Frequently Asked Questions for Wedding Cake
Do you offer private tastings or open house tastings?
I offer private tastings in your home, usually in the evenings or on the weekends. I work around your schedule to make your hectic planning a little easier.

What are your tasting hours?
Early evenings and weekends are best, but call to see if you need a special time.

Describe how you price, such as by slice or by tier, for your cakes?
By the slice.

Does the price include the top tier of the cake?
Yes it does.

Do you offer custom cakes, or do you work with pre-designed styles?
Custom cakes of course, bring your ideas, photo's, images of anything you want me to create. If you don't know what you want I can always help you by sketching something up at your consultation.

What (if any) special ingredients, such as fresh fruits or farm-fresh butter, do you use in your cakes?
All my cakes are made from scratch using the highest quality ingredients. Chocolate from Verona, real butter and cream. Unique flavors include Marshmallow fondant or keylime cake made with real keylimes. My fruit fillings are made with fresh fruit when in season or frozen in the winter.

On average, how far in advance of the event do you prepare the cake?
Depending on the size of the cake and the details in the decorations usually one to two days in advance.

How many cakes do you schedule for a typical weekend?
I can do up to four in a weekend, but again depends on the style, size and demands of each cake. As well as the delivery location.

Will you work with the client's florist to garnish the cake?
Yes of course, as well as the event planner, caterer and anyone else involved in the big day.

What (if any) cake accessories, such as a cake stand or cake cutter, do you rent out?
Cake stands.

Do you offer delivery? If yes, how much is your average delivery fee?
Yes delivery fee is included in your serving price in the metro areas.

Tips and Advice
I think the most important thing to remember is that this day is the beginning of your lives together.  So with that in mind remember what is important to you so you will start on a positive note.  That means communicate clearly with your bakery as to how you expect you cake, be clear on the style you want to portray and never sacrifice taste.  If your budget is small there are so many options you have out there to still get the look and taste that you desire.  Just be open and up front about that with your bakery and they can help you get creative.  And most important have fun!
