I have a father of the bride problem...help

my dad wil not be at my wedding. it will be his very sad choice. but it is his to make...long story. there is a chance he will come around in time but either way it is my day and i will enjoy it dang it lol so here is my problem. my uncle will be performing our ceremony. his idea is for me to have all of my uncles dance with me. they have all played a part in raising me.so instead of a father daughter dance have them take turns. so i need a song that has that kind of feeling or meaning. i dont know any ideas?

I hope your father smartens up and attends his daughters wedding. What is up with some parents these days!??? If my father lost both legs and arms he would crawl 100 miles to attend my wedding.

I think the song I used for my dad would be perfect for you. Its "you've got a friend" I think it fits well for those people who didnt have the person in their lives that should have been there for them, and they had to "call out for a friend". I also used that song for my father/daughter dance. It sounds like it is perfect. Great suggestion Celticchick!

I used the song because my father recorded him singing it at a fair while overseas for the navy when my sister and I were very young. We distroyed the tape we played it so much, but I feel that song fits soooo many people in soooo many ways.

My dad will not be at mine either and I won't pressure him to. He could be there if he wanted to but I guess he doesn't realize how important and special this day is for me. I was going to have "Wind Beneath my Wings" for my father/daughter dance by Gladys Knight & the Pips but of course their are other versions by other artist. Always thought it was fitting for anyone who has been there for you, throughout your life.

I'm glad you asked this question! I have never met my father, so I'm having my Uncle walk me down the isle. He has no kids and I have no dad so we kinda filled that spot for each other. I want to have a dance with him too since he's been such a great person. I was thinking about doing Sweet Child O Mine by Guns n Roses. He's a total 80s rock guy and I think he'd like that...but at the same time...I'm not his kid. I don't know, I've never wanted to fully fill the father spot because I've left a little room for my biological dad if he ever decided he wanted to meet me. Gahh dads!

thank you. those are great ideas. keep them coming. ... i love my dad and always will. i hope he comes around. i wrote a letter to him and put it all on the table and havent heard frm him since so i am hoping it gave him a slap of reality. i miss him as my dad. but i am beyond happy about getting married. i love my fiance more then anything. he is loving and supportive and I am being blessed with having him in my life and love me for the rest of our lives. ...my uncles are amazing. they have stepped up when needed. so i think its perfect to dance with them. but i also need one long enough. i dont want to be playing song after song lol man so many things to decide lol

im in the same boat..my dad is sittin on the fence about coming..no one is sure if he will be there! i was gonna say blessed by christina aguilera. or because you loved me by celine dion! but someone already said that one..lol! good luck tho :)
