Chris Bickford is a photojournalist and fine art wedding photographer located in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. In addition to tis wedding work he has shot assignments for National Geographic, the New York Times, NPR, Time Magazine, Captain Morgan Rum, and others. He has also published a book, Legends of the Sandbar, which is an ode to the Outer Banks and the rag-tag crew of surfers who have made this place their home. He has been a professional photographer for over 15 years, and has shot over 250 wedings.
Chris's style blends classic and contemporary elements, with an emphasis on mood, moment, and drama. He strives to make images that will have as much meaning for you tommorow as they have today. Over the years he has honed his skills at capturing fleeting moments, emotions, and personalities, and has developed the experience to roll with whatever challenges your day might present. Stormy weather? Groom running late? Guys don't know how to tie a bow tie? Chris takes it all in stride and makes a great story out of it all. He moves quickly, keeps his cool, and smiles a lot. He is also a master at getting good pictures from people who insist they "don't photograph well", mainly from just making them comfortable and capturing their expressions as they get caught up in the drama and joy of the day.
Chris has photographed everything from private one-hour elopements to big-budget weddings with over 500 guests, from Nantucket to Montego Bay in Jamaica. Whatever you've got planned, Chris can help you make sure your memories of it are happy ones, long after the dress has been put in the closet and the flowers have been thrown away.
Because every wedding is different and couples have their own priorities in terms of budget, Chris Bickford is committed to making his work affordable to all. If he's the photographer you want, he will do what he can to make things work for you. If you like the work you see here, please post a request for information and Chris will get back to you promptly. And congratulations on your engagement!

Chris bickford caught moments in our wedding that we will forever cherish. He photographed my daughter trying to steal starfish from the reception table and the look on her face in pictures is priceless. He also got a candid picture of my husband kissing his mom on forehead and I love her smile. This photo is priceless as we can never get photos of her. When it came time to pick and choose which photos to print and hang on living room wall I wanted all of them. I can't say enough about how great Chris was as a photographer.Sent on 07/09/2020

Captured the spirit of us and our wedding day.
We absolutely loved everything about working with Chris. He has a very relaxed vibe but is as professional as they come. He was sure to capture what we wanted and many things we didn’t think of. The photos he created are stunning. Look beyond his wedding photographs to know he is very artistic and seems to capture the soul of his subjects. We could not be happier and you won’t regret hiring him!Sent on 02/02/2020
