He is so easy to work with and provides polite directions while at the same time making you laugh and feel entirely comfortable. My husband isn’t really a photo guy but with James working with us it was a breeze. We were obsessed with the shots he got back to us, in record time may I add. He is so flexible with your needs and will capture the love between you in ways that you will seriously cherish forever. Not to mention he is SO AFFORDABLE. We got married at 20 years old and were so so discouraged looking at all of the “insta-famous” photographers and their insane prices. James blew their prices out of the water and seemed too good to be true, however when we received our photos we felt like we should have paid thousands more. His vision is next level, and the pieces he creates can be hung in your home as art, not just a family picture. We wholeheartedly loved our experience and I know you will too. James is the best photographer! For two people who hate having their photo taken, my husband and I had the best time with James! He made us feel so comfortable and the photos are INCREDIBLE. We are from LA and were looking online for a fine art photographer based in San Diego where we held our wedding. I saw his work online and was instantly amazed by his portfolio. We didn’t have a chance to meet before the wedding but even then, we booked him since we were truly captivated by his works. He was very professional and quick to respond. He was very friendly and he nicely addressed all of our questions and concerns. During the wedding day, he shot every moment so beautifully that it even exceeded our expectations! We did our wedding in a catamaran yacht, the setting is unique since we were in limited space and were sailing during the ceremony but he was really adaptable and did an incredible job capturing everything and everyone. He definitely knows how to make great photos, he directed us how to pose for the camera but what we liked most about him is how he can capture real candid moments that look truly special. We, and every single person that has seen our album, loved how every single photo turned out. James shot my surprise proposal and it could not have worked out any better! He responded quickly to my request that was short notice and he really helped me capture such a special moment. If you're looking for a wedding/engagement photographer, look no further. We had our wedding in Atlanta and James agreed to fly over for a couple of days to photograph our wedding. He made the entire process stress-free and communicated all the details with our venue ahead of time to ensure everything went smoothly. We also had our engagement photos shot by him in San Diego and they came out incredible. His photography style is very warm and we received a lot of compliments from our friends on how James was able to bring natural light to every picture. Lots of them ended up using pictures from our wedding as their profile pictures (if this doesn't show you how good he is I don't what will). :)

We highly recommend James Furman Photography to anyone in San Diego and beyond. We were fortunate to stumble upon his beautiful photographs when we were looking for an engagement photoshoot. The shoot itself was so much fun as we hiked Mission Trials. We were so impressed with the beauty and lighting of his photographs that we decided to do another session with him on Moonlight Beach for our San Diego wedding reception after returning from our destination wedding. We have his pictures everywhere - on our walls, in frames, in cards, in our guestbook, in albums... We love the photographs, and we love James' spirit. As an added bonus, he was very reasonably priced and extremely easy to work with.

My wife and I have never heard of fine art wedding photography until we met James and we were in love with what he showed us. We had our first meeting back in late 2019 before our 11/7/2020 wedding. After chatting with him at a coffee shop for about 30 minutes and looking at his photos/work as well as getting to know him as a person, we were sold instantly!

Then when COVID hit in March 2020, there was a lot of scrambling back and forth like most couples who planned a 2020 wedding. James was so easy and a breathe of fresh air to communicate with every step of the way and just his personality and professionalism during this pandemic really made it a lot easier for my wife and I.

The quality of work that James brings to the table is like none other. He made the whole process so easy and to be honest the way he goes about his work, you almost forget he is there as he captures every amazing moment for you and all your guests.

James was a pleasure to work with for our engagement shoot (as well as our upcoming wedding) and really took all our needs and wants into consideration when shooting for us! The pictures turned out beautifully, colors were vibrant and the subjects were well captured and told a beautiful story. He shot both digital and film for us so it was a delight to have both for keepsakes. James is very professional, pleasant, and prompt with responses to questions. He is a wonderful vendor to work with - I highly recommend working with him! Packages for photography were very reasonably priced as well.
