Frequently Asked Questions for Photography
Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
B&W, Custom Retouching, Digital Enhancements, Hand-Coloring--I love to make each image pop!

Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
candelight, overcast, natural light, on-camera and off-camera flash, mid day sun, backlighting, you name it!

Is your media preference film or digital?
I shoot in digital format now, and I most definitely still love film, that's where my roots lie.

How many photographers do you work with?
I am the sole photographer. If you book with me, then I shoot your wedding. I also have assistants and second photographers that can be added as well, but you always get me!

Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
yes, you get ME. Period.

Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
I book no more than one wedding in a weekend. I also only book a limited number of weddings per year to ensure that all of my brides get the attention that they deserve. I love to dote on them!

Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
Yes, Great Question! Although I cannot see any problem being great enough to prevent me from shooting your wedding, life does happens. In that case, I have a pool of local and area photographers to choose from for the wedding day.

What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
I shoot with Canon Digital SLR Cameras. I currently use the 30D and 20D as well as various Canon Lenses to help me get the most out of every situation. I also use Canon Flashes as well, so I guess I'm a canon girl!

Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Yes! That is very important. We all know that technology can fail so we back up all of our equipment and I even bring a film camera just in case.

Do you charge hourly or full day?
My packages currently include unlimited coverage for the day. We can work together on a custom package where I would be able to quote hourly rates as well.

Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?
Contact me for hourly custom package rates.

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
Typically just to eat at the reception. Maybe a bathroom break here and there....hey when a girl has to go then she has to go. This is also why I limit my water intake that day.

Do you charge for travel?
I offer free travel for wedding within 100 miles. Beyond that I do charge a fee.

How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
within 2 weeks after the wedding I post 10-15 of my favorites on my blog. Then all of your images are online in your private gallery within 4-6 weeks.

In what format are the initial proofs offered?
website and cd-rom or dvd-rom

How long can the client keep the proofs?
they are yours to keep!

Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
yes, I retain the copyrights. However if you have the hi-resolution images on disc then I give permission to print them anywhere you'd like.

Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
yes, unless you object then I publish each wedding on my blog and I also like to use fresh images on my website and marketing materials.

Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
yes.

Will images be available for viewing online?
yes. I am excited to say that we have just partnered with Pictage, the nations leading professional lab, for our private galleries and our portrait printing needs.

What kind of albums do you offer?
I offer Asuka Book Albums (a coffee table book style album that comes with each package) and Kiss Wedding Books (a custom made flush-mount album wrapped in full-grain Italian leather)

When will the client get the final album?
Once all of the final edits are made then you should receive your book within 4-6 weeks.
