Hotel Wedding Venues in Monterey

We had our wedding at CVR at the end of September, and couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful location. Our ceremony on the hilltop platform was beautiful. Harvest landing for the cocktail hour was a great spot as the sun set, and our reception in the lawn was exactly as we’d hoped. The food was very similar to our tasting day, and guests loved it. Thea was great to work with, and the staff all did a wonderful job. We look forward to returning for anniversaries. In all honesty, we weren’t sure at first of the Hyatt brand for a wedding venue, but it doesn’t feel corporate at all.

We had an amazing experience at the Tides! Kelly Frasier was a dream to work with, and just the sweetest ever. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and provided exceptional service, the location is beautiful, the food was AMAZING, and everything was perfect. Literally the best day ever!

One thing I really love about this venue is how much the location and building design speak for themselves. Many other venues have your reception in a large room that really is just a conference space. The ballroom at the Hyatt is beautiful with two huge fireplaces and a stunning view. You really don't need to worry too much about decor in a venue this gorgeous. The ceremony deck and its view are absolutely breathtaking. The bridal suite fit my bridal party of 8 and the makeup team perfectly. The only big issue with the venue is the amount of stairs. There is really no way to fully avoid stairs to the ceremony site and the rooms since the hotel was built in the early 1900s. They do have golf carts available for guest use but if you have folks in wheelchairs attending your wedding they may have some difficulty navigating the space. Our guests really enjoyed the food at the venue. We had the Argentinian skirt steak as one of our appetizers and multiple guests came up to me during the wedding to tell us that it was one of the best things they had eaten in a while. Others also really enjoyed the ahi poke appetizer. We truly had the most perfect wedding possible and it was largely in part to the two Emilys at the Hyatt Carmel Highlands Inn. They are absolute rockstars and I would 100% work with them again if I could.

Taylor and all the staff at Seascape were all so friendly and accommodating! We were the videographers for a wedding here and we loved it! The grounds were well kept and the staff treated us great! Would recommend!

The week of our Big Sur wedding, the venue was shut down due to the fires. We last minute contacted Lizzie at the Chaminade to see if they had any availability that same weekend (a holiday weekend too) and they somehow were available and willing to work with us to plan our wedding there week of. Lizzie quickly got us all our food/beverage options, sent us quotes and pricing, and worked with us to try to stay within budget. Lizzie was extremely communicative and helpful during this stressful week and immediately got on a call with our wedding planner to get things rolling. She was able to get us a room at the hotel that weekend, despite being completely booked. On the day of, Lizzie and the rest of the Chaminade staff made the transition seamless. Our guests were all amazed that it was not our original venue with how well everything came together. We are so grateful for the Chaminade and Lizzie for all they did to make our wedding so special.

Dream Inn My ideal venue criteria was specific- ocean view, outdoor ceremony with an option to pivot indoors, easy transition between the ceremony, cocktails, and dinner, delicious and plentiful food, doesn't look like a dank banquet room. We had a 75-person wedding with a beach ceremony, cocktail hour, buffet dinner, and dancing. I loved the idea of everything in one place, but was hesitant about a hotel banquet room wedding reception and banquet food. We got neither. It was gorgeous and intimate and people are still talking about the food. Staff- I have to start with Shelby and Briana. When I say these two women went above and beyond, that doesn't scratch the surface. From the first contact, through the endless pivots and quote adjustments, tours with my mom and best friend and me on video, to constant changes as the wedding evolved, they were gracious, responsive, and accommodating. They were proactive, honest, and worked seamlessly with all of my vendors. They were genuinely lovely to have as part of the lead up and day. Beach Ceremony- The ceremony was at the end of January, so we had no idea what the weather would be. We created a backup plan we didn't have to execute. In fact, Shelby and team provided last minute shade for a my guests in the unseasonably warm weather. The ceremony location is easy access from the hotel and valet parking was included for guests. Among the best parts was the seating provided on the pool deck that provided guests with mobility issues a perfect view of the wedding. Cocktail Hour- I was a bit worried about the cocktail hour feeling like it was in a parking lot, but no. It was intimate and lovely. We opted for a selection of passed appetizers and the charcuterie station. Guests were well-fed, even before dinner started. Reception- A wraparound view from the Boardwalk to West Cliff speaks for itself majorly reduces the need for decor. The lighting was warm and festive, not fluorescent and conferencey. We had ample space for our guests, dancing, and a big photo setup. The serving and bar staff was friendly and attentive. The food was incredible! We did the short rib and chicken option for dinner and churros and wings for a late night snack. While they don't do menu tastings, you can visit O'Neill's to taste many menu items and wine offerings, and get a feel for the food. Overall, I am beyond pleased. My family and friends still talk about how much they loved the wedding, the vibe, the food, the ease. It would not have been all that it was without the Dream Inn, Kelsey, and the staff.

We can't speak highly enough about our wedding reception at Carmel Valley Lodge! We searched for months for the perfect venue and got so lucky to get in touch with Candace. They are truly a hidden gem. We're not from the area, but it was a seamless planning process. There was so much flexibility in budget, vendors, and style. Our guests were impressed with the atmosphere, the mountain views, and the homey suites. I owe it all to Candace for being very responsive and an expert on the big day. She genuinely cared for our vision to come to life. We would do it all over again!

The Inn at Del Monte Beach is a fantastic place for a wedding reception. Many of our wedding guests stayed at the Inn, and were very impressed with the guest rooms. The rooftop patio is, in a word gorgeous, and is just the right size--big enough to accommodate 100 plus guests, but not so big that the space feels empty. We had use of the kitchen space and the staff were very helpful. Overall it was a great experience.

We were so pleased to have our wedding reception at the La Playa Hotel! What stood out to us the most was the professional event staff who were present, day of. We had a meal tasting before the wedding and that was fantastic and well organized. They even accommodated the groom ordering his potatoes (extra chunky) and the father of the bride requesting a special brand of sparkling water. They had a big box of the sparkling water and extra chunky potatoes ready to go on the wedding day! I also really loved that they allowed dogs, we had our sweet lab with us all day, he was our ring bearer and naturally he came with us to the reception space too. The La playa staff were so nice, they brought our dog a huge tray of leftover chicken meat at dinner time. He absolutely loved it! The quality of service here is what really stood out to us, we are very happy with choosing the La Playa for our reception space. We reserved the Pacific room and Terrance. We had about 50 guests. We used this space on a Sunday, only used it for a reception space and went with the cheapest meal option. Lemon Rosemary Chicken and Lobster Ravioli. We chose the soft bar only, and had guests purchase cocktails if desired at Buds. We also used house linens and the included table and glassware. Everything was of great quality! We were definitely not the highest paying customer, but we were treated so well and felt very happy with all of our service. The food is absolutely delicious too! A special thank you goes out to the service event staff, you guys were amazing! Thank you.
