The Photographer - Richard Becker
I spent most of my childhood and young adult life living in Texas, California, and Vermont. My wife, Heather, and I married in the summer of 2003 and currently reside in Charlotte, North Carolina. We have two beautiful daughters, Rhea and Ella. When I am not taking pictures or post-processing recent sessions, I work as a referral coordinator at a large Orthopedic Clinic and love spending time with my family. I have always enjoyed hobbies and activities that require creativity and imagination. Photography provides a wonderful way for me to use those characteristics and our daughters continue to be my favorite subjects.
Why Photography
While my wife was pregnant with our first daughter, I researched and bought our very first digital camera, in anticipation of the important part photographs would now play in our lives. During Rhea’s first year, we dutifully and excitedly captured thousands (literally!) of joyous, peaceful, playful, and tearful moments. Then a couple of years later, right before our second daughter was born, I again set out for the perfect camera to fit the needs of our growing family. After more research, I decided to move up to a Digital SLR. It didn’t take long before I realized a new passion was emerging. I devoured photography books, joined an online forum and enrolled in my first photography class. I looked for every opportunity to practice this new hobby of mine. And the more I learned and the more I practiced, the more I realized I wanted this to be much more than a hobby. I hope to make this a career by sharing in the special moments of my client’s lives, capturing them with my camera, and then turning over the final photographs that can be cherished forever!
