Okay Ladies...NEED some ideas HELP!!!!

I have 8 cylinder vases. We are going to put floating candles in them. We are getting married Oct 10. I need an idea for something to put in the water for a visual element, other than the candles. We are getting married at 3pm outside so the candles aren't really going to be that noticable. We are lining the short walk with them. Any ideas are welcome. Thanks.

What about suspending some silk fall leaves? Just attach them to a fishing line, weigh it down on the bottom and make sure it floats on the top or is attached to the candle, then fill it with water. Test it first, though, to make sure the colors won't bleed and tint the water!

I have seen color dye put in them which looks nice, flowers or since it is Oct. maybe some fall leaves for color and depth.

What about adding some color sand to the vases?
You could layer your wedding colors in each vase, or one color in a vase and alternate...
It'll add color and I don't think it would be too expensive.

Another pretty option is to cover the bottom of the vase with stones or crystals and put a single silk flower in the bottom of the vase. You will have to cut the stem off and possibly weight the bloom to keep it from floating. You can do this with a dab of hot glue and a small metal nut from the hardware store.

Hello Gershelda,
*Get branches with to submerge, then attach embellishments (silk flowers, beads, faux jewels) to the branches.
*Fall themed / colored produce: pomegranates, tangerines, baby crab apples, unripe pears (Don't mix them - choose one for each vase)
*Glass pebbles (from craft store - clear or in your wedding colors) to cover the first 2-3 inches of the base, then one perfect rose or other bloom, tethered to the bottom with fishing line
*Check out one of my favorite florist's website's for more inspiration: www.amyburkedesigns.com
Anything you decide to do will be beautiful! Good luck!
Be Well,

I'm using clear and colored glass stones in my centerpieces and they look great! Marbles are another option, but the stones are easier to work with since they have a flat bottom. You can get them at any craft store, or in the craft area at Walmart. The best part is that they are pretty inexpensive too, I paid $5 for about 100 of them.

here's what I did with glass cylinders. I had floating candles in them. It was a really cheap afterthought for some smaller tables I had and they ended up being one of my favorite decor elements! Just some ribbon and fabric glue for the ends.

Congrats! A single orchid stem (try the orange cymbidium for color)is an elegant way to add texture and color. Since you only need 1 per container, the cost stays under control. You can also use tree branches (make sure to weight them down) and wire with pressed or paper leaves, or even oragami doves. Good luck!

I am getting married in November and we are having a few cylinder vases with the same kind of look and we are going to have cranberries floating in the vase to bring in some color.

I love the idea of the suspened leaves and you could also add a beta fish in them.

Laura: Love the vases! I think we are either gonna go with putting cranberries half way up with tree branches and the candle with a pumpkin beside it(small pumpkin) OR just the cranberries and a candle with a pumpkin. My colors are red, white, purple, and black. We had geared the colors for a christmas wedding, but moved it up to Oct. The colors will be okay, I think, if we add more "fall" colors? Like pumpkins? On the fountain, we are gonna put small votive candles with tiny pumpkins in between them. Moving the wedding up 2 months AND after I had geared EVERYTHING towards a Christmas wedding has cause a bit of stress...lol. But I think I can pull it off. Thanks ladies for the suggestions.

Pumpkin Carvings! This site has some templates you can download for free.
There are even some letter sets that you could add to the pumpkin like your names, etc.

Augustbride: We LOVE the idea of carving the pumpkins...we are thinking about getting bigger pumpkins and carving our first initinals with a small heart between them. That will be so cool! Love it thanks
