I could not believe how wonderful our cake looked. We actually had a phone call from our cake maker early the morning of our wedding. We had left her silk yellow flower petals to put on the cake but it turns out it was soaking up moisture from the cake and it did not look good. So instead of going through with our obviously flawed design, she called and asked if she could get yellow spray roses and daisies from their flower department to cover the cake instead. The fact that she took that initiative (and did not charge us for the additions) was incredible. The result was an eye-catching and gorgeous cake that tasted even better than it looked. On top of that, we got an incredible deal on the 3-tier cake plus 2 1/2 sheets of cake at just about 300 dollars. She was an incredible help and a wonderful designer. I was a little apprehensive about going to a grocery store for our wedding cake but it turned out to be an affordable and wonderful decision. I would highly recommend the ladies at the Marshall Hyvee's bakery. They will work with you, listen to whatever requests you might have, and make your ideas work if at all possible. You will not be disappointed.
