For indoor weddings, The Ferrante’s Bay View Ballroom features full-length windowed views of sparkling ocean waters and endless blue skies. This 3,520-square-foot space is a picturesque spot where up to 180 guests can celebrate the newlyweds on the ballroom’s dance floor. Being the only function space on the 10th floor of the hotel, couples have exclusive access to this location for their exciting wedding celebration. For events with longer guest lists, the San Carlos Ballroom is a spacious private banquet hall with flexible event space that boasts high ceilings. This ballroom can comfortably host up to 450 wedding guests. A number of outdoor areas allow for elegant ceremonies to be held against a breathtaking ocean backdrop. Other notable features of this hotel venue include wheelchair-accessible facilities and private dressing suites.

Dreams came true!

We are incredibly happy with our wedding events at the Monterey Marriott. We really got to enjoy every minute of our wedding weekend, because we knew that Kimberly, Jamie, Joe, and the team were on top of every detail.

We hosted our wedding rehearsal dinner, afterparty, brunch, and other small events at the Marriott. The property has event spaces of different sizes - our events ranged from 60 to 240 people.

Our rehearsal dinner and brunch were in the Ferrantes ballroom - this space is stunning, and worked well for both plated and buffet meals (with amazing service for both). The glass walls with views of the ocean and Monterey are magical, and from this space, you get the full benefit of being at the tallest building in Monterey. Our afterparty was in the Characters bar, which had enough space for a dance floor, food, and bar for 100, plus a great sound system. Finally, we hosted a few smaller events in a hospitality suite - this was a great option, as it opened up to the pool deck, so we could entertain more casually.

Beyond the venue - the Monterey Marriott team was really what made our events shine. From the very first day working with our catering executive Jamie, I felt that we were in good hands. Jamie helped us scope event structure many different ways and showed us spaces multiple times before we signed a contract, so that we could be sure the Marriott would be a good fit for us. In addition, she helped us set up reasonable spend minimums so that we could continue refining our events while having venues + room rates locked in. Jamie checked in with us throughout the process to ensure we had everything we needed, including following up with us in person the day after our wedding, which we really appreciated.

Our event manager Kimberly took the time to make sure every detail was taken care of for our wedding weekend. She answered a ton of long emails, texts, and phone calls from us and kept track of many unique requests over a period of 14 months. Kimberly really took the time to understand what was important to us and why we were asking for specific things, so that she could make sure our vision came to life. Kimberly said to us, a few times, “I will personally take care of this” - and we knew things were in good hands. From room layouts, to salad green mix percentage, to being on call for our whole wedding weekend over a holiday - Kim truly came through and made our experience exceptional.

If you’re considering booking a room block for your wedding, the Marriott is great to work with, even if all of your events aren’t on-property. Our rooming coordinator Sandy was able to adjust details of our booking website to make it easier to navigate for our guests, and the Marriott team (including Olivia at the front desk) helped us place guests into specific rooms so that we could keep our party together. In addition, an online room block portal made it easy for us to track the rooms that had been booked, by who, and for how many nights, without needing to request that information repeatedly from the Marriott team.

Finally - we’d like to call out the catering manager Joe, who took the time to understand our catering needs and gave recommendations for how we could improve our dish selection and flow. Joe and his team were able to manage all of our (many) dietary restrictions and cook amazing meals for multiple events ranging from 60 to 240 guests.

We strongly recommend hosting wedding events at the Monterey Marriott. For 14 months, we felt that the team was trying to get to know and understand our family and our needs so that they could better tailor our event - a true example of hospitality. Plus, the downtown location with stunning water views can’t be beat. Thank you to the Monterey Marriott team for making our wedding dreams come true!

Best Customer Service Ever!

We toured the Marriott back in 2019. Our wedding was originally Oct. 2020 but of course we postponed due to COVID. Michele was absolutely amazing. We rescheduled our wedding 8 times. She was so patient with us and helped us with everything and anything. The day of the wedding Michele was amazing. She helped with the big and little things. We didn't have a wedding coordinator and everyone told me that we would regret it but with Michele I never once had a worry about the venue, our vendors, or the food, and really the day of. She even kept some of the family drama calmed down which was totally out of her job description but she is what made my day run so smoothly. I would hold another event here just because of Michele.

Outstanding!

Nancy, Jamie and the entire staff at the Monterey Marriott completely outdid our expectations for our daughter's wedding! They did not miss a detail! Everything was perfect! Our daughter had the wedding of her dreams, and we got to relax and enjoy it, because everything was perfect!

Wedding at Monterey Marriott

We highly recommend Monterey Marriott for wedding venue. It has an amazing view of the coast so that you don't need to worry about bad weathers. The team is also amazing. Nancy and Jamie was always prompt to respond to our emails, and took care of all the details of the wedding. We didn't need to hire a coordinator because Jamie and Nancy did an amazing job organizing everything including on the day of the wedding. On the day of the wedding, the team took care of all little details such as proactively help change our sweetheart table flowers from a tall vase to a plate so the flowers didn't blocked people from seeing us, helped put out white aisle runner right before the ceremony so that guests won't step on it and make it dirty, helped grabbed vendor meals, etc etc. We could not be happier about the wedding venue and highly recommend to anyone considering Monterey Marriott. Thank you Nancy, Jamie, and the team!

From the beginning until the end, the Monterey Marriott was there for every step of the way to ensure that our wedding reception was a dream come true! Our wedding coordinator was accommodating, caring and flexible during our planning process and throughout the big day. We were thrilled with the level of professionalism of every Monterey Marriott staff member we encountered throughout our wedding process, from the service staff to the chef and our coordinator. Our hats off to the chef who made delicious entrees for our wedding guest. To this day, our guest still talk about the wonderful flavors of all the dishes, specifically the mushroom soup and the huge steaks served ! Thank you to the Monterey Marriott from the bottom of our hearts for making our wedding day so special and memorable!!!
