the garden and it is just beautiful! Perfect location for photos. It's the best of all worlds for a city wedding.
