If you want someone who cares, Lexi is not your girl!
I debated whether to write this but ultimately feel it’s important for other brides to have full transparency before making such a significant investment.
I booked this team for my wedding hair and makeup based on their branding and pricing, which position them as a high-end, luxury service. Because of that, I had very high expectations—not only for the final look, but for the overall experience and level of professionalism. I believed that paying a premium would come with greater attention to detail, communication, and care for such an important day.
To be fair, the team was friendly and enjoyable to be around on the day of, and Katie did an incredible job on my makeup; I truly loved how it turned out.
Unfortunately, the overall experience fell short in several key areas.
First, there was a lack of transparency from the beginning. After booking, Lexi told me she would be doing my hair and makeup on my wedding day. At no point during the booking process was it clearly communicated that she would not be the artist unless an additional exclusivity fee was paid. This was not outlined in the investment guide or explained in a way that a first-time bride would reasonably understand.
I later discovered, through social media, that she would be on vacation the week of my wedding. When I reached out for clarification, I was told she had a “scheduling conflict,” and then that she was booked by another bride who had paid the exclusivity fee. This came as a complete surprise. I requested a phone call to discuss my concerns but have never received one to date.
Once I accepted that she would not be involved, I expected extra care to be taken in assigning an artist who was highly experienced in the specific look I requested.
Second, the style I requested, Old Hollywood glam waves, was not achieved at either my trial or on my wedding day. During the trial, I was effectively double-booked, which limited the time available to properly execute the look, despite bringing extensions and discussing key elements like rollers. This undermined the purpose of the trial, which is to build confidence ahead of the wedding day.
On the wedding day, we again ran behind schedule despite built-in buffer time, and I ultimately had to leave my appointment without feeling fully satisfied to stay on the predetermined timeline. The final hairstyle was not close to the vision I had clearly communicated. It was evident that the assigned artist did not have strong experience with this style.
What was especially frustrating was that, rather than acknowledging this, the explanation I received afterward focused on minor factors such as brief moments when I stepped away for normal wedding-day movement. These were minimal and occurred after we were already behind schedule. These are standard conditions that experienced professionals should be prepared to manage.
At the end of the day, hair and makeup are the core services this team provides, and I trusted them to execute the vision we had discussed. That did not happen.
Lastly, at this price point, I expected a much higher level of care, accountability, and communication. especially from the owner. My request for a phone call prior to the wedding was ignored, and the response I received afterward felt impersonal and focused more on deflecting responsibility than taking accountability.
As a bride, you only get one wedding day. There are no do-overs, and no amount of money can change that once it’s over. To invest at this level and not receive the look you envisioned, or the level of service promised, is incredibly disappointing.
For a company that positions itself as a luxury service, this experience did not reflect that standard. If you’re looking for a team that treats your wedding day with the level of care and attention expected for such a once-in-a-lifetime event, I would recommend asking detailed questions and carefully considering your options before booking. Luxe by Lexi did not live up to expectations.
