Truly a special place! I could tell from first visiting even in the dead of winter that it was a beautiful, special location. The goats, ducks, chickens, friendly farm cat, serene scenery—I highly recommend.

Ballenger Farm was everything we wanted and more for our wedding weekend. Liz and her family are the most amazing, welcoming, and friendliest people ever! It was great to be able to stay at the farm for the entire weekend and made everything so easy. We hosted the rehearsal dinner in the courtyard and it was the perfect space. Our wedding day went so smoothly and we had so many compliments about how beautiful the space was. Our pictures under the ceremony tree and breathtaking. We will definitely be back to visit and we’ll never stop recommending Liz and the farm!

Ballenger Farm was a perfect place for our wedding, and we cannot recommend it highly enough! A relative prepared our rehearsal dinner in the farmhouse kitchen and we ate outside on the patio at sunset overlooking the farm, which was truly special. Our wedding day was unique and personalized, and our guests loved the farm and its different areas for sitting and catching up after months apart because of COVID. We were able to make full use of the pond, fire-pit, patio, porch, and lawn throughout the day and well into the evening. It was also fantastic to be able to stay at the farmhouse during our wedding. Rather than be surrounded by all of our guests in a hotel, we had a secluded quiet calm space at the venue itself. We hosted several out-of-town members of our wedding party there too, which reduced their hotel costs and gave us an opportunity to spend quality time with them during the weekend. Most importantly, Liz and her father were beyond helpful and accommodating, and we cannot say enough thank yous to the both of them. Liz offered to let us deliver our wedding desserts from out of town to her home, and was completely available to us throughout the wedding day. Her dad went out of his way to help us as well, and spent hours with us after the wedding discussing the farm. They both went above and beyond to make sure we had the best possible wedding day, including mowing a path into the goat pen for us to go inside during the ceremony and take some truly unique wedding photos with them. We were sad to leave the next morning, but look forward to returning for many wedding anniversary weekends in the years to come!

Ballenger Farm made all of our wedding dreams come true. The space is gorgeous, flexible and authentic. The animals are so so charming. I spent the morning of the wedding with a glass of champagne in one hand and the barn cat on my lap. Liz was a great communicator, so friendly and eager to offer suggestions. I can't imagine having gotten married anywhere else. It was romantic, beautiful, and rustic. I felt like our Jane Austen meets Virginia dreams came true.

Ballenger was the perfect location for our small wedding. Truly, I cannot say enough good things about it. It's conveniently located (you can get to the grocery store in 5 minutes if, say, you realize you forgot to get paper plates for all your wedding guests...) but it feels totally removed and magical. Our guests couldn't stop raving about how pretty the farm was. The house is decorated with all sorts of charming touches, the goats/chickens/cats wandering around are adorable, and Liz is such an amazing venue owner. She was incredibly responsive and kind and I want to be her friend (so Liz, uh, call me?). If you're thinking of booking something here, JUST DO IT.

My fiance and I took advantage of the intimate weddings trend this year and opted for a ceremony with only our immediate family. The Ballenger Farm was affordable for a Thursday wedding, and Liz (the owner) was always helpful and responsive to the multitude of emails I sent asking random questions throughout the planning process. The property has multiple outdoor options for the ceremony, all of which are lovely and perfect for small parties. The space could also be tented for a larger wedding. The highlight for us was the courtyard, which we used for the reception. Covered/indoor space in case of rain is limited, but there is a small covered barn that we ended up using (it does have gravel flooring). Overall, it was a wonderful experience.

This farm is perfect for a small wedding! Liz was very helpful with everything, very responsive. The house is beautiful!!

My husband and I had last minute venue change and I literally had 2 months to find a place, and with a last minute cancellation this place was available. Liz and her parents were so kind and the animals were just a great touch. I loved this place after looking at the pictures and doing the walk made my decision a lot easier. My wedding was perfect. The house was so cute and everything about it was perfect. Anything I needed they were there to help and made my wedding day spectacular. My family and I got to enjoy this wonderful venue. The kids loved playing with the goats and chicken and the few baby chicks. I would definitely recommend this place 100%.

Our experience at Ballenger Farm, and working with Liz, was nothing short of amazing for our intimate elopement! When our original wedding was postponed due to COVID, we decided we wanted to move forward with eloping on our original date. The house and getting ready spaces were charming and full of the home's original character. We married in the incredibly romantic courtyard full of wildflowers, it pretty much felt like our own secret garden dream tucked into a perfect farm landscape. Liz was so sweet to work with, she added so much happiness to our day, and we are so thankful for her help in making our elopement the best day we could have imagined!

Ballenger Farms was an absolute dream! We loved every second of our wedding. Elizabeth and her family are amazing to work with; so flexible, accommodating, fun, and positive! The venue is beautiful and speaks for itself. It is quiet, serene, and the animals are so friendly!

We had the best time with no issues whatsoever with this event/venue. I recommend them 100000%!
