Chris Bickford is a photojournalist and fine art wedding photographer located in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. In addition to tis wedding work he has shot assignments for National Geographic, the New York Times, NPR, Time Magazine, Captain Morgan Rum, and others. He has also published a book, Legends of the Sandbar, which is an ode to the Outer Banks and the rag-tag crew of surfers who have made this place their home. He has been a professional photographer for over 15 years, and has shot over 250 wedings.
Chris's style blends classic and contemporary elements, with an emphasis on mood, moment, and drama. He strives to make images that will have as much meaning for you tommorow as they have today. Over the years he has honed his skills at capturing fleeting moments, emotions, and personalities, and has developed the experience to roll with whatever challenges your day might present. Stormy weather? Groom running late? Guys don't know how to tie a bow tie? Chris takes it all in stride and makes a great story out of it all. He moves quickly, keeps his cool, and smiles a lot. He is also a master at getting good pictures from people who insist they "don't photograph well", mainly from just making them comfortable and capturing their expressions as they get caught up in the drama and joy of the day.
Chris has photographed everything from private one-hour elopements to big-budget weddings with over 500 guests, from Nantucket to Montego Bay in Jamaica. Whatever you've got planned, Chris can help you make sure your memories of it are happy ones, long after the dress has been put in the closet and the flowers have been thrown away.
Because every wedding is different and couples have their own priorities in terms of budget, Chris Bickford is committed to making his work affordable to all. If he's the photographer you want, he will do what he can to make things work for you. If you like the work you see here, please post a request for information and Chris will get back to you promptly. And congratulations on your engagement!

I can't describe how ecstatic we were with Chris! He was AMAZING! He offered an awesome package to include engagement, bridal and wedding photos. He worked so hard at our wedding to capture all the photos I wanted, and we couldn't ask for more from him. He was very responsive with all of our questions, and was very accommodating when I had to reschedule my bridal portraits due to weather, Get him. Stop looking at other photographers, pick up the phone, and do the thing. You won't regret it.Sent on 08/04/2017

I can't possibly say enough about Chris Bickford "Fine Art" Wedding Photography. It is just that.... Fine Art. Just look at his website. He truly is a master of his craft. His perspective captured our day beautifully. Chris had the perfect level of professionalism; just relaxed enough to make us completely ourselves on the weightiest day of our lives, and experienced enough to snap INCREDIBLE shots. He was kind, fun, serious, genuine and completely tuned in to us and our guests. His approach to our wedding photography brought out the best in all of us and captured our personalities perfectly . He helped make the afternoon/evening feel light, kept us in the moment, and provided the most amazing photographs that we will cherish for the rest of our lives, so many that it's difficult to decide which ones to frame for our wall. He provided incredible customer service that didn't end with the wedding day. Just a few weeks after our big day, we had hundreds of pictures in our inbox - he understands how anxious newlyweds are to get back their photography and, holy moly, did he deliver. I can't say enough wonderful things about Chris and his incredible talent. Book with confidence and enjoy the day knowing your photo memories are in good hands.Sent on 06/15/2017
