The Queen Wilmington, a beautiful historic venue in the greater Wilmington, Delaware area, is the perfect space for couples looking for something unique. Clients can use any of the venue’s three modernized spaces to host any number of events.
Facilities and Capacity
The Queen Wilmington can accomodate a maximum of 600 guests for a couple’s wedding celebration. This includes ceremonies and receptions, bridal showers, engagement parties, and rehearsal dinners. This historic building features an area called the Music Hall, where couples will find extra high ceilings, a stage, and a balcony area. This space can be arranged for ceremonies or receptions. Couples can be the stars of the show when they marry on the venue’s stage. They can also use the stage as the perfect location for their DJ, band, or other musical talent. Fun-loving couples could even turn the space into a heightened dance floor. For couples who want a little less drama on their wedding day, or for those having smaller affairs, the Olympia Room welcomes up to 200 guests. This modern space features white walls and hardwood floors. Perhaps the most striking feature in this event hall however is the large arched windows built into the brick wall. These massive installations add plenty of natural light to a couple’s event during the day. They also make a great frame in photographs for couples who want to exchange vows in this space.
The talented staff at this venue handles all the details for couples, who are invited to sit back and relax in getting ready rooms on their wedding day. The venue offers bar and catering services for the event, as well as assistance with setup and cleanup. An event planner takes the stress of perfection off a couple’s shoulders, organizing the small details so that everything falls into place. Couples can bring in preferred outside vendors for their event. These vendors, and all attendees, will appreciate the convenience of street parking and near-by parking garage as well as venue-wide wifi at The Queen Wilmington.
Bartenders and chefs help to titillate a couple’s palette with drinks and cuisine. Bartenders can serve drinks at a cash, limited, or open bar. They can fill flutes for a champagne toast and pour drinks such as house beer, liquor, and wine, premium liquor, signature drinks, and specialty beer and wine. Following tastings, couples can choose the items they want on their wedding menu with one of The Queen's preferred caterers. These can be served in the following styles:
This venue dates back to 1789 when it was originally built. At that time, it was known as The Indian Queen Hotel. It held United States Freedom celebrations in 1797 and hosted famous guests of celebrity and political stature. Martin Van Buren stayed under its roof in 1829. It has since been renovated in 2011 and turned into a state-of-the-art venue for concerts and weddings.
