Greg, Brandi, and Juli from Schrader Photography are simply the best. I went to a January bridal show with 2 things in mind... talk to my dress girl and to talk to the ceremony/reception site people. I was having my wedding on Mackinac Island and I had in my mind that I would just book with vendors that were from up north. And then I walked by Schrader Photography's booth and saw the amazing pictures. They took my breath away and made me stop right in my tracks. I spoke with Greg and Brandi, and was immediately drawn in again by their outgoing personalities. Greg was full of energy and that was right up my alley. After talking for a while, my mom and I walked away needing to talk by ourselves for a minute, but I had to rush back to make sure he hadn't booked my date! I don't usually make snap decisions, and we booked on the spot!

From that moment on, I felt like I was the only client that they had and each and every one of my questions, concerns, and ideas was addressed immediately. We did an engagement shoot in the early spring. My fiance and I were unsure of how it was going to go, having never done anything like that before, but we were put at ease at once by Greg, Brandi, and Juli, making sure we were comfortable and felt beyond special. It was a wonderful morning and our pictures were amazing. (By the way we got our proofs very quickly... especially compared to my other friends whose photographers take many months to get their pictures to them!)

On to our wedding day... ... it RAINED all day long... AND we wanted to shoot all over outdoors on Mackinac Island- I was thinking that we would have to change plans because of the photo equipment, but NO! Greg, Brandi, and Juli couldn't wait to shoot outside and I know it had to be tricky keeping the camera dry, but there was NEVER any complaints from Schrader Photography or did I ever feel like I was "making" him take our pictures. They captured the BEST moments from our whole day! Me getting ready, "bride" shots, seeing my dad for the first time, my groom and I meeting for the first time, shots with our wedding party, family, and EVERY shot AND more than I could imagine. (I even have a niece that NO ONE can get to smile for a picture and he captured THE BEST photos of her with huge smiles!)

They made us feel calm when our nerves were getting to us, carried supplies, fixed hair, jewelry, helped kept my dress CLEAN, (which isn't easy on a wet, poopy:) Mackinac Island), and made us feel like ROYALTY the WHOLE day!!

I think my girlfriend said it best: "I wish THEY were my photographers... all my photographer did was TAKE PICTURES!"

You should definitely choose Schrader Photography. They DO Photograph Like Rockstars!

I first met Greg Schrader at a Bridal Show, and fell in love with the pictures he took. I went home that day, and their pictures were all I could think of. They were beautiful, and different. Not your run of the mill, wedding party stands in a line pictures. I still had lots of time until my wedding at that point, so continued to look. Eventually my mom and I took a trip up to visit Greg and Brandi at their studio. Greg's enthusiasm was contagious, and he brought tears to my mom's eyes just by explaining how he would set up special events for us to take pictures of (my husband and I wanted to take most of our pictures BEFORE the ceremony). We decided to book with him, and closer to the wedding had another consultation meeting with him, where we again went over our package, created a time line for the day, and began a list of certain pictures we had to take.

On the day of the wedding Greg, Brandi, and Juli were AMAZING! It rained all morning, yet Greg managed to come up with creative ways for us to still get amazing pictures - including some of me and my bridesmaids with umbrellas! They were friendly and helpful, willing to hold items, and fetch water, and even make sure I got something to eat when I needed it. They made sure we had all the pictures we wanted before they ever thought of leaving, and stayed right up until the end of the reception to get a big group shot of everyone.

My proofs were all up quickly after the wedding. They had provided every guest with cards containing the online access code, so I did not have to continually inform guests as to how to access my pictures. This is where the fantastic service seemed to come to an end.

Greg had promised me my (already paid for) 10x10 album within 4 months of the wedding. He finally got the proofs up for my album well after the 7 month mark. He sent me this thrilled email about how he loved my pictures, and couldn't stop creating slides for the album, and made 32 instead of 24, and I could get these extra 8 slides at a HUGE discount, etc. I got online to look at the proofs, and fully 18 of these "slides" (that during our discussions he had told me would be mostly collages of several pictures per slide) were 1 picture blown up to 10x10 size... It was as though they had received their money and had then given up on keeping me happy. I had started asking frequently about my album, so it seemed like Greg just threw something together to keep me happy. When I asked about it just prior to the 7 month mark, he returned my email by telling me he was going to be OUT OF TOWN, and would probably have it done two weeks AFTER HE GOT BACK. Seeing as the album was already passed due that had already upset me, then to find that he, for the most part, just blew up 1 picture I was simply not impressed. I ended up going threw pictures with just my mom and husband's help, and telling Greg what to put on each slide. After that it only took him 2 days to put those new proofs online...

Greg is also on facebook, and prior to my wedding we had "friended" each other. Since this fiasco with my album he has since "unfriended" me, which is not particularly professional. And in the months since my wedding he has hit on my maid of honor through facebook as well.


Greg is high energy and contagious. He takes beautiful pictures, but be leery. His "post wedding" service was untimely. I constantly had to contact them to ask about how things were progressing, rather than them keeping me updated. And his professionalism post wedding was abysmal.

I'm not photogenic and I hate getting my picture taken. I was specifically looking for a photographer who could bring something out of me that was photogenic and Greg did a fantastic job. He took the time to get to know me and my fiance before the wedding to see what we're like and what makes us smile or laugh. My wedding pictures range from classic and sophisticated to fun-loving and flirty to downright sexy! I had a hard time narrowing them down for the photo album. Not only were the pictures top notch, but Greg and his wife, Brandy, added to the experience of my special day. He was sensitive about family members. He even made sure my maid of honor (who was 7 months pregnant) had water to drink periodically, food to snack on, and chances to sit down as much as possible during our photo sessions.

I was also looking for a photographer with his/her own ideas for our wedding photos around town (because I had no clue - but still wanted great pictures). Greg found spots downtown that were amazing, that I'd never noticed before. With all of the work that comes with planning a wedding, this was the easy part, because Greg did all of the work.

I shopped around quite a bit for photographers (and went to more bridal shows than I care to recall). I believe Greg provides the best overall value for his prices.

I look forward to using him in the future as we create a family. Did I mention he's great with kids too??

Greg is an amazing photographer. He is very creative, energetic and talented. We love our wedding pictures because they are more than just photos taken at our wedding. Greg was able to capture all of the moments that we cherish from our day and turn them into works of art that we are proud to show off to everyone. We have received so many compliments on our photos and have had couples that attended our wedding tell us that they loved our photographers so much that they plan on having them do their weddings as well. The best thing about the photographers at Schrader Photography is that they make you feel so comfortable throughout the entire day. When I arrived at the church in the morning, they even were there to greet me with umbrellas so that my hair would not be ruined by the rain. They always were able to make me, my husband, and anyone else around smile real smiles, and laugh real laughs. Greg and Sara were with us throughout our entire day. They were there early in the morning at the church and did not leave until the reception was nearly over. When we said goodbye to them at the end of the night, it was like saying goodbye to friends. Saying thank you just did not seem like enough. We were so grateful to have them and we give Schrader Photography our highest recommendation and encourage everyone to check them out.

For those on a tight budget- My husband and I paid for the wedding ourselves which required us to cut some corners here and there to make it. Early on we decided that photography would be the one place that we would not cut corners because we knew that the photos from our day would be ours to keep forever and we wanted only the best. After shopping around we found that although Schrader is not the most inexpensive photographer out there, he does have the best value. His photos are original, timeless and even breathtaking and because his prices are very reasonable, it was actually very easy to fit him within our budget. We believe choosing Schrader as our photographer was the best decision we could have made! Our day would not have been the same without them and we will cherish our photos forever!

Greg is all kinds of fabulous. My wedding was back in October of 2008, and it was an absolute privilege having him a part of our special day. Myself and my entire family were so impressed with him, his work, and how genuine and personable he is. He made me feel like the only bride in the world that day! Several family members have since used him for senior pictures and other types of shoots, and a couple in our bridal party used him for their own wedding. I just had a session with him for my 2 children a few days ago, and he was just as involved and energetic as I remember at my wedding.

Greg is an exceptional photographer who captured all the amazing memories that happened on my day. Once I met Greg, I could feel the passion that he has with his job. He was so easy to work with and I have recieved amazing photos from my day. Not only do I love the photos, but I have also recieved countless compliments on the beauty of them. Greg is extremely professional and worked very hard to ensure that I had the perfect memories from my day. I highly recommend him to all of my friends searching for a photographer, and so I can also highy recommend him to you.

Schrader Photography is one of the only places that I would ever go again for my wedding pictures. On my wedding day, I did get sick at my reception, and Greg and his wonderful staff took care of the whole situation and exceptional care of me. Greg made sure that I was okay and he even took pictures in the other room, where I was sitting with my new husband, took pictures of me and him with our first dance together as husband and wife.
Before the wedding, I wanted the pictures taken before and he was so easy going and they let me pick out what pictures I wanted to do and when I was getting too hot and feeling a little bit under the weather, he sat me down and got me something to drink and something to eat. When ever I needed something or needed to take a break from the pictures he made it happen. Greg and his staff made the day all about me and I would of never wanted anyone else but him to do the pictures for me.
I also have a divorced family and do not get along with my real dad and my step-mom, he made sure that nothing went wrong with them and me because it was my special day and he wanted it to be perfect. Another big thing for me was that my step-grandma is in a wheelchair and he did a really cool picture with us all bending down around her to make it look like we were getting in really close to her because she was not able to get up.
Greg and his staff were so professional that and easy going and so much fun to work with on my wedding day. I don't like pictures very well and he always had me stick out my hip and place my foot to the front, but then I would always stick out my tounge because I never want my picture taken. He did get some pictures of me doing that and before you knew it, he would stick out his tounge back out at me and that would make me smile and then he would take a picture of that.
Just knowing that he would be there for me and knowing that he would get pictures of everything going on, at both the wedding ceremony and the reception, he got right into the dances and all of the pictures that he got were of the family members being themselves. Acting all goofy and everything like they normally are.

They are a big part of the reason my wedding was amazing. I recieved so many compliments from guests at the wedding about how good my photographers were. I can definately say that I felt like a princess for a day, and that is not easy to do, since I am not the girliest girl.

I would recommend Schrader Photography to anyone! I was dreading the selection of a photographer because my fiance hates getting his picture taken. We had met with one other photographer that we liked but didn't really click with personally. Then we met with Greg Schrader and knew instantly we would choose him! Greg, his wife and assistant Sara were so wonderful with the entire wedding party and everyone thought they were so fun. I absolutely love my pictures and the creative wedding album that Greg put together. I get nothing but compliments on Greg's work!
