Your wedding florist will make your wedding day even more beautiful by providing gorgeous floral arrangements. Depending on your style and needs, your wedding flowers cost will vary, but the average cost of wedding flowers in the U.S. is around $1,500 with most couples spending between $700 and $2,500. What services does a wedding florist provide?

A wedding florist provides a variety of services, some of which might not be obvious at first.
  • Consultation: Your wedding florist will meet with you to discuss your vision for your wedding—your venue, your wedding style, your desired color palette, and the types of flowers you like and dislike. Your florist will then create a proposal which will describe the arrangements he or she will create as well as the prices.
  • Samples: After you’ve signed a contract and shortly before your wedding, your florist may also provide sample arrangements to ensure that you’re on the same page about how your wedding-day flowers will look.
  • Flowers: A big part of your wedding flower budget will go to the actual purchasing of the flowers. It actually takes several hours for a florist to put a flower order together—and the flowers your florist will receive from his or her wholesaler or grower are far better quality than the ones you can buy at your local grocery store. They’re grown especially to be featured at events and are hand-selected for their quality.
  • Flower processing and storage: Once your flowers arrive to your florist, he or she will take several hours (often a whole day!) to process your flowers (taking thorns off of roses, counting the flowers, etc.) and storing them in a refrigerated space to ensure they look amazing on your wedding day.
  • Labor and production: Now, it’s time for your florist to create those beautiful arrangements! Each arrangement takes time to design (probably more than you would think!), so it’s quite a long process.
  • Delivery and set up: Your florist and his/her team will then bring your arrangements to your venue. A good amount of work needs to be done on premises to make sure that your ceremony and reception looks picture-perfect, from the altar to the reception table arrangements.
  • Cleanup: After your wedding, your florist and his/her team will go to your venue to remove all of the arrangements and vessels, and assist with cleanup.

Tracey did an amazing job for our October wedding in South Lake Tahoe. I really enjoyed working with Tina. Our flowers were beautiful, and she totally designed exactly what I wanted. I brought her several pictures of what I wanted for my bouquet and the centerpieces, and she totally came through. Also, I found her prices to be very reasonable. The only thing is that she did not ever answer her e-mail. However, when I tried calling her instead, she always got back to me really quickly. Overall, I was very pleased with my decision to hire Tina to do my flowers.

My awe started when she delivered my beautiful bouquets to my room and my jaw really hit the ground when I walked into my reception. Selina was fantastic to work with for our wedding flowers! Communicating with her before the event was simple and straightforward. I didn’t have a huge budget for flowers, and Selina was able to work with me to figure out what would work with my vision within my budget. I don’t know much about flowers, so I described to her the vibe I was going for and she did a perfect job! The bouquets, boutonnieres, tables, and ceremony arch looked stunning! The flowers were perfect. The colors and flowers she chose looked perfect with my bridesmaid’s teal dresses and the boutonnieres were simple and beautiful against the groomsmen’s navy suits. OH. MY. GOODNESS. I cannot rave enough about Love & Lupines!!! I just had my wedding two weeks ago and it was absolutely PERFECT. The single biggest jaw-dropping surprise of the entire wedding was the absolutely unbelievably stunning florals from Love & Lupines. They were the star of the show. So many guests said they were the most beautiful flowers they've ever seen. Before two weeks ago, I was a person who thought it was silly to spend a lot of money on florals for my wedding, and from seeing florals at other weddings just didn't think they were important. I have never been so wrong. I have never seen flowers like these. And it must be noted that Love & Lupines was the more reasonably-priced florist that I considered - what we received from them was SUCH an incredibly good value for what we paid. When I was standing at the ceremony of my own wedding, it was hard to focus on my husband standing in front of me because the flowers just behind him were so stunning and enchanting - I'm not exaggerating! I had asked Love & Lupines to optimize for blooms over volume on tables, and volume over blooms in the ceremony spaces - yet somehow even with what I paid them they still managed to create the most beautiful ceremony flowers I've ever seen in my life. Moreover, they are local to Truckee (where we live) and source all of their flowers from local farms. Incredible that by supporting a local small business we got to have world-class florals that totally created the most beautiful visual experience imaginable. We are so grateful.
