I can be very Type A (and have built a career in project management) so I was worried that I wouldn't be able to find a coordinator who could 1) handle my personality (admittedly I can be a lot) and 2) could be organized enough that I could truly turn my brain off for my wedding ceremony and just enjoy the day. Johanna absolutely blew us away. Not only is she one of the most organized people I've ever met, she's an incredibly kind and genuine human, and made us feel like we had a true teammate in this crazy wedding planning process.

When people tell you that no matter how much you prepare your wedding will never go exactly according to plan, they mean it. The MORNING of my wedding I received an email from my photobooth vendor that their equipment was broken and that they could no longer fulfill our contract. Johanna helped us secure a replacement vendor in a matter of hours and took care of the logistics so my husband and I could be fully present on our wedding day. We also experienced a crazy rain storm that disrupted a key period of our timeline and had to postpone our outdoor ceremony, but Johanna was there every step of the way taking caring of the last minute change of plans, advocating for us, and making sure the vision we had for our ceremony and reception was executed beautifully in the end.

Where do I even begin?? Hiring Johanna as your planner is the easiest decision you’ll make in wedding planning. And then she makes everything else easy! Johanna is a dream to work with and so excellent at her job. She understood and helped us execute our vision perfectly. From start to finish working with Johanna and the JLM Events team was undoubtedly the best decision we made for our wedding.
Full transparency - I was hesitant to book a coordinator due to budget being the MAIN factor for our wedding and frankly I didn’t think we could spare the expense.
After finding out from our venue that it was a requirement to have a coordinator (turned absolute GODSEND) I found Johanna last June (2025) and from start to finish have been absolutely FLOORED by her dedication, insight, and complete understanding of our needs and wants for the most special day of our lives.
Let me just tell you- Johanna will go ABOVE AND BEYOND for you and then some. I was so thankful to have her as an advocate during this process. As someone who considers herself very “Type A” I had no idea how much of a crucial necessity having someone like Johanna would be during this process. The vendor selection is overwhelming to say the least but getting into the nitty gritty of contracts, Plan B scenarios, and just overall comprehension of this business is not something that is talked about enough in this industry. With the guidance and wisdom of Johanna, I know for a fact our experience was as seamless as it was because of her knowledge and diligence.
She checked in with me routinely leading up to our wedding year and then on a weekly/daily basis once our wedding year hit. Before booking the remainder of our vendors (which were a lot LOL), I would make sure to send her the contracts I received to make sure everything looked okay and with her guidance we were able to avoid some MAJOR possible disasters with some really important vendors (talking Catering & Glam…pretty important :) ).
My whole point is this- you have no idea what you’re looking at or even the questions to ask, even if you think you do, you need someone like Johanna and her team as allies.
We avoided these possible disasters because we had Johanna. And even better, once confirming that it wasn’t in our best interest to book said vendor(s), Johanna would be right there with other options for us that were highly recommended and most important- in our budget. I never once felt pressured or like that I wasn't heard at all with Johanna during this process. She received and heard every ounce of my wants and intentions for this day and for that, I am indebted to her. Our wedding day was such a sacred day and because of the team (led by Johanna ) we didn’t have to worry about ANYTHING. Our main focus was just being present with each other and savoring every second- that’s how it should be!

I can't stress enough how stress-free and organized my wedding was with JLM Design and Events by my side. Our wedding was an absolute dream. It was orderly and smooth as we were able to walk 150 people outside, inside, outside, and inside again. It never felt like I was being rushed or yanked around. After the wedding, I had ten separate people come up to me to express how seamless and organized the wedding was. It had nothing to do with me.
