Hotel Wedding Venues in Eastern Mexico

We went to Paradisus Cancun last year and we loved it so much that we decided to get married this June. I worked with Marlene as the wedding coordinator and everything came out great. Our wedding consisted of 25 people and we were put in the royal service building. Prior to arriving to Paradisus Cancun we picked flowers, wedding package, audio & lights and photograph package. The responses via email took about 24-48 hours and I got worried at times but I understand they are coordinating future weddings and having a daily wedding in the resort and everyone is busy. A few days before the wedding Marlene, Katia (decorator), Nina (Audio & lights) and Camilo (sales photographer) had a meeting with us to go over the wedding itinerary. My makeup, hair and nails were done in the Paradisus Spa and I truly loved it. The decorations from Alquimia Events were truly amazing and everything that I dreamed of. The photographer Juan from Novia Mia Photography knows the hotel very well on where to take great pictures. The DJ from JSAV was really good and everyone danced all night and I liked the lighting that they provided. Baltazar, Carlos and the rest of the banquet staff were very attentive and everyone talked how great their service was during the wedding. The only issues that I had that involved my guests was that only 1 restaurant could hold 25 head count. Most of the restaurants are small and couldn’t hold the head count we had.

My wedding was rescheduled due to Covid and Elizabeth held my hand the whole way. She was responsive and dependable. My wedding set up was PERFECT. I was able to just enjoy my day and she handled everything. I have no complaints.

Hilda is amazing and helped make our wedding perfect! Ever since we were put in contact with her 5 months before the wedding, she has been responsive and helpful addressing all of our questions and concerns. We had several zoom calls leading up to our trip where Hilda was able to discuss with us what was still needed and any suggestions she had. When we got to the resort, she was there to greet us and started walking us through the process which made us feel more at ease. Hilda and Ingrid always made themselves available if we had questions or needed anything while at Paradisus. During the wedding, everything went so smoothly and it ended up being perfect.

I cannot thank Yamina Bermudez enough for her wedding planning and hospitality for our wedding. As a wedding planner, she is the perfect person we would want to plan our wedding. All decisions were made through email and she was always responsive right away. We planned for a dinner rehearsal with 30 family members the night before the wedding and the food and service was to die for. As for wedding day, everything was put together without a hitch and everything was perfect. Our ceremony was held on the pool terrace just looking onto the beach. Absolutely beautiful. Our reception was held by the pool and our DJ was one of the best parts of the party. There was a moment when we looked around and every single one of our guests was dancing with us. We asked for a party, and thats exactly what we got! The food (steak and shrimp) was amazing and the attention to detail was something we will never forget. Secrets the Vine is the perfect place for a beautiful destination wedding.

We had our wedding at Excellence Riviera Cancun on March 15th, and it was truly everything I could have dreamed of and more! The whole experience was so smooth, so fun, and I would absolutely do it again! For starters, if you are looking to book your wedding at this resort, I highly recommend joining this Facebook group: Excellence Riviera Cancun Weddings. There are tons of past brides and grooms who can answer questions, provide insight, and have given reviews. There are also TONS of photos shared in there that can help your inspiration! Welcome Party – Beach Oregano We started the weekend with a welcome party on the sand at Beach Oregano. We had a 3-hour open bar and served our signature cocktail, the “Spicy Marry Me Margarita.” We opted to not add food options, but we told guests to eat beforehand or grab dinner after. It seemed silly to pay extra for appetizers when the guests can eat anywhere around the resort since it's all inclusive. We had 7 high-top tables, no chairs, just a pretty casual setup. I would recommend bringing a speaker to play music or something. I know others have said this too, but it slipped my mind. They had Karaoke starting just shortly after our party ended so our group walked over to that and closed out the night. Getting Ready My bridesmaids all came to my room to get ready with me, and we had one of the junior suites. It was more than spacious enough for the 9 of us to hang out and get dressed. Everyone did their own makeup, and one of our groomsmen (who’s also my bestie and a hairstylist) came and helped with hair for anyone who wanted it. The guys got ready in one of the groomsmen's rooms. Hair & Makeup (Bride) My hair and makeup were included in our package, so I went to the spa the morning of. I don’t remember the name of the stylist, but she did both hair and makeup and was honestly incredible. I told her I wanted a light, natural makeup look and needed an updo that could handle frizz, humidity, and wind since I have naturally curly hair. She made sure my hair didn’t budge, even after hours of dancing, my hair still looked flawless. Florals We used the resort florist to make the most of our included package and concessions, and I was really happy with how everything turned out. I told Elizabeth to have them make it colorful and fun, and that I wanted it to be primarily pink and orange with some purple and blue mixed in and sent her some pictures for inspo. My bouquet ended up being a custom mix of BB25 and BB26 styles, while the groomsmen had birds of paradise boutonnieres (BB16). For the reception, we picked centerpiece style BC15 but asked them to match the bouquets. If you have an idea of what you want, just ask them! The Ceremony – Beach Gazebo The ceremony took place at the Beach Gazebo and was everything I dreamed of. The ceremony setup was all included with our package: river rocks and candles for decor, an ivory carpet aisle runner, and white chairs. We added a couple of cocktail tables to hold fans and tissues, and Velvet Design did the signage for that. It was extremely windy that day, and our runway ended up being buried in the sand, but oh well! My dress looked amazing blowing in the wind and the photos are stunning! Cocktail Hour – Kitchen Table Terrace After the ceremony, we moved to the Kitchen Table Terrace for cocktail hour. Our signature drinks were the “Mint To Be Mojito” and the “Marry Me Margarita.” We had three hot and three cold appetizers being passed, they were all SO good! We also had the Romantic Trio perform in mariachi style. They were such a hit—my husband's family is Mexican and Nicaraguan, and everyone was singing along and making requests. It was a really great addition! Reception – Beach Oregano Our reception was magical. We extended it to 4 hours (HIGHLY recommend doing this!) to allow more time for dinner, cake, and plenty of dancing. The setup included a sweetheart table and 9 guest tables with 5–8 guests per table. We also had the open bar included in the package, and chose the Marry Me Margarita for the signature cocktail. Every single thing was delicious and we heard so many compliments from our guests! Cake We went with the heart-shaped 3-tier cake in tres leches flavor. It was SO good—super moist and creamy. I only got a few bites, but they were worth it. We brought our own cake topper and the resort provided the knife and server. DJ & Dance Floor We used the resort DJ and he absolutely killed it. We also paid extra for the RGB pixel dance floor—definitely worth it because it gets really dark on the beach at night, and the lights gave it an extra party vibe. We asked our guests to submit song requests when they RSVPed and created a Spotify playlist from that. I gave that list to the DJ with a few “must plays” and “do not plays.” I asked for dinner music to be the slower/not so dancy stuff, then for him to just keep the party going all night. He totally delivered. After the cake cutting, he asked everyone to get out on the dance floor for our photographer to take a group picture, she got the shot, then he started playing Danza Kuduro which got everyone hyped, and the dance floor stayed packed ALL NIGHT! Decor by Velvet Design Velvet was amazing to work with and handled all our signage and lighting. We had: 10 strings of lights over the reception area (a must for beach weddings after dark) Welcome sign Signs for fan/tissue tables “Wish You Were Here” memorial table sign Shot glass seat assignment wall Table numbers Photo guestbook sign Our Coordinator – Elizabeth Elizabeth was everything I needed in a wedding coordinator and more. Communication with the resort was a little slow to start (which is super normal for destination weddings), but once we got closer, she was responsive, helpful, and made everything feel so easy. She got on video calls, answered every question, and handled last-minute details like a total pro. On the day of, when she came to drop off the flowers, she told me it was extremely windy and offered to move the ceremony and/or reception somewhere else. She even walked me through other options. But when I asked if anything was unsafe (thinking lights or speakers falling), she said no, it might just be a little uncomfortable. I told her I could handle some wind, and I’m so glad I trusted my gut. She supported that decision and made sure everything was still perfect despite the weather. Photography We had our photographer travel from Phoenix, AZ. I had seen photos that the resort photographer does and it just didn't quite fit my vibe. Also, the price for what you get just didn't seem worth it to me. We DID have Seasons do photos of the ceremony because it was included in our package and WOW I am so glad that I brought my own photographer. Lacie's photos are just significantly better than what Seasons provided. Lacie Photography is her page if anyone is interested. She also shot our engagement photos and our local church ceremony before our Cancun wedding. Her work is incredible and I am so so so glad I found her! Prices I opted to not add my costs in my review because I know that the resort has changed their packages and prices since we booked our wedding and I don't want to mislead anyone. If you have any specific questions, I am happy to share, but just be aware that it may not reflect accurately. Final Thoughts This whole experience reminded me exactly why we chose a destination wedding—to let go of the stress and just enjoy the moment. The team at Excellence truly knows what they’re doing. From planning to execution, everything ran so smoothly. The staff was professional, kind, and genuinely cared about making our day special, I truly felt like royalty the whole time. The food was amazing, the setting was beautiful, and the entire vibe was full of love and celebration. If you’re considering getting married here—do it. You’ll be in great hands!

My husband and I wanted to have a destination wedding in Mexico at the Excellence after staying there 3 times prior. I can say without a doubt that our wedding was the most beautiful day and happiest day of our lives. Paola from XPM and Diana from Velvet Design made all of our dreams come true and details come to life. I didn't use a wedding planner and coordinated everything myself, and I don't speak Spanish, so the destination wedding was not without stress, however, everything worked out perfectly in the end! The resort gives you a promocode that makes you eligible for certain promotions when guests use it to stay at the resort.. just make sure you use it on your OWN reservation too.. otherwise you won't get the promotions. Our wedding was at the beginning of rainy season and the sky decided to stay sunny on our special day. You can trust Paola and the XPM team to give you a truly wonderful wedding experience.

My husband and I were married at Secrets Cancun 10/13/2025 and we truly could not have imagined a more perfect place to celebrate such an important moment in our lives. It was absolutely amazing and the best week of our lives. I’m going to start with a couple of things that did rub me the wrong way, so that I have the rest of the review to gush about all of the amazing things about this resort. It was exceptional!! First off, I advise to read the fine print on anything and everything that you sign. Screen shot and document it all. We did have a small issue when it came to a speaker. It sounds petty, but when they sent us the information on the different wedding packages a speaker was included for the rehearsal dinner. When we got the contract to sign, it wasn’t included. When I brought it to their attention, I was told that their current package did not include the speaker. I tried to explain that wasn’t what we were told and they were honestly impolite about it. She was clear that the speaker was not included and we would have to rent it for an additional $700 for the hour. Luckily I had screen shots of the information on wedding packages and after a bit of back and forth and having our travel agent back us up, it got included. So just a reminder to document everything. Also, communication wasn’t the best. Getting answers and responses via email were sometimes difficult. They have the giant task of planning wedding after wedding so I do kind of understand the delay. We did also receive the final bill before we even had the contract finalized but that wasn’t really an issue. That too was quickly resolved. Overall, minus those minor hiccups, it was a very smooth and stress free experience. I didn’t have to worry about much of the wedding planning. Our coordinator Araly took care of all of it. We talked about the vibe we were looking for and a sort of style of flowers and she took care of the rest. It was stunningly beautiful and blew any expectations that we had out of the park. My unpleasant feelings from before instantly melted away the moment we got there. From the cool towels that we received stepping off the shuttle to our final goodbye hug as we left, she was there for us. 24/7 with anything that we needed. Araly made sure every detail was handled seamlessly, which allowed us to be fully present and enjoy every moment without stress. I couldn’t have been more wrong in my initial impression and I take full responsibility for that. She literally took care of almost every detail of our stay. She did such an amazing job and I am so greatful for her. She’s a wonderful human being. The venue itself was breathtaking—Elegant, and set against the beautiful ocean backdrop. Walking into our ceremony felt like stepping into a dream, and the pictures turned out better than we ever imagined. The service at this entire resort is TOP NOTCH. The staff are the most amazing and accommodating people that I’ve ever met. So friendly and welcoming. The servers are always there with a cold drink and friendly smile. We were in an ocean front swim out suite and they even came up to our pool to get us more drinks. When they say “Welcome home,” they mean it. The entire staff treated our entire group like family. Jesus in the Preferred Lounge was my favorite. He would see me coming and have a drink ready by the time I got there. I can’t emphasize enough how exceptional the service is here. It’s 10/10. The food alone deserves major praise—there was an impressive variety of dining options, and every meal was consistently delicious. Whether we were in the mood for something more upscale or casual, there was always something amazing to choose from, and our guests are still talking about how good the food was. Both our rehearsal dinner on the beach and our reception dinner on the roof top were absolutely delicious. We couldn’t have asked for more. Also 24 hour room service!! There is so much to do and so many shows and acts that we didn’t even see them all in a weeks time. Always something going on and always a fun time. Entertainment at this resort is fantastic! One of the most meaningful parts of the experience was having a group of 58 of our closest friends and family all together to celebrate with us. Everyone had the absolute best time—from relaxing by the Secrets pool to celebrating and popping bottles at one of the Breathless pool parties. Seeing all of our loved ones together in one place, enjoying themselves so fully, made the entire experience even more special and unforgettable. Everyone loved how calm, relaxing, and refined the Secrets side felt. It was the perfect adults-only atmosphere—peaceful, romantic, and never overcrowded. It allowed us to truly slow down and enjoy our time together while still celebrating with our guests. Another perk of staying at Secrets is the Rosewater restaurant. It was fantastic and had some of the best food of our trip. If you’re considering Secrets Cancun for a destination wedding or a romantic getaway, we cannot recommend it enough. It gave us memories we will cherish for a lifetime, and we would choose it again without hesitation. There is already talk of a reunion trip with everyone in a few years.

Fives wedding planning team is incredible, responsive to your needs, and pays attention to details. We enjoyed working with all the team members and they offer high quality arrangements. They offer flexibility with prebuilt plans that allows you to customize the experience.

From the moment we decided on Hyatt Zilara Cancun as our wedding destination, we were met with exceptional service. Our wedding coordinator, Luisa, played a pivotal role in ensuring our special day exceeded all expectations. Her patience, attention to detail, and organizational skills were truly commendable. The ceremony, reception venues and décor were breathtaking. We don’t expect much from “resort food” but we were pleasantly surprised by the culinary team! Food was wonderful and we received many compliments about our menu. Our stay at the hotel was also great. Our guests were not only impressed by the location and accommodations but also by the high quality of service we received from the entire staff throughout our visit. If you’re able to visit for a wedding preview ahead of your event, I highly recommend it. Becoming familiar with the resort and venue and doing the food tasting really helped us fine-tune things. Our destination wedding at Hyatt Zilara Cancun was a dream come true. We are immensely grateful to the entire team for their dedication and hard work in making our special day absolutely perfect.

We really enjoyed the coordination of events by Anat at the Wedding Center at Hilton Playa Del Carmen. She was available for every question I had from the beginning. Every detail from decorators, etc were on point. The food was delicious. The venue was gorgeous that the seaweed smell didn't bother me. We had so many great spots to take pictures. I would recommend venue for your next wedding. And, we had the Penthouse rooftop room that was the topping to our honeymoon after the wedding.
