Love this little shop located in the quaint town of Occoquan, Va. Being a native of the area, this shop has been in business for a number of years. I personally had never shopped there since I never had a reason to, but I did once it came to ordering my wedding invitations. I highly recommend them as they are fairly priced, responsive to your time schedule and very knowledgeable! Any kind of question I had from how to properly address my guests to the wording on my invitations, they had the answers to it all. With access to the internet it seems you can do anything yourself; however, when it comes to ordering invitations, I totally recommend ordering through the experts if you want to have them done right. Had I ordered them on my own, I can assure you I would have messed something up and had to re-order them. I found Hawtorne House on the Wedding Wire...what a GREAT find. They were able to find the invitation motif that we wanted and was able to duplicate the motif with our programs and menus. Our table # cards were a big hit since we did our favorite football players as table numbers. The cards actually looked liked the numbers on a players jersey and the guest loved them as well as we did. I will use them again for sure!

I used Hawthorne for my invitations and was thrilled with the end product. After pricing several other stores in the greater DC area, I can say that Hawthorne was a better value and honestly, they were far more helpful with creating my vision while staying within a budget. The proof was perfect and the invitations were delivered ahead of schedule. They were also a great help to my mom...who knows how many etiquette questions they answered for her while she was addressing the invitations. They are worth the trip!!

My fiance and I loved Hawthorne House! They had an amazing selection. Can make anything you want in house and you can have one of the kind, personalized invitations and they were so helpful. I have found that one of the hardest parts about weddings is addressing the invitations and even though we had the company do it officially for us, we still have to everything ready for them and the staff at Hawthorne House went through our entire guest list several times to make sure we had everything correct! I have already been recommending them to friends! They're amazing!

Hawthorne House was, by far, the best vendor I worked with for planning my wedding. Absolutely incredible professionals, with a shop that's very homey and relaxed. They are more than kind --- just the sweetest people, like family! They got my order exactly right, addressed my envelopes weeks ahead of schedule, and answered all of my questions with lightning speed. There is a good range of prices and we found lovely, very affordable invitations. They even added a pearly backing to my selection because I wanted a little extra shimmer. I wouldn't go with anyone else and recommend them to every bride!!!! Wonderful husband and wife team who actually care about brides and want them to be happy. The entire staff of Hawthorne House was wonderful and provided the ultimate in service and patience. My wedding was September 18 and they were able to complete my order to include calligraphy of place cards, menu cards, wedding invitations, rehearsal invitations, table numbers and programs with no errors. Even with 2 days left before the wedding, the staff completed my place cards and programs in an effortless manner. Each member of the staff was professional and provided excellent advice on the wording or what should be changed to ensure I obtained the look I wanted. I would highly recommend Hawthorne House for your wedding needs.

The staff at Hawthorne House - Nancy, Diane, and Fred were wonderful to both my Mom and I throughout the entire stationary and invitation process. Not only did they spend countless hours with us to understand our hopes and wishes when it came to the invitation, but their experience and expertise were invaluable when designing and sending the invitation. They worked within our budget, always aware of it and striving to design the most elegant and beautiful piece within it - yet always being clear about where we could make decisions that would have an impact on the prices. Nancy and Diane offered their thoughts and recommendations, and creativity in the design process. Fred was wonderful and incredibly responsive when it came to printing the envelopes.

The invitations turned out beautifully and were well worth every penny. The Hawthorne House made what could have been a daunting experience wonderful and enjoyable. Any bride would be lucky to have invitations printed by the Hawthorne House.

The Hawthorne House made picking my invitations so simple. They matched my colors with my theme. It was absolutely perfect. I chose Anna Griffith invitations that were just stunning! The ladies of the Hawthorne House helped in everyway from choosing the right invite to addressing them. They were quick and responsive to all my requests. I would definitely reccomend them to any bride!!

The ladies (and Fred) of Hawthorne House were so fabulous! We saw them so much they started to feel like family. We ordered everything from them - Save the Dates, Wedding Invitations, Wedding Program, Thank you Notes and they even helped the Father-of-the-Bride with his "personal FOB cards" that he handed out at the wedding. Everything was perfect. Of all the things that went into the wedding I got the most compliments from the stationary. It is the first thing people see and really sets the tone of the wedding. They have the expertise and experience to assist any bride in creating the perfect invitation that will reflect the couple's style. Their attention to detail in matching the exact color from my invitation for the addressing of my envelopes is unsurpassed. The Hawthorne House helped me with envelopments, reply cards, and direction cards in a pinch. I waited until the last minute to talk with them and they got it all done in a reasonable amount of time. There were a couple formatting issues with the direction cards, but like I said I needed them done in a hurry. Everyone there is extremely friendly and they offer great ideas.

We worked with Nancy on our invitations. We told her what we were looking for and she would pull our books of invites to look out. We liked one type and were price quoted above what we thought we wanted to pay. When we went back the second time we found a simpler invite and had them customize it with ribbon and it turned out so great and original. If you can't find anything that is exactly what you want, they will make anything for you! They helped us work everything exactly how it should be worded and when something was wrong with our proof they had it fixed in no time. Their little shop in Occoquan is so cute and they are truely professionals. We had a great time in there picking out our invites and looking around in their shop.

We have used Hawthorne House over the years for all of our stationary needs. When it came down to invitations and menus, there was no question. They have an extensive collection to choose from and the professionals there will work with you to create what ever vision you have. Our William Arthur invitations are still receiving compliments on their classic and timelessness.
