As WeddingWire’s Real Weddings Editor, I was a Type A bride during the majority of my wedding planning process. Did I really just admit that? I know there is nothing wrong with being obsessive-compulsive, because sometimes it is a skill worth sharing! Find out firsthand everything I experienced:

1. I created a new email address because I did not want to cram my personal or work email addresses.

2. I printed out every vendor contract so I could have a hard copy on hand.

3. And stuffed them into a three-ring binder in sheet protectors.

4. I added all my vendors’ phone numbers on speed dial in case of a crisis.

5. I received a push notification on my iPad every time a bridesmaid added a photo to my secret Pinterest board.

6. I noted in my Vera Bradley planner (and maybe even my wall calendar) when first and final deposits were due.

7. I used WeddingWire’s FREE checklist tool, and added to-dos to a Google document until the week before the wedding.

8. I used WeddingWire’s FREE seating chart tool to design a floor plan, and bought a poster to put page markers on.

9. I used WeddingWire’s FREE guest list tool to keep track of RSVPs, and tracked them in a Google spreadsheet as backup.

10. I created separate Google spreadsheet tabs for the wedding, engagement party, bridal shower, and bachelorette party.

11. I color-coded my guests by sides of the family (i.e. his or hers) and friend categories (i.e. elementary, middle, high school, and college).

12. Each guest had three accompanying columns: one for their address, one for the gift they gave, and one whether I had written a thank-you note.

13. I excessively checked my registries to see if anything was sold out.

14. After the bridal shower, I could NOT stand the sight of another box. Once opened, it was then thrown into the recycling bin.

15. My RSVP cards were alphabetized the moment they came back in the mail.

16. I read the Old Farmer’s Almanac’s long-range weather predictions as well as watched The Weather Channel's Local on the 8s a lot.

17. I asked my stationer to only use the bombshell pro font on the invitation suite.

18. I made a mock tablescape until it was a masterpiece worth showing my event planner how to set up.

19. I told my floral designer all the flowers I wanted by their exact names such as garden roses, ranunculuses, succulents, and seeded eucalyptus.

20. I made my fiance listen to Spotify’s top 40 hit list at work, so we could rate songs (1 being the highest and 3 being the lowest) and then calculate an average before sending over songs to our DJ.
