Barn & Farm Wedding Venues in Monterey

If you are considering Holly Farm as the venue for your wedding, and you just want the tl;dr, then here are my three most important suggestions for you: 1) You should absolutely go with Holly Farm. 2) You should accept every piece of advice Erin, Ryan, and the rest of the incredible team have for you along the way. 3) You should start getting excited right now about La Creme because their food is out of this world. Picking Holly Farm as our venue was the first choice we made in our wedding planning process, and trust me when I say that it was by far the best one. The pictures speak for themselves, and yes, it's as amazing as it looks (though if you haven't visited, you should take the excuse - it's truly stunning in person), but the real game changer is the team. The Holly Farm fam has been at this for decades, and it SHOWS. They cater to your needs and your vision, whether you want to be super hands on and into the nitty gritty on everything, or whether you want somebody to completely take the reins for you. We were so so appreciative for Erin's help during the planning process; any time we were stuck on something, she had a recommendation ready that was never just "off the shelf". We didn't want to be totally consumed by wedding planning all the time, and even though Erin had a big list of vendors ready to go, we were more than happy to listen every time she said "here's the 2 who I think you guys would love". It's really really telling to me that every single vendor we spoke to - without exception, including the ones we didn't end up choosing - all said some version of the same thing: "oh man I LOVE doing weddings at Holly Farm". Here's what I'll say about the weekend itself - it truly feels like you are staying at a luxury resort where you and your friends are the only guests. The entire staff is so attentive, so friendly, and they take care of all the details and logistics so that your only job really is to just enjoy the weekend and stay relaxed. We cooked a huge friends and family dinner in the Adobe and they cleaned the entire kitchen for us! Anytime we were hanging out in the evenings they rolled the portable heaters up without us asking! They moved our rental equipment around to make cool outdoor spaces for us so that we could get more use out of it than just the wedding itself! And nothing felt so satisfying as passing by Ryan on a path and hearing "hey I just lit your fireplace for you!". Of everything we loved about our wedding, the thing we loved most was getting to have this full weekend experience with our closest friends and family in one place, made truly special by the care the entire Holly Farm team put into making us feel at ease and at home. And one final thing - lest I leave you with the impression that this is only about good vibes - the operations for the wedding itself were incredible. Every vendor knows the team and knows the venue, everything works like clockwork without you having to supervise anything, and Erin, Ryan, and their staff have things so tightly coordinated that we didn't have to stress about logistics at all once the weekend got started. I can't emphasize enough how big a difference that made to us compared to some horror stories we'd heard from other weddings. Here are some final quick hits on other things you might be wondering about - but seriously, pick Holly Farm: - I didn't write an entire review for Tamie and La Creme, because it would be just as long, but they do amazing work. This is straight up excellent food, not excellent "wedding" food. - The rooms and buildings are very cool and very comfortable. - Yes, the Paraiso suite is "open air". Yes, it really does stay warm. Having a roaring fire in there, plus a heated blanket on the bed....A+. - The optional River House for extra space is definitely walkable (~3 mins), but it's nice to have flashlights at night. - Having the flexibility to use the space however you want for the entire weekend is a highly highly underrated perk. We had people hanging out on Thursday and Friday and it was a ton of fun. Highly recommend making plans that utilize the space every day. - We were nervous about the higher cost at first, but asking friends and family who stayed on site to pay for rooms turned out to not be a very big deal, and what we charged them was still way less than area hotels. - The music has to switch from DJ's speakers to house speakers at 9:30pm, but the house speakers can stay on all night if you want. We had just as much fun after the switchover. - No curfew is also a huge perk not to overlook. Erin and Ryan if you're reading this THANK YOU SO MUCH AGAIN YOU GUYS ARE ROCK STARS!!

This venue is amazing. They were very accommodating and even let us set up early Friday morning. Leilani and Emily were so great to work with and very knowledgeable. The on-site lodging for all our friends was a bonus and the food was so good. Recommend this 5/5

Roaring Camp was the most beautiful and unique venue and the team there is incredible! They truly help you so much with every detail and the location is unmatched!

The Barns are both a beautiful place to hold your wedding, and the staff and event planners are absolutely wonderful. I cannot recommend them highly enough (shoutout to Makenna and Jillian). - The whole process is organized to make sure no balls are dropped - the food is incredible (several guests said it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding) - there are a lot of small details the staff does to make you have a good time, including proactively bringing items you may need - everything ran on time and professionally, so you didn't need to worry We're joking now that not a single thing went wrong, largely because of their work. Cannot recommend them enough!

We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect venue than Cowell Haybarn! From the moment we first visited, we were captivated by the natural beauty and rustic charm of the space. Surrounded by ocean views and that warm, golden California light, the Haybarn creates a stunning and serene backdrop that feels both magical and intimate. It truly sets the stage for unforgettable moments. What made our experience even more special was the ease of working with the venue coordinator. She was incredibly responsive, professional, and genuinely invested in making our day as smooth and stress-free as possible. From early planning to last-minute details, the coordinator went above and beyond to ensure everything ran seamlessly. Their knowledge of the space and calm demeanor made a huge difference — we always felt supported and in great hands. If you’re looking for a venue that combines natural beauty with a team that truly cares, Cowell Haybarn is it. We’re so grateful we chose this gem for our celebration!

One of the most beautiful venue! Chloe gave us a tour of the place and once I saw it I knew this was the place. There’s nothing around like this location. The barn is so beautiful it also comes with long white curtains and light decorations. Also the barn opens up through the back, front, and side if you choose to open it all. If you decide to have the back open you get the pool view. There’s so many spots to take pictures from antique wagon, truck, pool, and inside the barn! On are Wedding date everyone was complimenting the location it was sooo beautiful! (Can’t wait too receive all the pictures)

My husband and I started looking around March of 2024 for venues to get married in the same year. We live near Sydalyn Hill and knew it was a venue, but had never been and weren’t sure about availability. So, I set up a visit with Gwyn and discovered what an amazing property it is. And even better - they had availability in August! We had about 5 months to pull together a ~125 person wedding, and it went absolutely perfectly. Gwyn and Jonathon were super supportive, allowing us to visit several times, promptly answering questions, and being open to our ideas. We were required to use a wedding planner, and it was a huge help, making things come together way better than I could have done on my own. The views, facilities, and activities were incredible, and riding up to the ceremony in the old truck seemed to really surprise and delight our guests. Several folks said to me afterwards this was the most beautiful wedding they’ve been to. I would whole heartedly recommend Sydalyn Hill to anyone looking for a venue in the Santa Cruz Mountains; it was a beautiful, magical, extraordinary day for us.

Our wedding at this venue was absolutely perfect! The outdoor setting was stunning — surrounded by beautiful landscapes that made every photo look magical. The property owners were both professional and incredibly personable, going above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. Their communication and organization were top-notch, which made the entire planning process stress-free and enjoyable. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate our special day!

Bar Sz is the epitome of professionalism and care. We recently got married on the ranch and everything about the venue was perfect. The Borlands are amazing people and really make you feel at home. We recently had our wedding at Mission Vineyard Ranch in San Juan Bautista, and it turned out even better than we imagined. The venue is absolutely beautiful—especially during sunset with the open skies—and photos simply don’t do justice to the view. Katie, our host, was incredible from start to finish. She was professional, warm, and always quick to help with any questions or details. She made the entire planning process and wedding day completely stress-free, and there’s nothing more we could have asked for. The venue is also very fairly priced, and we had access to it for the entire weekend, from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon. It’s such an intimate and charming place, and all our friends and family loved it. If you’re looking for a wedding venue, I highly recommend visiting Mission Vineyard Ranch in person to truly appreciate its beauty!
