Hyvee Barlow Bakery in Rochester, Minnesota made the perfect wedding cake for our reception. They were very willing to make any cake for us, even those with very complex designs. They listened to our requests for flavors and frostings. They even gave us three 1/4 sheet cakes for sampling. No little slices to sample here! We got whole cakes!

Denny, the head baker, did an amazing job following through with the design we picked and baking and decorating the cake. It was delivered to the venue on time and looked perfect. It tasted delicious too. Our guests loved the chocolate cake with whipped orange buttercream filling and chocolate ganache frosting.

I can't wait to eat the last slice on our 1 year anniversary.

There were many styles of cakes to choose from, all that was required was one month notice if there were to be any special pieces to put on the cake. Since I ordered my flowers from the same store, it saved some money to use real flowers on the cake (roses). The end effect was beautiful and still very moist and tasty!

My cake was great. The only thing that went wrong was they forgot my topper and my reception was in a town 20 minutes away. They did bring it when I called but it was a bummer not to get pictures with it on before the photographer left.

Staff was very knowledgable and was flexible for meeting times and drop off. We did cupcakes for our guests and were able to take samples home on mulitple occasions so we could test colors and flavors. We did to faux levels and a top tier of real cake for our cake the cake was appropriately priced for the quality. One down spot was the ribbon on the cake soaked in the frosting and changed colors which did not match the remaining decor but otherwise was beautiful. Items were fresh, worked for our budget and we would recommend them again. Just be very clear on what you want.
