My husband and I held our reception here on a Saturday, and it was wonderful! The staff were very friendly and made sure everything looked perfect. We hosted our guests in their recently renovated Reflections on the Lake room and everyone thought it was beautiful! The dusty blue walls, crystal chandelier, and gold accents perfectly complemented our color scheme and the beautiful view of Cheat Lake in the winter. (And in the summer, from what we could tell when we toured!)
We elected to do a seated dinner with the Romantic package. The food was delicious, though it could have been a bit warmer. Regardless, the culinary team at Lakeview was fantastic about accommodating our guests’ dietary restrictions! Some of our guests had celiac, diabetes, or both. They ensured that our guests with restrictions would not only be able to safely enjoy their dinner, but also, upon our request, acquired gluten-free, no sugar added sorbets so they could enjoy a safe dessert too! The kitchen even cut and serve a dessert we had brought in for one of our guests in the specific way we had asked!
Lakeview was overall very easy to work with. There was one point during which we experienced a lapse in communication (the wedding sales coordinator Savannah was laid off, and our new point of contact became the manager), but I don’t believe that would be likely to occur for another couple who would be booking right now.
A few more points of interest:
Lakeview did a great job cutting and serving our cake! Once we cut it, the Josh carefully carried it back to the kitchen. He seems very experienced and, again, was very careful, but we might have felt a little more comfortable putting the cake on a wheeled cart instead of a table.
They also were great about remembering to set aside the top tier of our cake! One can tell they put a lot of care into making sure it looked the same in the box as it had sitting on top of the cake. For this, we’re very thankful.
We did have some leftover cake at the end of the night that we meant to pick up on Monday (Lakeview is closed on Sundays) when we came to clean up our decorations, but it unfortunately had been tossed. We just wish that they had put it in the fridge instead.
We elected to use our own napkins, and the staff was great about this! They not only pressed and folded them in the way we asked, but they also laundered them for us after our reception!
They have a speaker and microphone available to use for events. Both were great and very intuitive to switch between AUX and Bluetooth. The speaker is definitely loud enough for the entire Reflections room.
They let us do a large cookie table display at no charge for the tables! This is a very meaningful tradition from where my husband and I are from, and so we were very happy that they allowed our family/friends to bring all that they had baked and were so accommodating as to restock the table with the extra cookies we had.
Lakeview has very beautiful gold-beaded glass chargers for couples to use at their event. We found that the dinner plates will spin and slide around on these chargers. We were able to completely solve this problem by cutting out 8.5” circles out of shelf liner and placing these between the charger and the dinner plate.
Finally, we presume they began renovations on their hotel while we were planning our wedding. Each contract comes with a block of 10 rooms and an additional complementary room for the groom and bride. Given that the hotel would not have been available on our date, the manager upgraded our block and complementary room to the condos Lakeview has on site. We had 10 condos and our own in the block. They let us use our condo to get ready the morning of, and kept the rate for the other condos the same as it would have been for the hotel rooms!
In total, we would absolutely recommend choosing Lakeview for a wedding reception.

I had a hard time deciding on a venue. We chose Lakeview and I could not be any more happier! The staff catered to our every need. Rachel was great at coordinating. She was very responsive and made our day perfect! The hotel is older and could use some TLC but, you can not beat the staff and the views! I highly recommend.

Lakeview was the only place we looked at for a wedding venue and it was the best choice. My husband and I are actually from Pa and wanted to do a close destination wedding. We went with all their recommended vendors and they all were great. I loved the fact that they did the wedding set up and supplied basic linens, centerpieces, tables and all the things that can really increase the wedding costs . The food was great and the staff was amazing! We also got to take advantage of the golf course, the lake, pool and restaurants nearby during our little mini wedding vacation. Great location!! Lakeview was perfect and made our wedding process stressful! I wouldn’t have changed a thing.
