I was in love with The Admiral when I first saw it!! It was a great place to have my wedding outdoor and indoor. When the wedding came and everything was put together it was even more beautiful. It was perfect at sunset to take pictures and the docks!!The great thing about this place was that you can bring in your own alcohol and food.The mananger and her team was a great help throught out the whole process. Thank you!!!

We had our wedding there this year, and everything was great until the day of. When we first got there the dance floor and bar were sticky. Our feet stuck to the dance floor walking around. My aunt had to mop the floor before the ceremony. The tv that they have by the dance floor that they tell you that you can play a slide of pictures with a sim card, we couldn't get to work because come to find out you need a remote to start it. (We later find out that we had to tell them that we wanted to use it, but I assumed since you are paying for it and it's apart of the basic package, then they should assume that you are using it and leave the remote in a location that can be put back at the end of the night). Well lets say you do have problems like we were having, forget calling that emergency number because nothing will happen. Leave a message, no one calls back, nothing gets done. The other major problem we had is we rented the china from them and part of the deal is that you have to rinse them and stack them back up. Well better bring your hot water with you, because they don't provide that either to get that done! Since my caterer had to go and couldn't finish it, my dad spent 2 hours at the end of the night scrubbing all the china so that he could get his safety deposit back.

So the pros are that for the most part the staff is understanding. They say that they are refunding our $500 plus more for the hassle. I got the final invoice that shows what we are being refunded, I hope we actually get it back seeing that past reviewers had problems.

You really can't beat the view at this location. It's absolutly breath taking.

The facility was great, there was many mistakes though I did order 25 linens, and only recieved 23, i also ordered a linen for perhaps a very important table which held the unity candle, but that wasnt there either, i had to find a cheap un elegant plastic linen to cover it up, the centerpices were great, i was missing one arrangement, i believe i paid too much for the service i received, but other than that, the room was great, the view is excellent, they did respond quick to my emails though, i did set my rehersal date when they said i would so i know that they are people of their word kinda.

I do NOT recommend this venue to anyone. My husband and I got married ther because it was a beautiful view and affordable. We did catering through them, linens through them, Everything through them. The night of they forgot our Caesar salad for the buffet (which we paid for and was very important because that's the only salad my husband likes) and told my my an excuse then gave me a completely different excuse when I confronted them about it. Then, almost 8 months later we has still not received our deposit back for security and damages. We phoned them a million times and got either a disconnected message or no return call whatsoever. We emailed them with no reply. We even sent them a letter of demand from a lawyer. Not until 8 months after our wedding did they FINALLY reply and not until weeks after that did we get our money returned. Very unprofessional and childish. If you want a hassle free and enjoyable wedding, wed somewhere else.

Over all very good venue for the price right on clear lake. Made me wedding perfect. Only thing was venue was kind of nasty when we went to set up for wedding also if you want to rent things try somewhere else they are pretty price for that kind of thing. I bought alot of stuff cheaper then i could rent them for. But overall was good!

The Admiral is a gorgeous waterfront venue!! It was perfect for our wedding! The Admiral is not always available for immeditate phone calls, you mostly leave a voicemail and wait for a call back the next day or so. Danielle was very very very nice and helpful throught my whole experience with The Admiral! Thank you, Danielle!

I had my wedding at the Admiral earlier this year. They only good thing about this venue is the actual venue. The people who work for and own the venue do nothing except take your money. I had ordered linens and on the day of my wedding they had forgotten a couple of the ruunners. They never even took them out of the plastic packaging. Since it was my wedding day I didn't even notice till the next day. I also was supposed to use the arch they have on the premisis but when we showed up on my day the arch was nowhere to be found, and that "emergency contact number" was of no help. The biggest issue I had was thet they did not refund my deposit. After months of phone calls and e-mails I had to finally threaten to file criminal charges against them before they took me seriously enough to give me back my deposit money.

Okay, I was hoping to give this place a better review than I'm about to give. I guess I'm just letting out my frustration from the phone calls that haven't been returned and the lies that have been told to me. I paid over $8,000 to have my wedding here. $5500 for the facility from 10am-2am and $2,544.86 for linens. Good things first: The facility is breathe-taking. I fell in love with it and it was the first one we looked at. The staff is pretty prompt with responding to any questions (before the wedding) but you better think of anything and everything that you want to know. Whatever is on the website is all they provide as far as info unless you ask. A few days before my wedding I was like "Oh crap, who opens and closes the facility since there's no staff on the property the day of?" So I had to ask. The morning of my wedding I went to check it out to see the linens and one part of the room was warm. I thought maybe because the doors were open for a little while to unload my decorations and drinks. Well after my ceremony and pics, I walked around the room to greet each table and oh my goodness, I was SWEATING on that same side of the room. I started panicing because I knew my guests were uncomfortable. My husband and best friend kept trying to lower the thermastat and nothing! The officer went to the main breaker and tried and NOTHING! Ehhhh, I just had to have a few drinks and forget about it and not let it ruin my night. Now listen up, they have a 24 hour number posted in a couple of places in the facility for any issues. Did the bride or groom think of that??? Well with everything else going on that day, how could we let that slip. Well maybe if a staff member would have at least mentioned, "hey, if there's anything at all you need, please don't hesitate to call that number posted on the wall," maybe we would have been like, "oh yeah, the staff said there's a number we can call." Sorry, we didn't think about it!! The next negative thing I have to say is that The Admiral states that you will receive your deposit ($500) 30 business days after your event. It's been 53 business days plus emails and phone calls and still no deposit in my mailbox. They stopped returning my calls and I'm obviously frustrated that they don't even have an excuse or apology for the delay. I paid this place a lot of money without any delays and for some reason they have an issue giving me a deposit back. Oh and if maybe the thought crosses your mind that we didn't clean up or there was some kind of damage...I sat at a table and finished my drink and watched my family and friends work their butts off to clean this place and go through and make sure it was good to go before we left. Don't you think if it were something of that nature they would have told me already?? It's so frustrating when you follow through with your end of a contract and yet the receiving end doesn't do the same. So if you're thinking of having your event here, it is beautiful and roomy but don't expect a whole lot as far as customer service. Take your time and look at all of your options. Good customer service goes a long way! Bad customer service gets bad reviews and makes people think twice about using the business!

The staff was awesome and the view was unbelieveable, i would defintly recommend this venue to anyone looking to have their special event at a wonderful place.

Difficult To Try To Set Up A Rehearsal The Day Before My Wedding . . . I Wasn't Able To Set A Rehearsal Time Until 5 Days Before My Wedding . . . Other Problems Were Being Accessible . . . Being That This Day Is About You When Problems Do Arise & You Have Questions . . . It Will Likely Be 48 To 72 Hours Before Anyone Contacts You Back (You May As Well Just Keep Calling Until You Get Someone & Not The Voice Mail) . . . The Biggest Issue That I Am Having Is That My Wedding Has Ben Over More Than A Month Now, 2 Months In A Few Days. The Large Deposit Made To Secure The Venue Was Supposed To Be Refunded To Me Within 30 Days . . . Still No Deposit Has Been Refunded . . . I've Called Many Times & They Keep Telling Me It Is In The Mail, But For Some Odd Reason If You Drop A Letter In The Mail 1 Day In Houston; You Should Receive It The Next Day . . . Still Waiting, Many Days & Counting . . . Naw, They Didn't Lie To Me Or Did They . . . Maybe They Just Keep Forgetting To Drop It In The Mail Every Time I Call To See Where It Is At . . . Still Waiting

Not recommended... It was 2 years ago when we got married at The Admiral, since they were so over priced on everything they offered we brought our own except the catering which we got thru them... we asked them for projector for a slide show, microphone, and we will use the venue sound equipment for the ceremony and cocktail hour, until the music hired came, well the microphone DID NOT WORK at all, can't barely hear the Preacher and our vows on video even, no one of our guests heard the ceremony... next: the sound system DID NOT WORK!!! my Father in Law and Brother In Law were messing with cables and cords right there in the middle of the event, also we were streaming internet radio already set with a playlist, etc and they gave WI-fi passwords to connect to the internet well, DID NOT WORK either... next: the food was worse than cheapest cafeteria, very different than what we tried in the food tasting, they were short in staff and they DID NOT REIMBURSE... The responsiveness is good till the day of, then they magically disappear... The projector once it worked it was too dark, with all those windows facing the sunset it was pointless to have that slide show, the deposit, I don't even know if we got it back, I let my husband check as I was just ready to forget about that whole experience with the venue... overall disappointed.

pros: You can use your own outside vendors for your event or use their in-house service (most places make you use their in-house services). Their in-house service (icatching events) can sure decorate a room beautifully! The facility is beautiful and a great room to host an event.

cons: The admiral's in-house service for wedding planning was not worth the money. My fiance and I did most of the planning and found other vendors (cake, DJ) ourselves. It seems all they did was decorate the room. They let a lot of things fall through the cracks on our wedding day, things that I feel a wedding planner should have been on top of beforehand. Also, they were not very friendly, as family and friends commented after our wedding rehearsal and during our reception. Plus, at the end of the evening, they packed our decorations up and set them outside in a very unorganized pile of boxes. The workers brought it all downstairs and stuff ended up in so many different vehicles that it took days to try and locate everything.

If you really don't want to be involved in planning your own wedding, then they would probably be okay to use. (They didn't seem too happy to have to use decoration that we had already purchased, nor did they seem too interested in my ideas for my own wedding!) But again, the facility is very nice and a lovely place to hold an event...

This was a great place to hold a reception. The view was gorgeous and there was plenty of room for our 200+ guests. The side room is great for the buffet and for children to sit/hang out. We had our wedding on Monday so that drastically reduced the price. I would absolutely recommend this venue for a weekday wedding. Saturday gets very expensive and it wouldn't be worth it for me at least. The staff was very friendly and works with their clients well.
