Indian River Life Saving Station is a historic wedding venue located in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. This picturesque property features a museum, gift shop, bridal room and restrooms. They offer space for both your ceremony and reception on their pristine, sandy beach. Indian River Life Saving Station is a unique venue situated off of the Atlantic Ocean, offering your guests beautiful waterfront views.

Facilities and Capacity

Couples can accommodate up to 250 guests at this coastal venue. They offer expansive grounds that can accommodate a 40-foot by 120-foot tent, perfect for your reception directly over the dunes. For your ceremony, you can have the ocean as your backdrop or the Life-Saving Station. If you would like to exchange your vows on the beach, they offer a private pedestrian crossing. There’s also plenty of outdoor space for your cocktail hour, and an open-sided pole shed at your disposal, as well.

Services Offered
This beach venue offers a bridal room on-site, parking for your guests and a preferred vendor list that they ask you to use. We have beach wheelchairs for your oceanside ceremony. Indian River Life Saving Station will provide an on-site attendant to help coordinate the facility side of your use, on rehearsal day, set up and oversee your wedding day. For an additional fee, you can hire a Historical Interpreter for your celebration to keep museum open an hour.

History
This historical venue was built in 1876 as a Life-Saving Service for the United States. This organization later became known as the U.S. Coast Guard, and was created to assist with the large number of shipwrecks along the Eastern seaboard. In 1976, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and in the late 1990s they returned it to its original 1905 appearance. It’s now operated by the Delaware State Parks as a museum, historic site and event venue.

Indian River Life Saving Station is situated approximately one and a half miles north of the Indian River Inlet, within the Delaware Seashore State Park. They're located off of Coastal Highway in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
