My husband are so pleased with the Cathedral, and particularly Father Patrick. He is so wonderfully supportive and easy to get ahold of. The Cathedral is stunning, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a Catholic wedding venue in Richmond.

A breathtaking and meaningful place to get married. Their guides for marriage preparation, paperwork requirements, and planning the ceremony were all thorough and informative, making it easier to pull off a complicated process. We had a great experience meeting with the liturgy & music coordinator, Daniel. He guided us through selecting elements of the ceremony while also ensuring it was personalized. Our coordinator Marie was very organized for the rehearsal and day-of. There was an event at the nearby theater, and we were able to start 5 minutes late to accomodate guests still trying to find parking. Photos in the afternoon light at our 2 pm ceremony also turned out great!

Everyone we worked with at The Cathedral of the Sacred Heart was amazing, except for the Wedding Coordinator who was provided by the Cathedral for a required fee. I would highly recommend hiring your own Coordinator or having a family member facilitate the ceremony rather than the Cathedral's Coordinator. The ceremony began five minutes early and before my arrival and my mother's - despite the Coordinator being informed that we were running late (We arrived 3 minutes late). The Grandmother's and Mother-of-the-Groom were sent down the aisle, which left my mother walking down the aisle in silence upon our arrival (The lack of coordination also caused a ripple effect of other events that proceeded this error by the Coordinator's). The Cathedral is a beautiful ceremony site and I truly enjoyed everyone I worked with, however, the Coordinator placed a black cloud over this special day due to her actions. Due to the Coordinator's actions, I requested for the fee to be returned, and this request was never acknowledged. Through all of the expenses that are incurred for a wedding, it is truly worth hiring your own Coordinator at the Cathedral!
