I was very lucky to find Shelbi after I received an initial alterations quote that was going to cost as much as it did to purchase my dress originally. From our first communication Shelbi was so incredibly kind and professional and worked to get me in as soon as possible. She was able to perfect my dress in only two fittings. Shelbi was so warm, funny, and very professional and I genuinely enjoyed the time we spent together. We are planning a one year vow renewal ceremony and I will definitely be reaching out to her to alter my dress completely and spice it up a bit. She also was able to alter my rehearsal dinner dress and they both fit wonderfully. I stand by everything I said in my original review -- Shelbi is the best!

ORIGINAL: I feel so lucky that I found Shelbi at Moonlight and Moss! Shelbi is very quick to answer emails and I found it incredibly easy to communicate to her exactly what I wanted for my wedding dress alterations. I had some special requests, like removing a layer and sewing in a piece of my mom’s veil. Not only was Shelbi able to accommodate these requests, but she even had some of her own ideas, like to sew my mom’s veil in the shape of a heart. I would have never thought of this, but it is such a special touch. Also, her prices are completely reasonable and her turnaround time was fantastic. Lastly, I live in Austin, so it’s hard for me to get to her during the work week. She has been completely understanding of that and able to schedule my fittings on weekends. I HIGHLY recommend Shelbi’s wedding dress alteration services — even if you live in Austin, she is well worth the drive!

She had meetings with me to go over inspiration images, take measurements, select fabrics and discuss every detail. I had over five fittings with Shelbi and she translated my feedback into the most exquisite gown of pale pink satin and tulle. I originally contacted Shelbi to do alterations on my wedding gown since she was local to my area & specialized in custom wedding gowns, I was very skeptical of the reviews for typical run of the mill alteration shops in my area. She did a phenomenal job on my dress & then went above & beyond to find me a veil that worked with the unique color of my gown! I was blown away with her great customer service & attention to detail. I got to see some of her custom gowns she was working on while at her office & WOW! While I absolutely loved my wedding gown I wish I would have found her sooner to design a custom gown for me, I would HIGHLY recommend Shelbi for all of your wedding gown needs!

I adored Shelbi! The single most stressful thing about my wedding day was the dress I'd chosen (the year before). It was so gorgeous, but ultimately it was not a simple "throw it on" type of dress. I worried so much about how it would look and fit and as the wedding date got closer, I began to really panic that I wouldn't feel my best when I finally wore it down the aisle. I started wondering if alterations might be a good idea, and by searching online, I found Shelbi. Thank goodness. She made me feel so beautiful in the dress from the very start, but made suggestions about how to make it look even better through some simple alterations and a gorgeous bustle. I can't thank her enough for that. Looking back, part of me does wish I had worked with her on designing a custom dress from the beginning! I just hadn't moved to Texas yet :)
