About

The Hilltop

Located just 5 miles from Highway 1, the Hilltop has been in the same family for over 77 years and is part of the legacy left by Anita Price. Over the years the Hilltop has provided respite to its residents and guests through it’s beautiful 360 degree views of the Monterrey Bay, Santa Cruz Mountains and peaceful valleys. The Hilltop is a family heirloom whose current stewards have added to its natural beauty half an acre of lawn next to a lap pool with views of the Monterrey Bay that’s perfect for larger ceremonies, receptions and cocktail hour, a west facing fire pit garden perfect for more intimate sunset ceremonies, a meandering waterfall following the path to the bridal suite and a kitchen garden with wooden bench swing and tea setting both perfect for gorgeous photos and many other landscape additions that continue today. The flexibility, variety, and character you'll experience at the Hilltop will ensure that your special day will represent you and provide incredible memories and photo opportunties.

Setup and Rehearsal - Take your time to setup the day before your big day and don't be rushed through your rehearsal. Load up the full size refrigerator with drinks and treats and leave your dress, make-up in the bridal suite for the next day.

Wedding Day - Arrive with your entourage early for the big day and get ready in your suite while enjoying the private patio and lawn area perfect for candid get ready photos away away from arriving guests, vendors, and the busyness. A parking attendant will ensure that your guests know where to park and that they find their way.

As guests arrive they will be greated with a cold drink a sign in book and table to leave their gifts and be invited to mingle around the pool until they are invited to take their seats for the ceremony.

Choose from three unique ceremony sites. Get married under the old magnolia tree with views of the kitchen garden and the distance mountains as your backdrop while your guests are seated in chairs on the elevated sloped lawn. For smaller groups we'll setup your arch along the edge of the fire pit garden that'll see the green valley as your back drop and depending on the time of your ceremony an incredible sunset. If you prefer a more traditional guest seating arrangement and longer isle walk, we'll setup on the poolside lawn with a panorama view of the distant mountains and Monterey Bay.

After the applause guest will be invited back poolside for cocktail hour while the wedding party takes photos around the grounds and various gardens. Guests will find a wine barrel bar stocked with whatever the couple desires (BYOB), cocktail tables, umbrellas or heaters and lawn games to keep the conversations flowing until the reception.

For the reception dinner vendors will have plenty of space to setup away from the poolside lawn where guests will be seated at tables arranged to the couples liking.

As dinner wraps up there is plenty of space and electricty for the dance floor and DJ. The lights around the pool will provide ambiance for those that prefer to mingle away from the dance floor and the fire pit garden is a great place for final toasts for the remaining guests.

Day After - Enjoy your day without having to cleaning up until the following day, leave the trash and recycling bagged on-site, have your rentals picked up and gather your belongings.
